Generational trauma . Ren creates conversations, he has the abilities to bring people into conversations we all wood rather avoid . I have seen big,tuff, bike riding men cry their eyes out for Violet and as a survivor of D.V. it has healed me . I think if Violets tale doesn't effect you, I think you are not quite right as a human being. This tale eloquently shows that you cant harm your wife without hurting your children and maybe their children as well . Fear and love cant live in the same heart .

That's what you think about Violet's tale huh? Well I think you telling someone how they should feel or be affected by a story such as Violet's tale, one with such violence, abuse, and loss of life associated with it, is one of the most myopic and insensitive things I've ever seen in the comment section of a Ren reaction!! I am truly sorry for what you had to go through as a DV survivor, no one should have to experience that, and I don't know how recent it was, and I know there is a period where one needs to focus on themselves, but you can't project your experiences and the way those kinds of horrible things make you feel and state anyone who doesn't feel that way too, is "not quite right as a human being".
I honestly don't think you were being intentionally cruel, but my former career, which i loved for a long time, put me front row center for more human suffering, death and despair to last me 10 lifetimes, and one thing that was as reliable as the sun setting and rising the next morning, was that no two people react to human suffering and tragedy the same. Humans have a wickedly complex psyche, and I've personally known people that have had decades long struggles with not feeling empathy, or love, or sadness from things that should naturally make one feel those things, and a statement like that can REALLY hit them hard. I apologize if I came out the gate a little harsh, I don't mean to sound like I'm scolding you, I don't know you and I'm sure you're a good person, just a heads up. ✌️💚

I’ve rewatched this a few times and caught a few different things than I did in the first reaction of course and it’s just personal reaction / response to it ya know but there is always two sides ya know . We are all humans growing and learning . And again as I was listening to the lyrics the first time what I caught and processed but it doesn’t mean I get everything right or whatever I am just sharing what i feel in those moments as i am reacting to whatever it is the first. no intention over here to trigger or harm or cause anyone to be upset. we all have different life experiences and backgrounds and have gone through things in private… i just share honestly and in the moment. thanks for being here regardless
"Humble" feat. Eden Nash is a great Ren song to check out after this one, as it is more positive and uplifting. I was completely traumatised by Jenny & Screech the first couple hundred times I watched it. The absolute horror of Violet's story combined with such mind-blowing musical/artistic genius is discombobulating to say the least.

I would add that a natural second reaction video from 'Hi Ren' is 'Sick Boi' it is set in the same venue and helps explain Ren's illness history 'bitten by a tick boy,' and the medical abuse, trauma, misdiagnosis, and consequences of medications he was put on before he got a clue that his symptoms and even his mental health issues were likely due to an infection (helped by the patient communities he was in contact with, some online like the ME/cfs community).
His mom and he went to a gastroenterologist to make a complaint about a stomach issue and stated he got better with a course of antibiotics before, requested I think doxycycline (common treatment for Lyme Disease), he improved on it and then saved up for private care in Belgium by a Lyme specialist doctor. Who just looking at his history stated that even before the test results came back, he was convinced Ren had Lyme Disease (Easter Egg in 'Hi Ren' look at the back of the wheelchair - labeled with L.D.).
The tests were conclusive yet the consequences of years of misdiagnosis and mistreatment left Ren with chronic illness and medical trauma. A good percentage of his catalog is about this, or his childhood best friends death. In fact his first album is titled based upon that tragedy, 'Freckled Angels.'
Due to his illness he lost his record deal with Sony, but returned to busking and making some music videos to put online. He normally is very obsessive with rehearsals and doing dozens of takes to get it perfect, but the landlord attempted to kick them out in 'Hi Ren' so they begged for a half hour more and only got 3 or 4 takes. Ren thought it was a disaster, and couldn't be redone, as he was flying to Canada for treatment the next week. But showing it to a friend they stated 'Ren this is going to change your life.'
Ren was in Canada after about a week of treatment as 'Hi Ren' blew up and he watched the views zoom, the reaction channels grow. So after 20 years of writing music, practice, and performances, he achieved 'overnight' success.
You might consider 'Sick Boi' as it is a short video and how it deals with this bit of his history.
For the crossover of his mental health challenges and how his friends death affected him, "Suicide' and 'For Joe' would be good. 'Diazepam' for how the medications prescribed affected him (referenced in 'Sick Boi'), as well as 'Chalk Outlines' for issues of medication and mental health (live amazing version with the incredible Chinchilla (Daisy Bertenshaw)), and "How To Be Me' also with Chinchilla.
Get yourself a laptop or PC with better performance and go to at least HD video, use a separate mic source from the video, learn a little post production YT editing, add Title Cards, and do more Ren reactions and your channel will take off.
Okay, you've watched 2 of Ren's story telling videos. And you've done a great job reacting to them. Now I suggest you check out his rap abilities. Watch and react to Power and Losing It to get a sense of it. You'll see more of his lyrical, musical, and rapping genius that extends throughout his catalog.

"The Hunger" REALLY needs to be added to that list, if you're goung to listen to his rap tracks. Ren's production is always great and if you listen, you'll hear Ren beatboxing too! :) As you're into beatboxing, you may enjoy "loco". It has no instruments, no beats. The whole song is just created by Ren's voice! I'd add "Sick Boi part 2" as well. It's my favourite hip-hop track by Ren. It's something of a masterpiece! Those lyrics! Just incredible! Those flows! That delivery! That BEAT! Yep, definitely listen to "Sick Boi part 2"! :)

This wasn't originally a trilogy story. Ren read a small article about a 14 yr old boy killing a young prostitute with a knife in an attempted robbery. Knife crime had been skyrocketing in London at that time. Later that same evening the boy had been shot and killed by the armed police division that responded to a sighting of a possible suspect for a girl found murdered in Sussex Gardens area in Paddington - one of the capital's most notorious red light districts. It disturbed him, so he set out to write a commentary not just on senseless violence, but on how desensitized we've become to it. The words he ends both Jenny and Screech's Tales with is "It's such a Shame" we say these words all to often and just move on without a second thought. The the lead inspector was quoted saying " So Young, It's such a shame".
Violets Tale was written over 2 years later adding another layer of commentary by Ren. ((In my opinion)), Ren wanted us to consider not only generational violence but to make us look at all the areas of society that we turn a blind eye to. Both characters are born out of violence on that cruel night of Violets beating and then both killed with brutal violence on the same night 14yrs later. Also, his lyrics have even more meaning when you read in-between the lines. For example, he doesn't say what Jenny was doing or why she wanted to escape from this place & her life, or why Screech thought she was older, saying at Patrick's door "I left this lady lying on the floor". Could that be because the way she's dressed & her heavy makeup is why he saw her as an older lady? Also why would a 14yr old girl be out so late in the dead of night, walking alone in a sketchy area wearing high heeled shoes, walking down streets that "she's walked it a thousand times before"? Everything points to Jenny being an underage prostitute, showing us tha Ren writes has reason & makes us think & question. There's no fat on the bone, every word is weighed & has meaning.
Interesting how Jenny has the same traits as her mother Violet, quiet, voiceless, and timid. Whereas Screech mirrors his father Stevie (the Prick boyfriend), Loud, obnoxious, and easily provoked into violence. Screech & Jenny didn't know one another and they had never met their biological parents, so what made these kids so alike their parents? Was it simply Nature, inherited traits due to their genetic make-up OR Nurture, being brought up in the broken governmental system that is filled with, mistreated & in many cases, abused children that are shuffled from one foster home to another ? He organically takes us on this journey, leaving us to think shouldn't we be doing better in this so called "advanced, wealthy, 1st world society.

I love watching reactions by people like you who have strong societal awareness and an inquisitive mind. Ren is one of the few things that brings me comfort, left on this earth. I've been fighting depression for years and I was in a very dark place until I found Ren about a year ago. Because of health reasons I've had to give up my work and art. Ren has given me hope that maybe I don't have to give up what give me joy but maybe I can alter them and still create.
The 2 things that give me joy, my acting/directing (I was a professional actor mainly stage but some minor film and t.v). My second passion was giving up on my plans of opening a restaurant with a close friend. Cooking was as much my art as acting was. I was a professional chef long before I was an actor because my entire family were in food & beverage. I literally grew up in a commercial kitchen.
Sorry, this is way too long. I'm just saying I can't wait to see you dive into more Ren. Cheers.👍😉

I think you knocked this reaction out of the park. I too think it would be cool to see you react to the "Money Game" trilogy. Other worthwhile songs that immediately come to mind (although they are all worthwhile) include "Seven sins," "wicked ways", "chalk outlines" "loco" etc. If you want to take a break from his heavy stuff, and see the completely opposite, light, fun side of Ren then react to "Losing it," "what you want," "humble," "ocean" etc. Hope to see more Ren reactions

Ren's dad got him a small beat up guitar at a flea market when he was 8 years old and Ren took it everywhere, obsessed with learning to play, and even then to write songs.
The only job Ren ever had was at 16 at a Coop and he was fired after throwing sprouts at a coworker. But he was busking on the streets and managed some money that way, he'd be in two bands that busk in Brighton, you can find YT of them online, 'Trick The Fox, and 'The Big Push.'
When Ren is storytelling like this it's gained the name 'Bardcore,' and one reactor actually mentioned the show 'The Witcher' and the character of 'Jasker.' A Medieval Troubadour or Bard.
The Tales are based upon a police blotter article in a paper Ren read, it was the story of a young prostitute killed by another youth during a mugging, then a responding officer killing the youth. In the article the commanding officer was quoted saying 'they were so young, it's such a shame.' 'It's such a shame' is a phrase Ren uses throughout The Tales.
They were made a year apart, originally just Jenny & Screech, telling the story in the paper, but Violet's Tale was created to bring them back together as a story of multigenerational trauma, abuse, and neglect.
Some seem to miss that Violet's father 'tuck her tight, but never left the room. I'll spare you with the things he did, I'm sure her mother knew.' She got out at 16, and to get a council flat under a welfare scheme she was likely pregnant, by her father.
Stevie calls her a 'little liar' and a 'fucking slut,' this could be because he figured out that she was pregnant before they got together. Levels.
'Hi Ren' was the gateway for most who found him, and then explored the diversity of his back catalog as well as the wealth of his new releases since his popularity has spike, in part due to the many YT reaction videos that helped drive him to a number 1 album in the UK.

I'm going to add something regarding your production quality, not only going HD from 720p, but it seems the video your watching seems to stutter, meaning likely your Internet speed, or your computer buffering is poor, may also be that memory and video card capacity is overloaded.
Your audio when ambient room noise or you speak is dropping out the videos audio level. I wonder if it is because you are taking the audio from the room for the video as well as your own comments? Add some Title cards to each video so people can see what the content is more easily will help you as well.

Here is how I interpret this song after listening to it a bunch of times and also watching other reactors reacting.
Back in 2005* Violet was pregnant, and her boyfriend Stevie beat her, and she wound up in the hospital clinging to life and she was found to be pregnant. Violet begged the doctor to keep her baby alive indicating that she did not know she had twins. Probably with her abuse hadn't even seen a Doctor. Violet unfortunately passes away and her twin babies Jenny and Screech are separated and raised by different families. We don't know how good or bad they were raised but they both wound up in very bad situations. Jenny was a prostitute** at only 14 years old and Screech was a thief also at only 14 yrs old. That fateful night when they crossed pass neither of them knew the other existed. Screech winds up killing his own twin sister then he gets gunned down by the police and both wind up dying the same night only 1 street apart.
I wouldn't be surprised if the hospital where Violet died was also nearby.
* Violet gives birth to twns and dies then fast forward to 2019 (year that this song was released) and Jenny and Screech are both 14 yrs old.
**Yes Jenny was a prostitute....the following lines in the song indicate that...
"Cause she'd walked it about a thousand times before" showing that she walked up and down so many times plus it was late at night she was "dragging her feet" indicates she has been on her feet for hours at night.
"but stayed as still as a statue in high heel shoes" she was wearing high heels late at night walking the streets ...."I'll slice the rosy off your cheeks " indicted she had heavy make-up on enough to slice off (so to speak) combine all those hints together walking late at night the same streets so many times wearing high heels and lots of make-up on points to her being a prostitute....

Hauntingly beautiful, my dear you nailed this reaction! The money game series will demonstrate his continuation of storytelling skills I’ve seen all the recommendations for his rap for you to do and I agree madam that his rap is top tier my suggestion song in that category though is Life is Funny. Great sample of his talent there, but I honestly think and hate to disagree with everyone on what you should do next but I think you should go with his busking video with Sam just because of his singing voice is phenomenal in my opinion and that is something you need to discover in my opinion. The video is the weekend/Man’s world/ Fallen all in one video. Either way you have a new sub ma’am and seriously hope the wait isn’t another 8 months because he has too much material for your liking and TRULY your reactions are too honest and outstanding not to be seen as often as possible. This song really does just hit harder when you've lived through domestic abuse. So did 'Hi, Ren,' actually, as I saw the 'evil,' voice exhibiting all of the argument patterns of a narcissist and it put me extremely on edge and high alert (which just made the 'Hope' section hit that much harder too). Yeah, the mental damage lives rent free in my head even years later and I hear her ways she ripped me apart emotionally every time something goes wrong in my life.
And your words about checking on your friends are so important, so thank you for saying them. I wouldn't be alive if not for a well timed phone call from a friend interrupting me. Knowing someone cares means so much in those moments.

@@JKSCOOTER Yes, big reveal at the end connecting Violet to the first two Tales is they were twins and Violet was their mother. They were then obviously separated at birth and had never met.
Ren ft Bibi - Crutch is proper emotional and has a really haunting piano and beautifully shot video. I live in England and have sort of followed the great awakening since the plandemic but really felt something has not been right for longer than that. Fallen down a lot of rabbit holes since and Ren seems to be backing up a lot of what the alternative media are starting to uncover and be transparent about unlike the narrative driven mainstream media. But we are the 99% and we do not have to comply with these government corporations. Got my frequency high and pulling out the system.
