  • In this video I compare 3 of the top sling bags you can buy right now. These bags are all gray man and don't look overly tactical. I compare the 3 and let you know my choice at the end. Thanks for watching!

funny that your gripe is my selling point. i actually like that vanquest used a seatbelt material type strap, its the reason i am considering buying this bag to replace my other vanquest. the strap on my other vanquest bag is so thick and overly padded for what i wanna use it for,.. if i was going on a long trek, it would be great to,have the padding but not for an edc just walking a few blocks at most type bag,. either going with the bag u have or adding a few more modular pieces together like adding a fiestaid pack to a fatpack and a waterbottle holder all together with the outer molle type of deal

The water bottle (WB) pouch is the big seller for me and dedicated CCW pouch. Really liked the vertyx, but no external WB and no molle to attach an external WB. I generally carry in my bag my EDC pouch (channel lock, vise-grip, Leatherman, mini ratchet, Leatherman bits, 1/4” socket, ferro-rod, compass, extra magazine, tinder, titanium tweezers, and titanium toothpick.), fixedblade, gloves (impact and latex), back up 20,000mah battery and extra clothes. It’s all in an adidas string backpack for a grey man, but I have to clip my WB to the outside. On my person, my CCW/extra mag, folder and flashlight. I look at the UCR (watch Ambubadger’s comparison) and really liked it, but no WB pouch or CCW pouch.

Hey man nice review i too like the 5.11 lv 10 over the vertx transit sling, only thing missing for me on the LV10 was a quick release buckle for the strap otherwise its perfect. Btw which amor plate did u get for the 5.11? I heard the viktos upscale sling one from premiere body armor fits but it looks rly small to me did u manage to fit a bigger one? Premiere body armor does not make one specifically for this bag 😔 lol

I’ve had my LV10 for over a year and it’s been one of the best bags I’ve owned. I hope they make adjustments and make the strap smaller and add a quick release. Great video.

You know you can customize the vertex transit sling (adding the water bottle holder, external pocket and changing the zipper pull) Vertx is designed to handle and excellent with customization

With the LV10. You can remove the second strap if you are not using it. You will appreciate the fatter strap when you wear the bag all day.
I am a lefty and the LV10 works great. I tried 2 different Vertx bags and returned them because comfort was key for me. One important note with any sling bag is NOT to overload it. A sling should not weigh more than 10lbs loaded. Could you tell me what plate you have for the LV10?

As being left handed I don't like any of the bags that are only one shoulder or another carry. That's a deal killer for me.

I came to the same conclusion as you re: the 5.11 LV10. I love it, but the strap was awful. I cut it off and replaced it with something far more utilitarian, and I've got the video on my page as well as a comparison to the 5.11 UCR if you're interested. I'll be uploading another LV10 review now that I've had it a while, and it'll go a little further into the strap mod I did.

I actually got the Vertx and returned it for the 5.11 LV10. for my use I like it way better.. but if I was able to off body carry I would of kept the Vertx. I'm using the 5.11 for the range and it's perfect for my needs. I got some mag holders and a holster that sticks to the back and it's perfect for the range love it.

@@Jasondranoff I’m not a fan of the vertx bag. It’s a nice bag but using it as an off carry option for a pistol I don’t think so, maybe a sub gun- small ar pistol yea. The lv10 seems like a better option for me

I tried an 11" MacBook Air in my LV10 and it barely zips up with the laptop in the main compartment. It sits upright in the main on the side closest to the body. I imagine you _might_ fit a 13" if it's angled, but then it'll form a lean-to over all the other contents. I modified the strap on mine, the video is on my page. I also compared it to the UCR by 5.11.

Vertx all the way! I love my Transit Sling 2.0 - 13 Liters, with two IIIA Kevlar plates! The bag itself (only first generation!) is built like a tank: fabric, zippers, backpad, straps... everything is built to last forever. And, it's brilliantly designed. However, I would stay away from their second generation (they call them now just "Transit"), because it's not even close in design and quality: flimsy, bulky (17 Liters!), cheaply made. The very first generation (2.0) bags with mesh backpads are very hard to find now. Mine is 5 years old - looks like brand new, and I carry it every day.
5.11 discredited itself years ago when they sponsored Obama and his minions. Well... what else could anyone expect from Commiefornia?

vertx is a terrible EDC bag. You pointed out all the weaknesses that ARE deal killers.
The LV 10 in my opinion has the appropriate shoulder carry, as many folks are right hand shooters and you can still conceal carry at 3-5olock with a holster and draw without doing weird maneuvers with your sling/backpack. Doesn't look like it has a clip to detach your main strap on the LV 10...that means you have to bring it over your head everytime you put it on and off.
I use the DDT tactical urban sling. Best sling ever, just wished it was oriented as right shoulder carry so I can conceal carry on body at 3-5 oclock. Now I'm experimenting with cross draw from the 9 oclock position because of the strap being on the left shoulder like most slings.
