    Mar 25th, Lakers get 27 more FTAs than the Pacers and only win by 5. Mar 29th, Lakers get 4 more FTAs than the Pacers and *LOSE by 19 points.*
    Their average FTA advantage in a win is 8.7. They're 18 and 25 when it's less than 8.7 more free throw attempts.

    The warriors lakers 6th game free-throw disparity was ridiculous. Lakers was awarded 46 attempts at the line making 43 of them while the warriors had 16 attempts making 11 of them. That is 32 points just on free-throw disparity alone. There needs to be some put in place to prevent this kind of lopsided bias officiating cuz it is blatant. Just like in the Ucon Iowa game. The referees decided the game.

    Interesting Lakers facts below:
    1. Did you know the Lakers free throw differential over the last two seasons is well over +1000 more free throws than their opponents? They lead the league in that category. The second place team doesn’t even crack +350.
    2. Did you know that if you combined the free throw differential of the teams in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place the Lakers would still have a comfortable lead over that team?
    3. Did you know that the Lakers have shot more free throws than their opponent’s in 19 out of the last 20 games? The one game they shot less was by 4 free throws.
    4. Did you know that during a recent game where the Lakers played the Timberwolves they shot 31 free throws to Minnesota’s 11? This was a game Lebron missed and Anthony Davis sat for 3 and a half quarters due to injury.
    5. Did you know the league outright attempting and succeeding to rig games in the Lakers favor?

    • @ID91254
      @ID91254 Před 25 dny

      Oh yes, the league is attempting to rig games in favor of the Lakers. Almost as much as the Orlando Magic (1st in the league in FTA)

  • @AndrewKeifer
    @AndrewKeifer Před měsícem +5

    Last season the Lakers' _average_ free throw attempt advantage TRIPLED from 3.32 to 10.25 in the final 32 games of the season; they were already leading the league in that stat for the first 50 games. This tripling began immediately following the LeTantrum and the Lakers complaint to the league office on Jan 9th, over the loss to Boston on Jan 8, 2023. In the very next 5 games, 3 of them saw double digit free throw advantages for the Lakers (18, -1, 25, 13 and 6 respectively). This is before any of the new roster were active, so it can't be chalked up to a roster change.

    Glad that this travesty being highlighted more and more by more ppl 😂 y'all feel how we GS fans felt last playoffs. But they still got 'but y'all a jumpshooting team hence that fts disparity happened' argument to justify those mindboggling calls constantly favoring them (despite GS got as much paint points as them, even if it's different it's not that much).
    Let's put it this way, had officials reffed Curry the way they do to these Lakers boys (especially Reaves, Dlo, Spencer starts to get into that 'rythm' now, Schroder last season 😂) then that 2016 famous comeback by Cavs would have no chance to happening, at all. Lol

    • @AndrewKeifer
      @AndrewKeifer Před měsícem +1

      What was funny about that whole "drives to the paint" narrative is that when the Lakers (18th in drives at the time) went up against OKC (1st in drives at that time) the Lakers STILL got more free throws out of the 3 times they met, winning 2 of 3: They got +6, +15 and +9 respectively. Guess which one the Lakers lost? As far as points in the paint, the Lakers and OKC were very comparable at the time they played ranking 3rd and 4th respectively.

    Makes total sense, but without a smoking gun piece of evidence from an NBA insider, it's all speculation. With the amount of people who would have to be involved, there has to be at least one person to leak something to the media (3rd party media and not the media on the NBA's side). I'm a Laker fan, so I'm not really complaining about all this. I suffered through so many bad Laker years, so I'm going to enjoy this as much as i can.

  • @munimathbypeterfelton6251

    Even before LeBrat was on the team, the NBA has always been notorious for looking upon the Lakers as being its favorite child. The league takes the gold in the gold-and-purple team colors too far in that regard. After all, it took the Lakers two decades (2000-2020) to catch up to the franchise's historic rival Boston Celtics' 17 titles. But because the Hollywood team loves to churn out superstars and get things in its favor in the quicke$t manner possible each year, who are the top executives of the NBA to say otherwise?! 😑

    Like anything else the proof is in the numbers, and players and coaches are stiffly fined if they highlight the disparity while talking to the media. Free-throws win games especially in the playoffs, the lakers have always been favored, after the Tim Donahy exposure in 2004 for obvious reasons the lakers temporarily lost their ref help which is the ONLY reason the lakers lost to the Pistons that year. the NBA has been rigged for decades, I would NEVER spend one of my hard earned dollars going to an NBA game, like the coach up north said " THIS IS A CRAP"

  • @Jed948

    bro you are simplifying free throw disparity to paint touches and drives. A lot of drives to the basket end up being kick out passes. OKC leads the league in drives per game but are 17th in free throw attempts. The lakers are 6th in the league in FGA less than 5FT. You talk about the free throw differential but a lot of the times our game plan is to give drop coverage and to give up 3s which don't lead to a lot of fouls. You also have to take into account the personnel. For example, Austin Reaves and DLo are good at drawing fouls outside of the paint. AD and Bron draw fouls because they are difficult to guard which can lead to bonus situations. Also, in some of the games you mentioned, the lakers were fouled continuously late game to try and win the game adding up to a bigger free throw disparity. So it is not as simple as drives to the basket and paint touches. When you say there is laker favoritism, you perpetuate an oversimplified narrative that tries to discredit the Lakers game which every team tries to do as one of the most historic franchises.
