THANK YOU for finally teaching me how to paint a poppy! It makes my early ones look like dead flowers :)

LOL, yes my early flowers were rather sad looking too but eventually they started to resemble what I was aiming for.

I appreciate your teaching so much. You paint slowly enough, explain what you are doing and give me permission to not be perfect. Thank you so much

You are so welcome! There is beauty in imperfection and really that is how we develop our own style. Thank you, hearing such things helps keep me motivated.

Im 48 and this was my very first time picking up a brush and was able to learn from you how to make these lovely poppies!!! Thank you for making it appear 'doable'. I even posted the process on FB and my family and friends gave me great reviews. I've fallen in love with painting now and I'm also learning from you how to paint leaves!!! Hi Sharon, the paint brush I am using in this lesson is a royal majestic flat or wash brush, either a #12 or #10, here is a link to where you can get a set on Amazon (affiliate link): amzn.to/2ILRzZc and I also recommend these brushes, which I use a lot and hold up very well (affiliate link): amzn.to/38Ss6s7
In fact I am using the same set I bought over 4 years ago.

It does take practice but that shell stroke is the basis of many flowers and if you master that the you can do so many variations!
