Hi Carson, great video of the rounding up of the Buffalo. That run has to be a lot more tiring for the horses as it is so much more fast paced than herding cows. I was amazed at how fast the herd of Buffalo moved. The poor riders that got dumped must have gotten pretty beatenup with running at that speed. It is a great memory, that you were able to experience all together with your dad and Uncle Boyd. I'm sure all of the spectators watching made it more of an exciting experience. South Dakota is some beautiful country with a lot of open land. Best wishes as you begin the process of getting your own cattle out of the hills.
Good show. Cool having Tuff out there with you. I was a fan of his back in the day when he was riding bulls .You had your own cheering section up on the hill. 🙂 Thanks for sharing. Best to yall for the fall roundup.
What a great video. Love the prayer before for all to be safe, seeing Tuff ride with you and the interview at the end. Awesome experience and memory. Safe round up of your own, for you, your horses & your cows.
Another great video Carson . Thanks for taking us along on your Buffalo Roundup adventure . I started riding horse in Custer Park in 1981. Been back many times. Love the scenery, staying at the horse camp, and of course the Buffalo . Had a few close encounters with the old bulls along the trails . They definitely need respect and caution . Sure wish I could participate in the roundup sometime .
WOW!! That was fun!! Thank you for taking us along, Carson! You do a GREAT job getting footage! We appreciate the opportunity to come along with you! Hope your cattle roundup went well! Blessings to you from your fellow CZcams friends from Kansas!
Awesome video! Just like a real western movie. Seeing that herd of buffalo brought tears to my eyes. Maybe a piece of my Chippewa heritage. Thanks for sharing this video Carson 🪶💜
what a great ride !! Any horse owner would give there right arm to do that ride. In 1976 on vacation my wife and I rented a couple of horses and joined a trail ride there, come over a steep hill we rode up on and disturbed a bull rolling around just as we topped the hill. I can tell you we went down the other side faster then we went up !! Great excitement ,beautiful country. for a Boston kid.
Awesome! I've been to a couple of those Custer round-ups. Still remember the sound the hooves of the huge buffalo herds made. Absolutely beautiful sound and sight! 😍
Looked like a great time was had by all! Such a great turnout of people! That was quite a herd of buffalo 🦬 wish the microphone could have picked up the sound of there hooves pounding the ground at full speed , bet it sounded like rolling thunder! Glad they didn’t want you to ear tag the calves! 🤣 Thanks for taking us along for the ride Carson! 👍👋
Awesome to see the roundup. Really enjoy the bison. Thanks to you and your family for helping out. Good luck with rounding up the cows this week. As anyways God bless you and your family. Your brother in Christ.
Your so lucky to get to ride in the Great Custer park roundup !!! I got goosebumps when I saw the bison coming over that ridge where the spectators were !❣️❣️ Thank you so much for sharing ❣️❣️❣️
I love this! Brother.. natural sound.. of hooves.. the herd.. including the wind👍🏾👍🏾 the whole experience seems awesome.. I could sense it.. with scenery.. I'm glad you took us along. Thank you. Have a God blessed Thanksgivings to you all 🙏🏽
Truly amazing to see up close on video. So, thank You for taking us along and showing us some real history. I’d imagine it’s even more amazing in person & a definite adrenaline rush like You said. Stay Safe, and Continued Blessings to You and Your Family!!!
😮😮😮❤❤❤. What a event!!!! Living 1 hour from Yellowstone National Park I love the bison…I never get tired of seeing them… There’s 2 things I think about the West…it’s wild horses and the bison….Quite a exciting day!!!!Would love to have seen that!!! Thanks again for another great video!!!!Enjoyed every minute of it!!!! Have a great day and give those horses extra food today..Quite a workout for them!,
Excellent video, could not believe all the spectators! You live in a great state, traditions and people in your state government who are people focused. Thanks for sharing and for getting some merchandise, I am looking forward to wearing my new hat when it arrives.
God bless America. Sure is beautiful country out there. Good to see the governor there even though she wasn't able to ride. I've much respect for her. The Bison are amazing, I wonder what it must have been like when the herds were in the tens of thousands. Tuff was a nice sighting, you ride in a pretty lofty crowd. Thanks for your time in the making of this video. Best regards from Indiana.
I just love custer . And of course the "wild" donkeys My family and I were there in 2019 had hoped to go back next year but life gets in the way and that trip will have to wait. Beautiful scenery brought back some good memories.. Thanks
Awesome video. What a great experience for all of you. Wish I could have been there. It makes you think of what it must have been like back in the day.
Just beautiful and tremendous horsemanship. My husband and I lived in Great Falls, MT and stationed at Malmstrom AFB. Loved it there. Have been to Custer Battlefield too.
Many years ago while driving through the park, in the distance I could see something big and black. I said to my sister why is there a boulder in the road? Got closer, a buffalo. I stopped, it looked at us through car window. Great memory.
Looked like fun, good idea to give the bison some room. It would be fun to watch the round up. Your Dad has the same stance Clint Eastwood had just before putting someone down in the movies. Hope you all stay safe and healthy.
What a great experience. Watching them come over the hill like a river was thrilling. I can just imagine how it was in the past with buffalo as far as you could see.
Thanks Carson, interesting video, didn't know there were still so many Buffalo around your area. It must have be a privilege to have been invited to attend the muster. Your Dad is a important person the reporter lady spoke to him twice to get his take on how the day went. It must be a important day as you mentioned the Governor was supposed to be there. From Down Under
Darn, our family was in the great state of South Dakota, in late July, visiting from MA...missed seeing the round up. Maybe next year!! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks so much for such an awesome video. I visited SD two years ago and saw so many buffalo in Custer Stater Park. This video brought back fond memories...the only thing better would be to actually ride in the roundup.

That was excellent!!! Thank you. When i saw you in the baseball hat i laughed and thought surely he's not going to wear that in a Buffalo roundup! But you got out your cowboy hat. Maybe you should sell cowboy hats too. I love your state! You have a good governor.
They do a similar thing here in Utah with the buffalo on Antelope Island out on the Great Salt Lake. Kinda crazy here because they have about 700 buffalo and 500 riders. Great video! I love Kristi Noem!
Same, they never locked down. So in 2020 I visited for a week and have visited 2 more times for a week. As soon as my wife and I can afford it, we are planning to buy a couple dozen acres and move out there.
howdy from the windchill factory in Chicago - the bison herds stretched out to the Illinois prairie long ago. great horseback action! pretty South Dakota cousins!
What an amazing day for all of you. Sweet Trump did a great job for you. Just wonderful. So happy that you all got to go do the round up together. I loved hearing some of my Lakota relatives singing and speaking in our Lakota language... "Lila waste! Mitakuye Oyasin!" (very good! We are all related)
I didnt even noticed you had a camera on ya when I chatted with ya. 🤠🤣 But yeah, hooe the other guy is ok. Me too. My horse fell on that new black top Loop road just got. Slick as ice. Heard I wasnt the only one who's horse fell or almost fell on the road. Thanks for the help! God bless
