Fun piece of trivia: The whole game they're playing here started because it was Liam's (Vax) birthday and he asked to play. It turns out that he shares a birthday with Laura (Vex) and so they decided to play twins as a lark. Nobody knew it would take off and become a thing.
The analysis of Vax in this very heavily shows the way Liam roleplays too.
@@JimCook1 I think if she listened/watched the actual game play instead of the amazon, she'd have a better analysis of them.
@@NogginNogs This. She would understand pretty much EVERY character much better if she watched the campaign...it's clear she's only watched the show. Which is fine. But hinders psychological analysis of the characters a little bit.
@@AnxietyRat that's the point of THIS though, analysis purely of the animated characters.
@@chipsalom I guess so ...and she does an amazing job with what content she has ....but it's not the full picture of the psychology of who the character actually is. And I think if she did see the campaign she would have an even more vibrant understanding of the characters, ya know? But yes, I understand the point of these videos....just wishing for more. Not many people do analyze the characters like this. But they are such rich characters...SO much can be said. And she doesn't have the full picture with just the animated content.
I think it's worth mentioning that Vax isn't simply secure in his attachments, he's reckless with his own well being. He's fatalistic enough to expect tragedy, and often seeks it out. Falling hard and fast for someone who isn't yet ready to do the same is pretty on form for him.
I think that aspect of his character will be easier to see next season.
That cosplay is wonderful and your analysis, as always, is informative and brings a new depth to these characters! Thank you!
My pleasure!
I have favorite scenes for every character, but probably the one that rings out for me at least so far is "Darling, take off the mask" in episode 12. I'm just a sucker for the Bad News Bears, I guess. There's a reason the first name from Vox Machina that the Demon put on the List was hers. She was the biggest threat to its ability to control Percy.
As the series goes on, it'd be really interesting to look at what it is about Percy and Vex that draws them together.
I believe what drew them together was loss. They understood each other, and like Vax. Percy was one of the only people to bring out her softer side.
I know they have a wonderful attraction to each other
@@kratkartan1486 Mic Dropping on her dad was his ultimate love letter to Vex.
@@nuru666 My FAVORITE moment in the entire campaign tbh
@@nuru666 I hope they do that moment justice in the cartoon â€
That is an apt analysis of the twins. Despite growing up together, their personalities went different paths, but they still understood each other. And when she beat him to a pulp, he wasn't mad. He was just glad that she was alive, and immediately reassured her everything was going to be ok with that little joke.
Also, top notch on the Vex cosplay. Makes me want to work on a Vax one.
You should completely do a Vax one. And thank you =)
The shift in her outward behavior towards Keyleth after she jumped into the path of Delilah's spell.
yes that would be a great video as well. That moment and how it changed their relationship to being a safe one for Vex
(This is gonna be long) Yeah, that was the moment when Vex had _kind of an awakening._ Vex spent a good portion of the show up till then sniping at Keyleth and warning Vax ( see Episode 5: Journey of Fate) about how they pulled through by sticking together and they didn't get "distracted by pretty things" and how "those vines have thorns" (both times the camera cuts to Kiki) indicating Vex feels like any girl (or guy) who turns Vax's eye will backstab him in one way or another just like they did to her. When KiKi leapt in front of Delilah's spell, Vex was shocked, remorseful and crushed that the person she been a pill towards and thought and convinced herself was going to betray Vax and break his heart just sacrificed herself for Vex and was even happy to do so despite the one-sided resentment.
One of my other favourite Vex "below the surface" moments pertaining to her attachment issues is how she handles Scanlan's abduction and close call in "Fate's Journey" - during the chase she says "I'm not dying for that gnome" but her reaction when they think Scanlan didn't make it says she's more attached than she lets on.
Yes that is very true I almost added those scenes to it. I probably should have in retrospect
@@GeorgiaDow You were focusing on the twins, so it made sense to me why they weren't included. Love the analysis!
Keyleth, Delilah, Vex and even Fem-Percy, your cosplay is as on point as your reviews.
yeah her cosplay when she does videos is great i really hope she keeps it up even when she gets bigger
Yay happy you liked it
Can't wait to see how pyke goes!
There is a book, Kith and Kin, that goes into more detail about their upbringing (big spoilers).
When they were taken to live with their emotionally neglectful/abusive father, Vax didn't care about his opinion from the start and made a few connections in the wider city, which Vex worked desperately hard to try and gain the approval and respect of their father and the broader society (elves who looked at humans/half-elves like they were dirt). When it went wrong and they were cruely rebuffed, she took it far harder I think, which is why she is so emotionally cut off. There is a line in the book when she's talking to a very creepy dude hitting on her where at the time she sees every act of kindness as coming with 'either a cost or a cruelty'.
In that book, before they join Vox Machina, the person she grows to trust when she's separated from Vax isn't who she thinks and betrays her, while the person Vax meets and bonds with has more integrity, so again, they've had different experiences with trusting people before.
that makes a a lot of sense.
I love how your analysis of their personality types at 1:12 reflects their characters' classes so well: Vex = distant, plays it safe = ranger, mostly shooting arrows from a distance; Vax = let's other in close, more of a risk-taker = rogue, rushing in to swipe with his daggers (yes, he does throw the daggers sometimes too, but he's more melee than ranged overall)
Maybe I'm late to figuring this out, but my Mind was just BLOWN when she talked about the differences in how Vax is willing to be more emotionally up front and take risks and how Vex is more distant and keeps everyone but a few people in. I never realised how well that applies to both the classes they played! Vax being a rogue and getting up close and personal and therefore more likely to get hurt, whereas Vex keeps her distance and prevents people from getting close to her!
= ) yay
And boy did he ever get hurt...a lot.
Yay Wonder Twins âșOne thing that stood out to me was how Vex kept bringing up Syngorn, obviously tring to reactivate the "it's us (and Trinket) against the world" mindset in Vax. I felt like she needed the reassurance that she could just grab her brother and her bear and bolt at a moment's notice- and Kiki got in the way of that.
In that light, that "We'll always be there for you" to Percy was HUGE.
When you were talking about control, that reminded me of the discussion between Sifu and Oogway from Kung Fu Panda 1, when the latter tried to reason with the former to convince him of letting go of the illusion of control and Sifu said:
"But there ARE things we CAN control."
*kicks tree and peaches fall down*
"I can control when the fruit will fall."
*a peach drops on his head unexpectedly*
"I can control where to plant the seed."
*splits a peach, removing the seed*
*punches ground to make a hole*
"these are NOT illusions, Master!"
*throws seed in hole*
And then Oogway calmly tells him "Ah yes, but no matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple, or an orange, but you will get a peach..."
Honestly, I can't blame Vex'ahlia for putting up walls to shut herself off from the rest of the world. She was ripped away from her only loving parent when she was just ten years old, raised by a neglectful father in a society that scorned her as a bastard, returns years later to find her mother and her entire hometown destroyed by an ancient red dragon, and kidnapped and (implied) nearly sexually assaulted by poachers not long after she and her brother set out on their own. No person is going to feel confident and wanted after almost two decades of near-continuous trauma and abuse.
She a relatable character
Great analysis, as always!
I haven't seen it so much in the animated series, but in the earlier live streams, Vax seems kinda reckless, he tends to dive into dangerous situations almost as if he has a death wish. It gives a little more nuance to their their "bravery vs. stupidity" conversation in the show. But then again, all of their situations are dangerous, so it can be hard for that to stand out.
One thing I have noticed in the animated series, is that they may argue about who the leader is (though interestingly, Vex doesn't participate in that argument), but Vex is very clearly the leader of the group. Whenever they start to hyperfocus on themselves and spiral, she's got a slap ready for them. At any point that an important decision is called for, she makes it. Whenever the group needs to get focused on a single goal, she's always the one calling out what that is, and they all immediately focus on that.
For example, in the "acid trap" sequence, they're all doing different things (or nothing) and she calls out "stop the acid!" and they focus on that. When that doesn't work, she yells out "get us out of the acid!" and they focus on that. Then she immediately identifies that they need Percy to solve the problem, and gets him back into a proper state of mind to come up with a plan. Mind you, she doesn't know how to accomplish any of these goals herself, she just gives everyone the goal so they can all work together to figure out how to do it, and then to execute their plan. That's pure leadership right there. She's a walking management class (though a modern HR department might have a problem with all the slapping).
I think Liam said something in an interview (or maybe one of the watch parties) to the effect of "Vox Machina doesn't really have a leader. The person whose skill is most relevant for the task at hand takes charge during that time. But also, Vex is the leader because we all look to her for guidance."
@@suntiger745 He might have, but the show is very clearly going with her being the leader.
Taliesin (Percy) said something along the lines of "there's no leader but if Vex is there then it's Vex"
I really hope the show gets to some of the more interesting twin moments and their relationships with others. its really interesting how each of them deals with their issues from childhood.
me too
Vex also is more open to stand in front of percy in the next episode, trusting him to not harm her. Arguably because her foundation with her brother was reestablished and very firm she was more willing to take risks with percy, in both a physical danger but also emotional one since if percy would not be able to hold back the demon it would be a betrayal of the trust she placed in him. It helps to know this slight spolier detail that she has a crush on the white haired gunslinger.
Yes I like how she interacts with Percy it may warrant its own video.
@@GeorgiaDow Oh please do
@@GeorgiaDow I would definitely love to see that! She does let him get closer than anyone else in the group, but (not to get too spoilery for the campaign stream) it's very telling what it takes for her to actually admit her feelings for him and take their relationship to the romantic level.
One thing I was thinking about, and these might not be quite the right words to describe it, but here it goes. Vex seems to function not only as though she sees Vax as the only one she trusts, but as a sort of extension of her concept of self. When he inevitably starts acting in a way that doesn't mesh with the "two as one" mentality she holds it's more than a fear of losing a close one, but a challenge to a fundamental worldview, a paradigm shift she isn't ready to confront.
I think she does see Vax as an extension of herself also
She has a problem with control, it came out every time Vax wanted to do something and be his own person.
watching these as someone who has watched all of campaign 1 i love seeing how you understand these people and i wonder how/if your analysis of them might change after season 2
I cant wait to find out myself
I would love to see you analyze Percy and Vex's relationship as she's probably the one person he opens up to. I'd add Keyleth in there, but I think you covered it already in both of their episodes.
Their talking to each other was really funny.
the critical role cast does an AMAZING job with making relationships/situations layered that compels a desire to break scenes down. their second streamed d&d campaign (the Mighty Nein) has had a lot of moments to reflect and analyze. and i think thats what got me hooked watching their show. and d&d itself is an amazing way to build empathy because youre experiencing the fantasy world in through another personâs eyes. it gets you to go through experiences you might not go through in real life, especially if youre playing another gender, age, or species. and the CR cast are such good voice actors and can portray a myriad of complex emotions through their face and voice.
and in turn, that helps the audience not only understand what their characters might be thinking/experiencing, but it also can help the audience try to understand where the characters are coming from when they might have not tried before.
i would absolutely love hearing your analysis on more Critical Role related content, its always interesting hearing what you have to say about a series that helped me, and a lot of others, so much interpersonally
Just have to say I LOVE your dedication to Cosplaying each of the characters you cover. It's so fun to watch, thank you for putting a smile on my face as always!
aww makes me happy thank you =))
What I really liked about the people who played the twins in the table game was that they became closer in real life and now they do think of each other as found brother and sister. It is very beautiful.
that is so sweet. Thanks for sharing it
Terrific! I wonder what your reaction would be to the second season that has just dropped the first three episodes. It gives flashbacks of Vax and Vex's childhood backstory and some of it hits pretty hard. (you might want to wait until the next set of episodes 4-6 are released next Thursday, since this ended on a massive cliffhanger between the two of them).
I was honestly hoping for individual analyses of these two. Vax is my favorite character. I love how he interacts with each member of the group on their terms. And every lady has a loving nickname from him. This ontop of how hes a rogue, which are typically hardened islands of personalities
Always loving these videos. It's nice to see education and entertainment mix
Glad you like them!
I cannot wait for your analysis of them in later seasons. Besides Keyleth, Vexâs character development was one of my favourites to watch during the campaign and Iâm excited for your insight! The twins are wonderfully intertwined characters whoâs dynamic is very entertaining to watch. Canât wait to see them come out of their shells!
I love this so much! I found you during your Arcane series, but as a huge Critical Role/LOVM fan, this is great! I'd love to see your take on Percy and the demon, but specifically the scene with him, Vex, and the mask. "Darling, take off the mask.".
I also thought that LOVM did a really good job showing Percy's PTSD throughout the show too.
Very apt and accurate breakdown. I enjoyed it. I will say that Vax isnât necessarily secure, more reckless with his own safety and well-being. This will most likely be more obvious in the next season.
You're Vax Cosplay is amazing and I really appreciate this deep dive, especially seeing where Vox Machina Ends up by the end of their campaign! I'm really loving this series!
Appreciate the compliment thanks I felt really good about this one
I'm surprised that you don't mention the moment when she says to Percy 'We will NEVER abandon you' because it feels like such a projection of what she might have wished for someone to have promised her, like their father or anyone else in their lives who wasn't her brother.
I think it shows a real moment of her shifting from that avoidant attachment (eg, being ready to flee at the keep without the rest of them) to taking a stand and promising Percy that he wouldn't be abandoned by them.
I just adore Vex so much she was always one of my favourite characters in the original DnD campaign and seeing her come to life on screen without losing any of the complicated emotions that made her character is so wonderful đ„°đ„°
I love your analysis of her and Vax, I think it's very spot on.
I will in my next video
Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien have said they made a conscious effort to realize their characters this way.
oh wow that is so impressive. wonder what they would think of the video
I'd love to see video about 'Infinity Train'.
anther show with Ashley Johnson
I love this analysis! Tha fact that Vax's entire rogue build and character was risk and seeing that even his desire for Keyleth is an act of risk was such an interesting idea, that this cute element of the campaign was actually very connected to the root aspects of Vax and that the control aspect of Vex is in conflict with his risky decisions. It is just beautiful.
they are so good together their differences match
I wonder what you guys thought of the Sun Tree scene? That one broke me (had not watched CR campaign 1) as much as any scene in TV/Movie I could think of.
It was really beautiful wish I had placed in the video
@@GeorgiaDow There's a few Sun Tree scenes. Are we referring to the hangings or something else?
@@richardcrowe3091 She may be referencing either the scene where Keyleth forms a connection with the Sun Tree in order to take down Sylas or the scene in the last episode where Vex shows confidence in Keyleth and her ability to travel with the group through the Sun Tree. In the episode where she covered Delilah, she kind of touched on the events that led up to that other Sun Tree moment you're thinking of.
4:06 what can't be known can't be harmed, but also can't be loved.
I think a good strategy in this is to choose carefully who really gets to know you.
Yes that is a good point
These just keep getting better!
My two favourite characters. I loved their relationship from start to finish of the campaign and beyond. Reminded me of my own sibling. There's truly no understating how incredibly meaningful and important that first campaign was to me, and seeing people enjoying the animation of one of VM's greatest moments together is so lovely. Your analyses are great, keep it up â€ïž
I do love that the group makes for a great study of interpersonal relationships. These people are awesome as people, not just as characters
Great Video!! its hard to pick out a favourite scene because the show has so many. I think the most impressive thing about the show is that it has a big cast of characters and they all have a moment of greatness. All of them thinking they are just a bunch of misfits all step up and be awesome together.
I love these videos! I hope there are more coming!
More to come!
This looks like that one scene from the show were Keyleth stole VexÂŽs bow Fenthris or the other when she in a drunken stupor took her blue feathers. What I am saying here is that you look like Keyleth trying to cosplay vex. Which would make sense given that Keyleth thinks that Vex is just the coolst as she said many times
I love that you are doing this off the show and fans have much more content to confirm your theories. And as a fanâŠ.good job.
thank you thank you
GAHHHH! This is exactly what I wanted, thank you for listening to my comment! I am so excited for you to see their growth in Season 2.
I love these videos!
Vax is my absolute favorite with Vex a close second, so thank you for doing this one. I'd love to have seen you go more into their individual personalities, though. For me, Vex's relationship with Scanlan was particularly interesting in the show.
I will be doing vex and Percy hope you enjoy that one
4:00 at this stage of the live playthrough, vexahlia was already kind of a thing, percy would craft stuff for vex and she was affectionate towards him, though both needed a "kick" as what occurs after the Whitestone arc, I believe the line is Liam catching on it and pushing Vex in that dirrection, though I also like your analysis, and may have been intentional for this series
Another great video, and really useful for my current book! Youâve got my sub.
thank you = ) i hope you find it well earned
Always on Point, Thank you. Eventually you will hit my crazy and I look forward to it.
In war archery the arrows and quiver were at our sides of the hips. If the arrows are on the back it's harder to draw without breaking them (in case of longbow) and we could lose them if we were to move around too much. Only in sport archery we have them on our backs because we're not in a hurry.
Just a trivia for those who care.
Excellent Video! I'm excited for more to come and hope you enjoy how things will go in the future. I started Campaign 1/Vox Machina over a year ago and although I am still catching up, there's a lot of good things to come that I think you will enjoy.
i will be continuing on for sure
ThanksâŠI enjoyed your analysis and gained new knowledge. Blessings on your day.
thank you Jeff
Once again, cosplay game is on POINT. It's amazing how well you get these two considering most of their development/backstory hasn't come up. Very exciting to see these!
Love the in-depth analysis here, especially on Vex having an avoidant personality. Never saw that before
Thank you! I love your take on the twins' attachment styles. That was really useful in better understanding those two characters. And it also explained to me why I relate a lot to Vex although we have very different personalities.
I also love your cosplay! â€ïž
thank you and I am happy it was helpful
If the show ever goes deeper into the campaign I would love an in-depth look at vax (my personal favorite) also amazing cosplay and I love your analysis of all of the characters itâs really cool to learn more about characters that I have spent a lot of time with. Thank you for what you do irl also
Same, Vax is my fave and Vex my least fave so it's annoying when they're always paired together
been getting recommended these vids for a while and I gotta say
Your cosplays are very nice!
really they were recommended to you =) thats great and happy you decided to try one out.
Oh... Brand new video! Thanks
welcome
I loved your Arcane and adore Vox Machina - I can't wait for an in-depth of Pike!
But more than that, I find your very empathetic but largely grounded perspective for each character, good or bad as a full person, wonderful. It teaches much better understanding without necessarily pushing for unhealthy areas of sympathy.
I also really connected with all the times you addressed superfeelers and sensitivity, and your experience as one. I'm going through my own journey, but one where my superfeels and senses overloaded and shut down - I'm coming back from it and it's really nice to connect to someone's work and feel seen ^_^
Thank you for seeing me also ! And Pike is coming up this week. It is hard to be a super feeler but also beautiful when you get to knowing how to turn it down when needed
â@@GeorgiaDow Mhm!
I'm on the HSP spectrum too.
It hasn't always been great, and I've had to live with it turned down most of the time because of a very overbearing environment, but those times I get to just be are overwhelmingly wonderful.
I'm finally starting to get out from that place, and having to learn to accept not just the superfeels, but also this other person I've had to live as to get by.
I really enjoy your videos and you often point out things that I sometimes miss -it's really fun, especially those busy weeks I can't watch something with a friend to compare notes.
Appreciate you ^_^
I've really been enjoying your Vox Machina analysis / reactions.
Thank you Brad appreciate it
With Scanlan, Vex is my fav from the Vox Machina Campaign. A lot of it comes from Laura being an amazing and smart player :) ! And btw that cosplay of Vex looks sooo good on you ! Also great analysis of the twin's relationship and Vex mental struggles.
As a twin I have been through this with my brother getting married, but they have become part of the family and now their daughter is my daughter.
thanks for covering this series :)
youre welcome
This is slowly becoming one of my favorite channels đ§Ąđ§Ąđ§Ą
That brought me such joy
Same.
Itâs ironic, the difference between the campaign and the animated series: In the Campaign, Vax was the more avoidant type, to the point that his catchphrase was âAnd I walk awayâ for how many times he would avoid talking about things and go off to brood alone lol
Once again, I have to admit, Your voice is MAGICAL. Aslo, since you're the only therapist I actually like, can you please make a video about developing self confidence?
yes I can do that and thank you for the kind words
I agree!
Another great analysis! And such a great cosplay!
Thanks so much it was a lot of fun
Wow, I blame the algorithm for not finding you before now! I hope you have a big back catalogue for this nascent subscriber to binge!
Yay I hope you enjoy the binge and stay =)
Yes. Thank you. I love these two.
You're welcome đ
I can't help but wonder what will happen if and when they get to the bathtub scene. It is intresting for the sibling dynamic and reminds me of when Vex was warning Vax about Keyleth. Granted I didn't actually watch the campaign, so I don't have any idea when in the time line it is. Still even I know about it.
What lies beneath the surface
The twins have such a great dynamic, you really did a wonderful job of showing that playful but protective thing they've got going on. Also, A+ cosplay!
Appreciate you !
I'd love u analyze the wilds so many different characters to talk about. Really enjoyed ur vox machina videos
I love this! If you read the book Kith and Kin, you get to see Vexâs trauma from trusting her father in Syngorn only to be let down when he turns out to be a horrible father, and it really affected how she would interact with others from then on. Vax definitely was able to get past their shared trauma with a more open vulnerability because he didnât let his father get in his head, but Vex had a tougher time. So she definitely began to rely on Vax alone, leading to the person you see in the show. I love them so much â€ïž
She does seems to open up a bit more with Percy in the road to Whitestone and at the end before rushing into the tree Kiki opened up, she give him a playful punch to the arm before running in.
I love the cosplayyyy
Also like super fun to see analysies abt these characters ive known for yrs i love it here. The twins are greatâĄâĄâĄ
(Genuinely curious what the analysis would be of other media of these two đ) ALSO OH GODS I JUST LOVE VAX SM HE'S SO SOFTT
Happy you liked the cosplay I did also =)) and yes they are wonderful characters.
So if anyone is interested in learning more of Vex and Vax before they joined Vox Machina, and their time in Syngorne, their book that released a few months ago; Kith and Kin, is a fantastic read or listen. The audio book is narrated by Robbie Daymond with Laura and Liam voicing their characters lines. I very much suggest it if anyone wants more without sitting through hundreds of hours of gameplay
I watch your channel mainly to find out about new tv shows and video games that would be awesome for me to watch/play. So far I have watched arcane and played hellblade thanks to your channel. I think I will watch the legend of vox machina now as well! Thank you Georgia, you are an excellent commentator!
thanks that means a lot to me. You made me smile =)
Ok at this point im convinced that she has that magical microphone that magicly changes your Outfit into whatever you want from that one Barbie movie i saw when i was a kid
Hahaha that is great =))
Hey Georgia Dow, can you also do the 1950âs movie, The Seven Samurai and talking about the characters personalities and so on!? Assuming youâve watch the Seven Samurai movie growing up like I did.
that is a great film
I feel that the fight between Percy and cassandra or Percy's confrontations with all the people on the list have a lot of stuff to unpack that I would love a deep dice on
I think Percy's expression of belief also carries additional weight because he is also from a noble family and understands the responsibility that comes with that.
This was yet another amazing video and your cosplay... just wowđđ„!!!!
It's it possible to make individual videos of the twins, to get their own development and character arcs
PS. it's probably me wanting to hear Vex saying "Darling" or "My love"
I love how she says that also. And I may we will see how many people want it
For their individual analysis I would honestly wait for at least season 2 to conclude, if we're going by the animation. There will be a lot happening during the Chroma Conclave arc (even if season two will only cover part of the arc), including the twins becoming less co-dependent on each other, that makes it easier to do a solo profile on them.
The events in the tomb especially. IYKYK.
YES make a vox machina compilation here, or more voc vids, im in love with it đłđł
Yes please on the compilation!
did anyone else notice that when vex and vax are sleeping in that scene Vex is using Vax's cloak as a blanket?
Oh my... the costume, the hair style the arrows... everything is just too perfect for Vex! If you had brown hair, that would have enhanced the image a bit, but it is already pretty spot on, even without it!
I don't know what your acting ability is, but you can look like her and you understand her personality... I consider those very important. *Knowing* a character is probably the most underestimated thing of acting as an already existing character.
Aww thanks so much such kind compliments. I did think of doing some hair colouring also btw I agree would have just pushed it over.
You should analyze Hannibal Lecter from the TV Series âHannibalâ or Moriarty from BBCs âSherlockâ
that would be great yes
I started this expecting to see the legend of vox machina with extra dialogue here there, but I was THRILLED to see that I was wrong.
You used exactly the pieces you needed and explained what what wanted without showing too much of the show.
This is amazing.
Thank you for this.
This is what reactions should be
Thank you for noticing and giving me specific feedback for the parts you enjoyed it is very helpful for me and our channel. Appreciate you
Loved the cosplay for this episode. I didn't really think about it during the show, but Vex really did give you a whole lot more to chew on than Vax. I am sure that we will delve deeper into Vax's character/psyche next season, because he absolutely has a lot to unpack.
they are great characters
Something I noticed during the fight between Vex and Vax is that because Vex is trying not to hurt her brother, she's losing and getting cut while Vax remains unharmed. After realizing that she needs to fight seriously or she'll lose, she closes her eyes while punching him because she doesn't want to see that she's the one beating her brother to a pulp.
yes she cant bear to see what she is doing to him
Theres an official book titled Kith and Kin that is based on Vex and Vax's life before meeting Vox Machina, its 34 chapters and how growing up as half elves in a majority Human settlement and then being taken to a majority Elven city formed the people they became. And it also offers much more information on the death of their mother.
I think it would be cool for you to review podcast Vex/Vax or even Percy, there is a lot more depth bc it's hundreds of hours worth of context, absolutely love this series
yes I am only doing the show cause it would be too long to get it not but who knows maybe in the future
YES! I was hoping for a Vex-cosplay :D Lookit yooouuuu! You nailed it again!
Vex is one of my absolute favourite characters! She is top notch cool, with snarky one liners that hit a home run, but at the same time, once you start scratching on her surface, you can see what a HUGE heart she has. It just takes time to get there with her :3 I love the moment of her and Percy in the wagon, joking about the b*tch-faces :D They are both so good with sudden one liners and mic drops, it's fun to see them go at each other :3
She's also got this thing with money, that's why she wants to be there to haggle with Gilmore. Laura Bailey, the voice of Vex, said that it has to do with the twins growing up and not really having any money, so now that they do have money, Vex wants to make sure they don't get into the situation of no money again.
I am going to do a percy and Vex also cause i really like their chemistry. Happy you liked the cosplay
One of my favorite scenes in the original source material is when Vex does drop her walls and allows herself to be vulnerable with someone besides Vax.
And that's all I will say to avoid spoilers.
I wonder if I should do a percy Vex episode their connection is electrical
i don't know how Georgia Dow would feel about video games, But I think the Psychonaught games would be a fun subject for her considering the Levels are the mindscape of some of the characters Raz (the MC) meets and how his actions change a person's way of thinking. Or seeing how a character thinks and deals with their mental torment a few notable examples of subjects in this game are how Agent Milla deals with guilt, Fred Bonapartes Defeatism, Gloria Von Gluton's mood swings and When Raz's Father learns what Raz see's him as
I will LITERALLY watch any Vox Machina/Critical Role content that you put out! :D
awesome =) there is more to come
I think a great detail added to the show is Vex becoming the defacto leader. She is always giving orders and when the party are about to die in the Briarwoods trap they looked to her for direction. Which she was confused about because she didnt even realise she's in that position to the group
yes and how people look to her. I think that would also be a good video group dynamics and leadership
@@GeorgiaDow Oh, I love that idea!
I'd love to see you make an analysis on Pike. Her inner turmoil and rediscovering of her faith weren't shown in the stream. It would be awesome to see it from a specialist's point of view!
Well just for you Laura, it will be up on Thursday

The campaign has more interesting moments. For example, in the final battle against the lord and lady (not gonna attempt to spell their names), the one where the lord is killed, Vax gets knocked out and nearly dies. Vex freaks out. There are also two moments (when he gets bitten and jumps through the window and when he goes to save Cassandra (in the campaign he's the first in, knowing it's a trap but going to try to save her anyway)) where he gets knocked out and the player, Liam, clearly states that some of his last thoughts are of Keylith and Vax. Interestingly, at least for the first two examples, I'm pretty sure he thought Vex was actually about to die.
The campaign ha a lot of interesting moments.
I'm already hoping for a video discussing about Pike
