Ken Ishii (ケン・イシイ?) is a Japanese techno DJ and producer from Sapporo. He graduated from Hitotsubashi University. He has released work under his own name as well as under the pseudonyms: FLR, Flare, UTU, Yoga, and Rising Sun.
Strongly influenced by Detroit techno, Ken Ishii had his first release on Richie Hawtin's label Plus 8. He composed the music for the opening ceremonies to the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. He provided a track for the 2001 video game Rez by Sega: Creation The State Of Art which is the music used in the third level of the normal game, as well as music for the game LSD. His track "Let It All Ride" has also been used in the PSP video game Lumines II. - Hudba

Ken Ishiiの名前を初めて知ったCD、できたばかりの三軒茶屋のTSUTAYA、試聴機で呆然と聞いてたら朝の4時。そのテンションのまま大学へ。楽しい思い出です。
多分僕の人生で一番聴いた(てる)CDですね

I picked this CD up before a trip to Ecuador in 2001. This was the soundtrack for the whole trip (this and J Smooth/Freaky Flow “Back 2 School). I was blown away by this mix.

I remember finding this cd in a small cd shop in Amsterdam. Still a great mix after all this time and so is the rest of the x-mix series.

Yeah, god damn, this mix never gets old. I got it fresh and just released from local music store here in Helsinki :p Instant love for this cd and still one of my favorites....
