Let me start by saying I am a christian, & I hope that does not put you off immediately.
Secondly, I appreciate the concerns you raise in this talk. It is very sad that questions regarding faith are not usually answered well, leading to people losing their faith.
I have contended with the issues myself, but I still remain a believer. Which is why I comment. I would really like to engage with you on some of this topics.
Not because I have all the answers 😂, believe me I don’t.
When I say engage you I don’t mean that in any combative way. I only wish to listen to your concerns & only give answers where I can. In other words, I would like to have conversations with you about these issues. Not to convert you or win some debate, but just to talk.
I don’t know if that is even possible. But in case you see this & are interested, let me know.
At the risk of repetition, I have really had a conflict within on whether or not to write this comment (for months now I believe). So I’m taking my shot to see what happens (fingers shaking as I type). Feel free to ignore or turn me down, its all good 😊. But I really wish to engage in this kind of talks (& to be clear, I don’t mean on national television 😂).

Applying logic is not finding fault! If you genuinely decide to understand the bible for what it is only working with facts and logic, and not a mythical idea like the "holy spirit", without bias because you are after God's favour or trying to secure a place in heaven and most importantly without fear of thinking (because religion thrives off of fear of the unknown i.e not knowing what happens after we die and threats of eternal suffering if you do not believe basically giving an ILLUSION OF FREE WILL! Then you will really see the bible for what it is a psychological weapon that controls thinking which makes it's a perfect tool to rule and conquer! It's upto to you to seek the truth for yourself, nobody will do the work for you.

This would mean that while some of the things in the Bible applied only to the people back then, there are also things that do not apply to us today. What would deny me raising the claim that Jesus, or, let's say, Paul, was set in the time of the traditional Israeli society and not my small village in Kenya, where we had our own forms of practises that had nothing to do with them? I find it to be a double standard to agree to some things in the Bible and accept some of them. Thus, one needs to adopt it to the letter or do away with it. Or else, use it as a good guide based on the instructions it gives, just like any philosophical book, without needing to believe in the existence of God at any given time.

Applying logic is not looking for fault!

Bob Marley acknowledged the existence of Jesus Christ. What are you on? He only rejected religion. Working with "facts and logic" only means, you fail to recognise the existence of a soul/spirit. Then go quote a very spiritual person like Bob. /??????/ How can there be illusion of free will If what is written is meant to protect you and uplift you. Pluuuss forgiveness is free. Have you ever actually practically lived the life of a devout Christian, year to year for years? Cos I have.

@@collettemagana7193 because there is no way to God without Jesus. Bob marley came to understand that despite being a rastafarian. Facts and logics is simply practical ways of living. So read books that address that..i.e proverbs, sirach. Spiritual books are meant to draw you to God through prayer and show off God's might. Not threaten you.
I quoted Jesus because He condemned churches a lot. Jesus was more of a spiritual person than a church mouse.
The christian church was founded by Peter and Paul.
Saying you reject the holyspirit is the same as rejecting God. Because God is a spirit and He is also the son and the father.
Be careful that you are not mislead my dear. The Bible which you reject, clearly speaks on this. People rejecting God and choosing to listen to their own wisdom.
Be extra extra careful that you are not deceived. It is better an atheist, than a lukewarm believer in "God". Go all in or not at all.

Like the constitution of a particular land....It takes lawyers to assist clients to interpret the clauses in a case of a client before the judge....
Similarly it takes the HOLY SPIRIT to help HUMAN BEINGS who desire to know to UNDERSTAND HOLY WORD(scripture). Minus help of Spirit of God. Scripture would just be like any other literature works....
The holy word read under the influence of the Spirit of God...Is a life changing FORCE... Anyone who has tried would attest to this as true....
If a word entering or coming forth is backed by Spirit of God.... Only those who are tuned in Spirit will decern.
    Word of God is DECERNED.
