Today I went on a survey into a cleanroom manufacturing facility. This survey was a little different from my usual lab and office area since the facility was operational and had strict guidelines.
Field surveys are an important part of the job because you get to see the real world results of what you design on the screen. It also gives you perspective on what you are working with when you see the finished product. Designs on paper don't always include every little thing that goes into the final product, such as hangers, name plates, cable managment and lift points.
