They nerfed the crap out of cata raid content. I don't see why anyone would desire to run through cata when the pinnacle of cata was the great raids.
Also, archaeology doesn't put dots on your map. Fishing is a secondary that does that, but not archaeology.

They are super aware of the bugs but yet if you have professions leveled on a character that you then boosted using their discount it would actually kill your professions making them 0/0 and completely unable to unlearn them to re-level them. Feels great spending money tanking characters for all of the pre-patch to get automated blizzard responses with weeks of no fixes or even attempts to fix them.
As someone who now decided to play Priest in Cata (Disc and Shadow, aka im gonna need FOUR items from this shit), has spend a week digging and found the shield TWICE and nothing else....it's a cancer and Blizzard, who could heal us, tells us "You have to enjoy the cancer and not hope we heal you", ignoring the fact that we could spend our time actually preparing for Cata instead of pulling the digging lever over and over and over and over and overandoverandoverandoverandoverandoverandover....ending up with nothing. BIS items locked behind insane rng is not a bit "grindy" it's lazy, shit desing, nothing else

I am pissed about the news of archeology. I only have 100 solves in trolls because im a casual player. But they have made it unfindable to get those epics in archeology. Its sickening. It needs to be fixed to where after your 100th solve. You are guaranteed to get the epic in there. Thats what i want. Sounds reasonable. Right?
100th solve? literally every single person would have the items if they put the bar that low...
@slumberingsam I'm accounting for peaples laziness as well. Not everyone wants to devote even 5 hours to souly doing just archeology. Especially If they just joined the game on cataclysm pre patched. And it's just one epic. Hardly makes a difference if it's your only one starting out. You get to enjoy it before raiding time as well. Instead of replacing the weapon when you get to the first raid. It's good. But it will be quickly replaced.
@slumberingsam currently there is a player who devoted 158 hours into archeology and 2000 solves later and still has found only the shield. And that's not what he even wanted.
@@coryadams1159 I think some form of progression should be built into the system so we can have some sense of working towards getting the epic items... but you are essentially asking for free epics to be handed to everyone...
@slumberingsam atleast the epics would be used before discarded after just the first raid. By the second raid everyone won't even be looking for them anymore because there is better and much more easily obtainable gear available than the ones in archeology.
why would they not bad luck protect you for the items and the toys a little more rare if they want people grinding?
Watched the interview earlier and all their answers told me was that they've completely misread the classic player base. The answer to pre nerf vs post nerf was jaw droppingly out of sync.

I just enjoy player feedback with concerns to LFR we will see what the community wants, translation is they will give us what they feel they want due to statistics. Have they asked for feedback on Archaeology? have they got a poll ready for the community? I think you will get 90 percent people saying they don't want to grind their time away.....

i went oom in the first couple weeks of beta.
then i logged out for two weeks.
then i logged back in and i was still oom
3 days ago on prepatch, i died in STV.
i was queued for bgs. i took queue but could not resurrect.
i left queue and still could not resurrect.
i logged out and back in and was still not able to resurrect.
i logged out for two days and finally was able to resurrect when i came back
i'm most likely gonna wait for wrath and tbc era servers.
it was fun and interesting. for like 4 weeks.

I’m canceling my subscription. And the last taste of wow I’ll have is wasting over 100 hours digging for no reason. All I had to hear was “some people enjoy it.” THATS GREAT! If they enjoy it that much nothing stops them from digging forever.
normally i give blizzard leeway on these things bc i know it can be hard to please everyone but i dont even play classic and even i know nobody actually enjoys doing hundreds of hours of archaeology lmao. i want to meet the type of player they base these decisions off of
Pretty clear Blizzard is choosing to put as little improvement into Classic as possible. They know each expansions content will be over in a year, no point of investing time and money improving the game.
They can't even hire people prepared to answer questions either, did they pick those people from the Madi Gras or what?
Ok let me explain to you nerds. WoW classic Cataclysm is not a limited time even. However, MoP remix is. So why not just forget about Cata until they fix all the garbage.
Cata will have Dragon Soul, the last tier of the expansion, release in January. What are you even talking about?

As someone that works in business you should never go to a meeting or interview looking that that lady. If they both were dressed to kill and looked professional this would have came off so much better. Yup I’m out already. I mean games are fun don’t get me wrong, but take this interview serious for the fans and have fun when it’s done. I was on the fence about cata and after watching this I’m 100% out. Not having a whole lot of fun in sod either so I’m probably going to let my sub expire until phase 4.
So far my experience in cata is raiding with 1 char once a week, did 3 zones of questing clearing for achievement farming 150hours of archaeology for staff and not getting it, so yeah basically wasted my time and barely played my chars, fun time
you did questing for an achievement. Dont complain - your time obviously has no value if you do stuff like that. also cata is not out maybe wait for release before complaining about the game
@@futagoza4540 yea im not really complaining about the Cata expansion itself but more like the prepatch where we are supposed to experiment with skills and prepare out characters for the release but being in a semi hardcore guild where having prebis is required i had to prio getting the item i need for my main character. Being screwed on RNG doesnt feel good but more like opening lootboxes and getting nothing but if i dont farm the staff i may not get a spot in the raids and having spent that much time and quit few days before release is just middle finger from blizzard to my time spent ...
why would blizzard take time to change the profession becasue losers want to min pre raid bis gear even though the normal loot is better than the archeology stuff and also the pvp weps are better.

Of course the items are "BIS for a short time, but there are plenty of other ways to get equipment.
It's never been a secret that archaeology is completely randomized, it was that way back in the days of the original Cata and it's that way now - I like to remind you of the alchemy recipe.
And of course an optional side profession, which many now only grind because they have nothing else to do, has much less relevance than level or raid content.
To complain about the fact that you spend hundreds of hours on an optional activity and have no luck is again typical of classic players.

You dont have to go ham on archeology, the fact that its random and small % chance was know and if you then spend 150 hours on it that is on you. Making it guaranteed would literally require people to grind archeology for GDKPs and as you say get Benched in raids for not doing it. Get rekt, keep optimizing the fun out of the game!

Doesnt get replaced by normal item. its the same itemlevel. In fact, its the only staff that drops for casters. No idea why people that have no clue have to gaslight others
@@Blubking1 there is no staff because Main and off Hand combo is just better. Plus the normal Mode main+off Hand are better then the staff so it doesnt matter just as u said.

The shield I've sank over 200 hours into that hasn't procced is bis till heroic raids... the sword I'll be sinking abother 200 hours into is bis till heroic raids... I've seen the mount the pets and about a bazillion 1-5 gold vend trash items from fossils... which doesn't even make sense given both Dwarven and self have procced 200g items multiple times... something is certainly fucky and it's fossils and trolls proc rate

They really fucked up on the archeology no protection, a lot of players are now burnt out and most of them don't even have their epics. They released all these fun things like transmogs and collections and shit and we are stuck doing fucking archeology for the possibility of a reward. Excuse the language its just been an awful experience and dampened all the excitement I had for cataclysm.
I am now 3k+ solves I got my shield early on I just recently got sword and i'm still chasing staff, which I get while i'm not super lucky I did get one of my chases and there are people further than me who haven't.

Blizz thinks their shill content creators are gonna keep them afloat with their viewer base. WOW is trash now. SoD was ruined and became retail within a few months, Cata was garbage, and everyone knows it. It was the downfall of WoW. People just forget because it's been so long. Playerbase will drop 70% in the first month of Cata. Especially if the casuals play it. That's when WoW went back to being grindy and hard after people got used to a more casual version of WoW in Wrath. Lots of prebis is from faction rep exalted. Heroic dungeons are harder than some raids lol. The whole leveling to 85 was boring as hell too. Blizz killing their game yet again. They thought they could sneak in retail changes in SoD slowly and get us hook3d on retail again. Players saw it coming at dipped. Blizz never learns. I have been done since P2 SoD. I gave it a shot but it sucked.
