Mortal Kombat Trilogy is the BEST old school Mortal Kombat. It has all the classic characters, many of the iconic stages, and the brutal yet simple fatalities.
For everybody saying TAS / Tool Assistance, it's not. She's reading the A.I.'s movements just so well plus her character haven't did any glitch-like movements like "blocking while moving up & down after a victory". With MK Trilogy it's possible to trick the A.I. into doing certain movements and also learning the hitboxes help.
Played this religiously was our first game ever and me and my older fight countless times on this game which led into a real fight sometimes oh the 90’s😂

It's exclusive to the N64 version of Trilogy, known as a Reverse Babality. It was based on the "baby bashing" glitch seen in the earliest builds of MK2. The losing opponent simply has to hold all four attack buttons when a Babality is performed on them
It's pretty good, the only real problem is the audio compression due to the cartridge format. That and it's missing Goro and Kintaro. Maybe if it were released a year later it could have came on a bigger cart, but it still holds its own against any of the Saturn and PS1 Mortal Kombat releases. The absence of any loading screens is a huge plus!
I have an N64 I got from EBay for a pretty cool price! I plan to get the two Mortal Kombat games for N64 (trilogy and 4) after I order Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2.

I want to play the classic sonic games, MK (all three) and Mario games again but I want to know which classic console would be the best. I know there are a ton of pros and cons. I never had to worry about specific wants when little but with how games graphics have “advanced” I’m looking for the best visuals. Although MK is providing difficult because I know NES has a second lag in action when pressing a button. And there’s more I need to consider. I’m stressed out because I want to relax playing these games again. 😵💫
you really use the wrong setting for this. if you use Project64 for this game make sure you use softplugin to get native resolution. This one here above is messed up. Anything higher than 240p it damages this game. If you use bizhawk keep the lowest resolution and voila native N64 experience. This game looks way better on N64 and this video doesn't do any justice to it
@@DrPowerBoy I recommend you to buy trilogy if you have friends it is more competitive I really enjoy playing it with my dad but for me what makes trilogy better is the wonderful roster, and mk 4 meh
Do you play with the original N64 controller? And if so, do you change the configuration from default setup at all? I just bought the game on the N64 and I'm just asking for a tip prior to beginning my journey.

@@kaihedgie1747 Actually, I’ve learned from it now: Scorpion’s Zodiac sign is Scorpio correct? So it should be clear that his Animal sign got swapped out of place with Sheeva in UMK3 and Trilogy when she debuted in this sequel. So I’m guessing it would’ve made sense if we found out what her animal sign was in later games to be clear?
Doesn’t look nearly as good either. Also doesn’t have the cheat menu. 64 version feels lazy and sounds awful. Everything sounds muffled especially the voices. Shame because it could have been better w no loading

Look you live in a fantasy all you want but I owned both versions and the Psx version is leagues better. The only reason you’d think the N64 version is better is you’re biased. Literally the only reason.
I’m so disappointed by this port of MK on the n64. I wished the developers used more ROM memory than the 16 MegaBytes they used for this port. Missing animations, terrible music, voices & sound effects… the N64 didn’t deserve this. I hope someone does a ROM hack adding of the missing features to this game.
It used a 12MB cartridge actually which was decent as most companies where using 8MB cartridges on the N64 at this time as I would of. I think they must have been some compression issues as 12MB should have been plenty.
@@wizzgamer actually as a kid I read all of the reviews on magazines like Game Pro & such. & the N64 version of MKT was made with 16MB which is 128-Megabits. 12MB would’ve been fine for ports like MK1, MK2, MK3, & maybe UMK on the system. But having all of those stages & animations just wouldn’t cut it for a game like MKT. The original music & sound effects alone would take up about 9MB compressed. I just wished Midway would’ve used some elbow grease & given the game a full 32MB to flex the N64’s muscles. Hell, I wished Nintendo would’ve had some foresight to allow Rare Ware to give us near perfect ports of Killer Instinct 1 & 2 with some enhancements.
@@kaihedgie1747 Go play the Arcade versions of MK2 & UMK. You’ll see the characters are larger & have crazy amounts of detail along with smoother animations. Plus, the music & sound effects of those games were top notch. Because the limited ROM of 16MB The developers had to make deep sacrifices to fit the game in such a small space. It bothers me because I know how capable the N64 is compared to Midway’s Wolf Unit hardware.

Why is the music and sound effects so bad yet RE 2 sounds perfect?
Probably because they used different compression methods.
This was one of the first N64 games made. Resident Evil 2 came out way later.
Likely due to compression issues as it was on a large at the time for mainstream consoles 12MB cartridge this should have been plenty.
This mk had a darker feel to it and the combos were impressive at the time
