Thats exactly the way I felt 5 years ago, but I expected way more out of a 2015 model, I really hope they change things up real soon.
Wyne Smith they will on 2016, different exterior and interior. And with a boost of +40 hp to make 290 hp which is pretty good:)

Why do people continue to want an SUV to be more car like. The Pilot is not a true cross over nor is it marketed as one.
The Block style for the Pilot is good. The new Pilot looks like a van and does not sit up as high. This dude is trying to sell the new model by trashing the old model i think.
You keep using the word "utilitarian" and the seats are again "utilitarian" that is what an SUV is suppose to be.
Just bought a brand new '15. Ya, it is a little squared off, and "Dated," looking. It will hold 8 passengers, has allot of power, tours our boat, and camping trailer. It is also Extremely Comfortable, and quiet! I get 26 hwy, transports my drums perfectly, but Most importantly for my wife, and I want it to start, and get us where were going at 3am, when we're out in the middle of no where. This is our 5th Honda. My wife drives a CRV. I love the 300,000 miles I've gotten out of each of them. I don't give a crap about the key fob, pushing a button to start the thing, or cool lights. One of The best cars Ever made was the Jeep Cherokee, with the bulletproof 4.0 six engine. It was plain, boxlike, but in the snow, there was nothing like it, and was also a 300,000 mile car. My brother, cousin, and 2 friends bought Jeep Cherokee's, with the 9 speed trans. Sleek, all kinds of cool crap. Too bad they don't shift.
Hmmm maybe you can raise your budget a Bit? Because you won't find many newish. Cars for that money. I have a friend who bought a 2009 Toyota Camry for around 14k. But 11k I think you can get a maybe even older car than that for a SUV not sure, could be wrong but still, yeah. Anyway good luck with your car hunting man.

I love the honda pilot in this Generation....it doesn't look like 80% of everyone else on the road.....I love the inside.....this is my 2nd one......my 3rd will be a 09-----15
We like the truck feel. We hate crossovers. We like simple and strong. We hate cute and sleek non sense garbage. We hate rounded ugly looking vehicles. Yeh no push button ignition that breaks down.... keys work well folks for many many years

The Pilot is for folks who want a truck, not the luxury market like Acura, which Honda sells as well. By the way as a Pilot second generation owner they are quiet, powerful, ride good, and spacious! That to me is luxury! Did I mention it is built like a tank, so it is very safe! Also luxury! And I have an LX! Everything does not have to be the same.
This guy knows nothing, I like this model much more than the newer models.
I have one of these and I find it to be a good value. It's no BMW or Mercedes, but it doesn't cost like one. Plenty of room, power and the electronics package is nice. Does everything I need, at a portion of the MBW or MB cost.....

Exactly, it’s a family workhorse, not a drag strip mustang. It’s meant to carry people and their cargo, not race down a windy road

Most dealerships are now offering clearance prices on Pilots. You can get one for dirt cheap now, if you negotiate right.
Sy Stewart I just picked up a white 15' touring for $35k....i was looking at the highlander and pathfinder but i th ink i got a good deal on a touring model.
I hope they go back to a more utilitarian design. I want a truck not a soccer mom crossover.
This isn't 200+ inches long and adults can fit in the 3rd row. The 2nd row moves fore and aft.

I would rather get the 2015 CR-V. Mid-size or not, the CR-V is by far, the better choice for an SUV since it gets COMPACT CAR MPG and has Earth Dreams...
Pilot is still stuck in 2009. I kind of feel bad since my dad bought the 2013 one but it's a decent ride!

Susan Hutson During the time this was filmed, yes the vehicle was dated. Mediocre build quality, an industrial looking interior, and options that weren’t available that you could get on many other crossovers. Yes it’s no Acura, but if you know Honda’s from the past this isn’t up to their standards. Even reliability has gone way downhill for Honda in general since they hit the 21st century. Many transmission failures, oil problems, and tech problems as well.
whenever Honda releases a "SE" model or Special Edition ... that means that the 2016 Pilot will be a new generation or model but i do agree it's time already...

Guys I understand cam said stuff like its utilaitern can't spell that right hehe, and blocky but did he ever say it was bad in sense? Like he did do it for some stuff, like the key fob. But he said a boxy front before showing the engine.

I used to have Pilots and loved chevy Tahoes until I found out that Hondas are manufactured in America while GM and Ford are made in foreign countries.
interesting listening to the review of this vehicle as the individual doesnt like this vehicle...."It's BOXY". From the start he sounds insulted to have been assigned this review. Dated and Boxy, dated, boxy and boring. I own a 2015 Honda Pilot and really love how reliable and comfortable this Pilot is. Unfortunately those characreristics aren't important to this reviewer. I wouldn't waste any time following other reviews of this individual as he's outdated, boxy and BORING.

icantw8 I rented a 2015 Traverse from Enterprise with only 500 miles on it and it sounded like it was falling apart..
I say the pilot the Acadia and traverse aren't really good car and less head room and leg room in the 3rd row

Well this sucks. The Pilot became so old now; there's no way this can compete with any of the new crossovers like the Highlander. It's just so slow and sluggish.

25 mpg only on highway with a very light foot .... There are other SUVs with 300 horses and over 27 - 29 mpgs.

It sounds horrible, something has happened to the engine, it does not sound tight. It has that "engine had a major repair" sound. Like the valves need adjustment? IMO

"dated" is a good way to describe it, because it's a 2015 model but it looks like its from 2005. Its like a giant version of the Nissan Cube. The interior is as ugly and backwards looking as the outside. This car is good for people who love spending big bucks on old outdated shit.
