- In this video, I'm going to show you what a week in the life of an airline pilot in line training.
I am currently doing my line training on the Airbus A320 which is my first flying post base training. In this video, I will be showing you what a line training student's typical week looks like. For my line training, I am based out of London Stansted Airport, which is where I'll be based for this video. The week was full of flying and different challenges as you'll see in the video.

What do you mean you can start training at anytime in the US you just have to 17 to solo to really you have 1 year

Do it I have just qualified as a private pilot, and it is a dream that a couple years ago I thought would never be possible. So if your not sure if you want to go the whole way and pay the 80k then I would suggest doing the PPL and then considering your options.
Wow I’m so happy for you oli, I’m now 54 and got my ppl 4 years ago. I absolutely loved the training and love the flying. I so much wish I had the money at your age to do what you’re doing now and how passionate you are about it. Full respect, you have a wonderful future in front of you ❤

I agree with you wanting to visit Rome in more depth, as I love the Italian culture, food and way of life - obviously being a Catholic, I’d especially love to visit the Vatican, especially St Peter’s Square and the Sistine Chapel - I can only imagine that a lot of Bishops, Cardinals, Priests and Nuns travel on these flights too

Love your videos! What’s it like trying to adjust between late and early flights? And how often do you get to see your family considering you work some weekends and at night?
I go home to visit my family every 4 days off. So at least get to spend the evenings with them if the 4 days off are during the normal working week. Adjusting was quite hard at first, but after a few months I’m used to it.

Love the content. I was wondering when you join a flight school and get a ukcaa license, can you then fly for Emirates for example at some point in the future?
Yes I believe they will convert the licence if you have the requirements

Great video 📹 im not sure if you had mentioned it in previous videos. How many hours did you have before getting the airline job ?
Yes I think I mentioned previously, I was straight out of flight school so about 160
@@PilotOliA lot of videos mention 1500 hours. Is this more of an American thing? I was thinking of going through the full training on part-time basis. That number feels a lot more achievable! I was looking at aeros as they seem to offer part time fast track.
@@tullywoolly It is a requirement in the US. In Europe, this amount is not required.

Hi oli, great video as always. I am just wondering if you know how much more difficult the atpl ground school exams are than the ppl exams ?
I never did to ppl ones, but to my knowledge, ATPL are quite a bit harder and require a lot more study!

I Failed School from a academic point of view, I was wondering do you have to be academically inclined to become a pilot?
I believe most flight schools and airlines just require you to pass your GCSEs in Maths, Physics, English and another 2 (subjects don’t matter). The hardest requirement is the financial aspect of it all.
If you failed school you wouldn't be able to get into an integrated course, but provided you have the money you could start flight training on a part time basis
I was awful with school when I was younger, didn't leave with much. Trained modular in my own time and now flying 737's around 👍🏽 it's doable!
question: did you have to do a levels to enter a flight school. if so, which a levels would be the most helpful.
It’s not a requirement but it is recommended. I would suggest maths and physics to be most helpful

Prepare for the descent and arrival, sometimes I like to read over different manuals as there is so much to learn! But also a lot of chatting!
