This entire album is one of the greatest albums ever made it was his first look it up, it's called penitentiary blues! It's fucking 🔥. This man should have been put in the hof a long time ago! Legend!
Let’s see, he got out in 67 after 20 years. So he went to prison in 47. But he was born in 1939. So he went to death row at age 8. Hey I got some ocean front property in Arizona i want to sell you.

I love Ole DAC but you don't get released from prison off Death Row, youre either executed or commuted to life. I also saw a interview with Dime and Vinnie Paul where they said he told them that he taught Charles Manson how to play the guitar in prison even though they were never in the same prison at anytime. As some what of a Manson expert(I use that term very loosely), Alvin Karpis taught Charlie to play guitar. This was at McNeil Island Penitentiary in Washington state. Charles was around 27 years old and gathering skills to pull scams on the naive youth in San Francisco.

Ol David, he told that story of being on death row just like it was real 😂
He was on Death Row for killing an inmate that made homosexual advances toward him. He was released when capital punishment was repealed .....
The truth his he was full of shit , part of his gimmick, I love his music but he was full of shit
Except for the part about being released in 1967 after doing 20 years, seeing as how he was born in 1939.
