Oh man, I'm loving everything about this new unit (and, f/w obviously!) - already have the OG Plum OCP, but this looks like it'd still make a nice up-(side?)-grade while harvesting some more HP! Panel design is also right up my sleek-industrial alley; like a cross between ADDAC & Modulaire Maritime, or even ALM. 🎯
I love you bro, so glad you are back in the game with this. Hey so with the Dual TM is that only a teensy 4.- thing to be able to have different quantization per channel? How do I get that?
Amazing project! Thank you! Is this 8 channel version open source? If it is, where can I find gerbers or files for the project? I would totally give it a try.
Very kewl! Does Dual TM have the ability to accept resets? I feel like this is one of the major limitations of most TM/shift register modules, especially if you wanna explore odd pattern lengths. Even better might be if it could also trigger its own resets every bar or 2.
It does not, but it could be possible. I've been embracing the chaos with this one, but I'm starting to see why a reset might be cool. It's tricky, because there's no real start/end, the bits are just constantly shifting. EnigmaJr has a reset tho...
@@Phazerville I don't know that it needs to be a "real" start/end point as such - the reset point in the register could be arbitrarily selected - it just needs to then be repeatable. To take it even further, it would be ideal to be able move the reset point (in a similar fashion to rotating a Euclidean pattern) to define where the register falls relative to the beat/bars. AFAIK the only way to do that with typical TM's is to add or remove clock steps. I've also had this idea floating around in my head for a pattern generator that combines Euclidean (or modified Euclid like Shakmat's Knights Gallop) with reversed 8-Bit bit table patterns like the Mazzatron Golden Shower, either CV/manual switched between, or combined with various logic operations. I'm not a code guy though - just an ideas guy.
A good solution is to have a reset value, that IS a point in the sequence. Even better, would also to be a way to capture the current value of the shift register, to use as a reset value. Super math 5 star achievement would be to back calculate from the rest point, or fo forward & backward. Maybe I need to pick up some software skills and put my keyboard where my idea is.
@@Phazerville You're one of the good ones! I highly recommend munching on ¢a$hewz and drinking Cranberry Red Bull. Unfortunately Cranberry flavor is no longer made so you'll have to drink the Blue version. BTW a ¢a$hew is a seed not a nut, although I wasn't always aware of this myself!
Only the new O_C T4.1 has MIDI expansion and it's not released or for sale yet. If you ask DJ Phazer nicely, maybe you can get into the beta test for early access to the new hardware. If you manage to get one of the betas, it comes with the MIDI & USB expansion panel (because the idea is to be able to actually beta test the new features...)
@@PaulStoffregen Paul, thanks so much for responding, that explains some. I would very much appreciate volunteering for a beta test, though I have the tendency to drive developers up the wall for pushing tests to extremes 😅

This was wild. Thanks for sharing!!! I guess I'm going to have to get another O_C 😏

Shit. I just bought a second O_C. I wonder when these dual units will be available?
This is awesome!
Is there some info on how to use a Teensy 4.1 on an original O_C?
Would love to try it
