- Julian Newman made his Prodigy Prep debut tonight against a tough Surge Christian team at Potter's House in Jacksonville, Florida. Things got heated throughout the matchup that resulted in Julian being ejected after receiving his 2nd Tech. Newman ended with 16 points.
Surge Christian looks to be a solid team this year led by Godwin ilumoka (24 pts) and point guard Ray Robinson who finished with a game high 25 points.

I am not as good a shooter as he is but I can play on a team and won't take unnecessary shots. What makes me mad is when people ask me to pass the ball when I know the shots going in. I will crank a shot if I have confidence in it but usually pass.

Julian lets his emotions get the best of him. Itâs probably from alway being picked on. He forces a lot of possessions with reckless decisions and gives up on too many plays. Thatâs a sign of pure selfishness.
Man when I first saw videos of this kid play I thought he was good and can ball better than most. But now that he's all grown up I can see why he hasn't gotten any offers yet! He holds the ball to much, he tries to dribble through double teams, he doesn't defend, from what I see he just worries about trying to make highlight footage rather than play and help the team win... Oh and he's undisciplined he just can't keep a level head and that's because he thinks he's better than he really is and that's thanks to his dad for hiping him up to much smh... When coaches see players like that they tend to stay away cause they know he will be uncoachable
