I was one of the millions.
Yep
Hahahaha! It's the accuracy for me!

Me. For a moment I was six years old again...
The dude who noticed the blue R2 unit in the X-wing that is damn impressive observation
For me it was 1st that the X-Wing was a T-65 B not the T-70's we saw earlier in the season and then seeing the blue astromech , I was convinced and lost my mind , waited 37 years to finally see Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker in his prime.

don't you wish you could have seen this for the first time in a theater, filled with fans ?
like that idea. Me and friends have a Christmas day marathon of mando it was great this year
I was just thinking this!! I would pay anything to experience it!!
If you thought Thor showing up in wakanda or Cap in the train station were nuts, this eruption would've had corona take its ass back to China
I would've lost it. To bad we didn't get a good Luke in the sequel trilogy.
I very vocally proclaimed "the fuck was that!!!" In the theater when Luke "died"......so ya I would have gone straight bananas
The moment every kid who grew up with Star Wars literally waited decades for.
This is how you respect a fandom.
I first saw Star Wars in 1977 when it originally came out; I was 24. Now at 67, I wept seeing Luke's return. I see that it affected so many young people so powerfully as well. This is the legacy that will live always.
think huge praise has to be given to all those who have worked on Mandalorian they have done so much justice to the lore and you can tell its been worked on by people who love it and are fans themselves. its a shame the Luke we all wanted to see as fans is going to have to be CGI
I agree. I've been a fan since I was a kid: I'm now 43. I say this without shame: I was brought to tears when I saw this. Thank you to the people who made this masterpiece of television possible.
Hi fellow old fart. I missed A New Hope due to living out in the sticks, but I still heard about it and I was intrigued. When The Empire Strikes Back was released I saved up enough money to get to the nearest town with a cinema. They ran a double feature with both A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. It was almost a religious experience.
I kept coming back, the fifth time they let me in without paying admission.
May the Force be with you old-timer
Or at least as long as we do - subsequent generations have the prequels, or worse, the sequels, as their legacy and sadly won't have the same connection.
"I'm Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue THIS WHOLE FRANCHISE"
let's stop and say this. 4 months after this episode and every time we see Luke's reveal, we are all still tearing up and crying in ecstasy.
True story.
I cry even watching the reactions and im 36 years old...
YupâŠ.
So, it's been 8 months, and I just cried like a baby...again. Only Star Wars fans can understand...it's like we're all kids again, and our hero just walked in the door.
admit it....a year later....
we're still crying at the reveal.....
I just did. Uncontrollably.
It's not the excited fans that got me. It's those couple of guys sitting there silent, tears streaming down their faces.
I felt that. The whole Galaxy felt that.
@@robertbeisert3315 oh I know. I was one of those that did the same thing
The scene with Luke, Grogu and the Mandalorian, not only was the highest point in 2020, it will go down as one of the highest points in television history. May the force be with you.
Luke meant si much to so many people, it was so sad to see his character assasinated in the disney trilogy and then be told you are a piece of shit for not liking those movies... this makes it so heartwarming to see the reactions of seeing him done properly
Oh yes. I totally understand the discomfort of many fans with the latest trilogy. And to see fans embrace the redeemed Luke was heartwarming.
Yes!!!!!!!!
Favreau and Filoni need to in charge of all of it. Kick Feige and Kennedy out.
It took 8 minutes for one episode of The Mandalorian to recapture the glory of Star Wars that 3 sequel trilogies could not do in 4.5 hours.
ThatÂŽs correct commander!
17:13 - 19:00
1 Minute and 47 seconds that changed the entire feels of the fans.
1 Minute and 47 seconds of excellence
1 Minute and 47 seconds did more for Star Wars than 7 hours of Sequels ever did for the franchise
Well Done!!!
The sad part isâŠI didnât WANT to believe it was Luke. Even after seeing the X-Wing. The hood. The green. The robotic arm. I denied it again and again and again even as tears filled my eyes and the music swelled. I kept saying, âPlease donât do this, donât do this to me, donât do this,â etc. Even though I denied it, deep down in my heart, I think I already knew. Iâd been so jaded from the sequel trilogy, where they unceremoniously snatched Luke Skywalker away from us and ripped his character to shreds before our eyes.
But when the music quiets and the hood comes down, and he looks up, hands folded and standing thereâŠthatâs when it all came down. I was twelve years old again, my hero in full glory: Luke Skywalker, who taught me perseverance and faith still mattered even when things looked dark.
Thank you, Favreau, Filoni, and of course, Mark Hamill.
You gotta love how luke dispatches two dozen dark troopers, then enters a room with heavily armed mandalorians and just stands there like he's waiting in line at Starbucks.
Obi-Wan was right: He has learned patience.
Somebody please do a scene of Luke waiting at Starbucks

I bet even Mark Hamill shed a tear when he finally saw this. I know I did.
Well, he was on set. The fights were done by a stunt guy, but once he enters the bridge, that was him, just CG'd, and that was him talking.
I saw a video, made by the CZcamsr Star Wars Comics, in which Mark Hamill thanks Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau for this.
@@jamesspring4610 I am extremely thankful and pleasantly amazed Mark Hamill's presence on set was not leaked.
@@jamesspring4610 I'd thank them to. This episode was reparation.
I cried. Hell, I'm crying now. This episode was the best thing I have ever seen in terms of emotion, nostalgia and pride. 3 franchises has always done this to me: Star Wars, Tron and Transformers.
Can I add LoTR and Pirates of the Caribbean bro
This episode proved that great storytelling is all that truly matters. Yeah, we all had the shock and awe moment with Luke... but look how much emotion - from EVERYONE - was displayed from the simple act of Din taking off his helmet for Grogu. When you're invested in the characters, the story, the damned context... something so seemingly small means so much.
Crazy how five minutes of a Gremlin puppet elicited more emotion than all of the recent movies combined.
For one brief moment in 2020, people came together
Luke shows up:
The guys cry, the girls got excited.
Mando opens his helmet:
The girls cry, the guys are calming down.

That's right,,35 years most been waiting to see the chosen one son,,grand f n master Luke,,not some broken down guy pulling green milk

Guys were crying because they knew it was Luke. Girls were like "it's a jedi." After revealing his gloved hand and saber hilt. "Is it Ezra?" I was like, "really?" Have you SEEN Return of the Jedi?
I think most knew when just the 1 x wing showed up just the walk,,like anikans death march on the temple I knew,,it was epic
I agree but then there was me in complete denial that they would actually allow us to have that even with all the clues screaming at me, a part of me, the jaded, old and gray fan who's been waiting 40 years didn't believe it until the hood came off.
We don't have enough time to introduce a jedi at this point
Dave Faloni: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of every age allow me to introduce the only jedi that needs no introduction..."
âI am so uncontrollably not OK!â And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the mark of a good story!
A guy removes his helmet and wrecks people emotionally... well earned tears Favreau and Filoni !!!
This is what great story telling is. We all know Mando's creed and for him to show his face to Grogu shows how much he loves him. A story of love is the still the greatest way to pull an audience. Thank you Jon Favreau for this beautiful piece. And for the opposite reason, I hated the sequels (whether you're a hardcore fan or not) as it never told a coherent or character building story. If Rey dies, no one will give a shyte.
@@amanmurdo9099 Perfectly said, The Mando is Star Wars not the "sequels".
I love watching the facial expressions as they process the arrival of the x-wing. Some it is almost instant, some it comes in stages. What an amazing show.
Agreed. Everyone's mind was blown at the same moment.
It is Thanksgiving 2023. I came back here after a Star Wars marathon with my husband and this still gives me chills.
The reactions were so real Only Star Wars Fans can understand..
Still đą crying đą while watching the end scenes..
Pedro Pascal deserves an award for this role. The way he looks uncomfortable without his helmet. He looks vulnerable and kinda scared and for Mando to take it off for Grogu not once but twice, the second time being when he says goodbye just tells you how much he grew to LOVE him. With everyone else around him at that time friends and enemies he didnât care about anyone seeing him shed tears when saying goodbye to Grogu. When he swore to that creed he thought NOTHING could ever make him show his face. Throughout the series many tried to tempt him but he wouldnât do it not even to save his own life. Of the 3x he took it off 2 were for Grogu. The emotions Mando was going through realizing Grogu was leaving him really broke his heart. He cried for Grogu cause it hurt him and didnât care who saw him crying
It is hard to explain to those not in the know, how absolutely important this scene was to the franchise and to the fans. We NEEDED this after decades and decades of waiting and a sequel trilogy that turned Master Luke into Master Fluke....we needed this.
Did anyone else burst out laughing at the "great, one X-wing, we're saved" line?
It was more like that knowing smirk along the line of "More than you realize."
I did!
It's been months since this episode and I'm still getting choked up watching these reaction videos.

That would be Preview'd. Solid pair.
Could tell they were feeling like kids again sitting in a theatre
If you mean the two separate guys, that would be Sicklater and Star Wars Theory, the guy from Star Wars Theory actually has a deep story with Lukeâs character, since he was his childhood hero and Star Wars made him happy and motivated to overcome cancer, so yeah, itâs safe to asume that those tears were more than just nostalgia
@@l3moh94, I believe he's referring to Adam & Jay from Preview'D.
Awesome guys...
"Well that narrows it down a little bit!" Probably the greatest shared moment of 2020.
Kudos to everyone else nailing it at Xwing. I didn't get it until the color reveal. It's Luke!
The moment when Luke arrives on the scene, seeing fans both new and old be completely ecstatic and/or a teary eyed mess was just incredible. And the fact that it did not stop once the scene moved on to Din and Grogu's moment is a testament as to how well the story of these new characters was written.
People stayed as emotional during the goodbye as they were when Luke saved the day. That's what good Star Wars does. Hits you in the feels with a good story just as much as with nostalgia.
Doesn't matter which reaction I watch, I love it when the realization hits; "An x-wing? Wait...AN X-WING?!?"
Dave Filoni and Jon Favraeu: YOU WANT REAL LUKE?! HERE YOU GO YOU AWESOME FANS!
I love how some keep screaming âwho ist itttt???â Till the face reveal while others start crying the second that X-wing flies by.
I started crying when I saw the lightsaber hilt, and then, immediately after, the glove.
I was so in denial until then, even when I saw the green blade.

Old SW fan here. I saw all the clues. Red 5, R2 in his spot, the music, the cloak, the glove, the fighting style, the green saber. All pointed to Luke but my 48 yr old ass couldn't process that it was him because we'd been disappointed for so long that all I could say was, "They wouldn't give us this. There's no way they'd give us this. Are they really giving us this?!" I was in denial up until he lowered his hood despite all the clues that I couldn't even have hope. Here I am again, two years later now watching with my niece and I am a kid again. Every time. Just missing the R2-D2 Underoos I had when I was eight.
Women crying their heads off over grogu and grown men having mental crisis over the return of Luke ... Not a dry eye and I love it.
Good Call. Luke Skywalker is the strong male, Savior role model deep in men. The women have protector, nurturer, (mother and baby bond) maternal instinct with Grogu as Mando loses Grogu for the sake of all life under the evil Empire. I truly appreciate the edit's emphasis of women broken hearted for baby Yoda bc Separation for babies and mothers are deeply felt in psychology like loss of purpose or death in young children and female brains. R2 D2 comes in as a salve that Grogu will have a new friend that Grogu can bond with for a "surrogate" of a mother's care and affections. Loved, and not cold hearted or destructive, capable of carrying on a good world into the future.

The sheer unbridled excitement and emotion of seeing full power Luke Skywalker roll up in his lone X-Wing, cut down a battalion of Dark Troopers, crush one into a scrap heap, then calmly walk into a room full of geared up Mando's and put his weapon away. That's the Luke we deserved. They robbed Mark Hamill so hard in the sequels, and this one scene, 16 episodes into this branch story, completely redeemed his character and his legacy. Mando saved Star Wars, and hopefully the series to follow will prove that the franchise can bolster the fan base even further, and push the boundaries of the universe we know.
Great compilation!
Luke was able to overcome the temptation of the dark side and bring his father to the light. Luke had not only seen but OVERCAME the epitome of the Dark Side while being in the presence of the strongest dark side users ever, and Disney tried to tell us that Luke got scared and thought he had to kill his nephew because he MIGHT turn to the dark side? LOL.
That wasnt Luke in the sequels. That was some B-Clone Hermit Luke left in charge cuz he knew Kylo would have just been a waste of his time. These real Luke used his some of his force powers to project onto Rey so she became a Mary Sue and wouldn't fail, while he was off training Grogu, chilling with Ahsoka, Han, and Leah (they faked their death so they could go back to spending time with each other and not have to deal with Smugglers/Republic bullshit) and occasionaly getting into some crazy Hijinks with Chewie/Mando/Bobba.
The sequels just wasnt worth their time and effort when the B-Cast could take care of it.
Also that purple haired Karen using hyper jump to crash into that ship was just Luke giving her a "force assist" from the other side of the Galaxy, so it didnt break any lore.
And that horrible fight with Kylo and Ren vs those red force sensitive soldiers was just Luke casually using mind tricks on the soldiers so Kylo and Ren wouldn't get hurt.
Any inconsistencies/potholes in the Sequels was just the real Luke manipulating the Force in its entirety to fix all their stupid mistakes and make sure they actually won.

Disney needs to see this. This is how you do beloved characters justice. Those tears are tears of hope, happiness and overall joy. This is how we wanted Luke, not the shit they gave us in the sequels.
This little scene did so much justice for Luke and for Star Wars. This show seriously saved Star Wars from the shit fit Disney did.
You do realize that the people making this are also producing the films. The thing that makes the difference is the directors. Rian who did last jedi has no clue about star wars.
@@darylabrams2 I know that, Disney owns Star Wars but the shit they gave us in the sequels showed very little of what they knew when it came to Star Wars. This show literally saved Star Wars. Either way, this is how you do Star Wars, not the shit of the sequels.
@@Riley_wolf they are learning. Personally I thought the movies were OK. But I felt the last jedi was really messed up. Should never have killed Luke.
@@darylabrams2 Force Awakens was good, but they did Luke shit. That's not the Luke we've grown up with for sure.
@@Riley_wolf I was OK with Luke being bitter and wanting to stay out of the fight. But I felt like he should have come back at the end and saved the day in-person. The force projection was impressive and was great at showing how powerful Luke was but killing him was a mistake I felt. Plus they had an out. Much like in star trek which brought spock back to life. They had a chance to bring Luke back too. When Luke disappeared his metal hand should have clattered to the ground, but it didn't. They could have had Luke come back in the last film after nearly dying. Then he, Ben and Rey could have confronted the emperor at the end. That would be a great end. Possibly even having the force ghosts of the past jedi appear behind them to give the three their own power.
I feel like jj had too much to correct after the second film but I give him credit for trying. I think they should have just let him do all three films and maybe things wouldn't have been so distorted.
