I love Ole DAC but you don't get released from prison off Death Row, youre either executed or commuted to life. I also saw a interview with Dime and Vinnie Paul where they said he told them that he taught Charles Manson how to play the guitar in prison even though they were never in the same prison at anytime. He's been known to exaggerate the truth and just out right lie I think this one of the many. I could care less about all that, the man is still king of the Honkey Tonks.

    • @Nightrain76
      @Nightrain76  Před 2 lety +2

DAC is one of a kind. He doesn’t need to exaggerate. His country music library of recordings is second to none.

@@Nightrain76 lol...he doesn't need too but he always has, just adds to the man, the myth, the legend.....lmao. Me and some friends had the pleasure of running into him in a hotel years ago the morning after he played a local festival. He said his bus didnt have a shower and his ass had gotten too swampy for even him to get laid....lmao He ain't right, that's for sure, funny as hell and even cooler. He was like that uncle at a family gathering who the more people listen the taller the tales get and nobody gives a shit because everyone is laughing their ass off. I had always heard he could be cantankerous, but he was cool as hell to everyone that day, he sit in a hotel lobby for about 30-40 minutes with us and whoever else passed through, taking pictures, signing autographs and talking shit.

@@Nightrain76 Look he is a great musician and I love his music. But there is simply no evidence to back up any of Coe's wild stories about prison and killing people and teaching serial killers how to play guitar. Killing someone is not something that would just disappear it would be documented somewhere and I have yet to ever see the documentation that supports this story.

As some what of a Manson expert(I use that term very loosely), Alvin Karpis taught Charlie to play guitar. This was at McNeil Island Penitentiary in Washington state. Charles was around 27 years old and gathering skills to pull scams on the naive youth in San Francisco.

    Sittin' here on death row
    Behind a ton of steel
    They say before I die
I gotta eat my last meal
I wanna double yolked egg from a [garbled] pidgeon with fried bat wings over easy
The left hind leg of a black giraffe cooked medium rare, not too greasy
Smoked rhinoceros, pickled ant-eaters a plate of elephant stew
One mandrake root and a rabbit's tung and a jaw of kangaroo
    Oh Lord!
Now you know how I feel!
I'll be ready to die now
Just as soon as I eat my last meal!
    I hear yuh!
I want fresh tear-drops from a new-born child in a glass made in timbuktu
If you can't get that, try a stewed pole-cat smothered with catfish brew
Take the ears from a rat-tailed monkey mixed with a spider's left eye
And make me a sald of jungle roots and I'll be ready to die!
