Thank you for sharing. My daughter was diagnosed ASD with PDA at age 4 with provisional ADHD. Her PDA also shows as a fighter. It can be a real struggle. Her younger sister has a hard time because she doesn’t understand.

I feel ya! My youngest has a hard time and it picking up the “behaviors” from her meltdown but doesn’t have PDA. They are constantly in battle mode with each other.

What's your treatment plan? I hate to think of all these kids losing their futures due to a lack of support, for things that I believe are very treatable.
Pretty sure I've had PDA since 2015, though I just called it a "freeze state" until I heard of PDA. I know there are ways to heal this, but unfortunately I feel that the brain retraining program I was doing, to calm my amygdala (fight/ flight) is what put me into the freeze state. It was too aggressive, and I wasn't in a safe place with support, which I feel is necessary to heal the ANS.
Do you know about PANS/PANDAS? Definitely worth a look. But also difficult to diagnose. But any PANS doctor will understand PDA, I think. I know brain inflammation is a big part of my puzzle... getting out of mold literally saved my life, and now I'm being treated for Lyme & Bartonella. Viruses are hit or miss... sometimes they increase my brain inflammation. Other times, they switch it off, which is amazing for a short time.
Being stuck in fight, flight, or freeze is so emotionally painful... she's lucky to have parents who see that, rather than being reactive themselves. Because our society has a way of further traumatizing people with neurological sensitivities. I feel for these kids who are so severe at a young age. But I also have hope that they can heal and have a good life.

I’m sorry you’re going through that too. We’re actually looking at PANDAS for my youngest after having strep in Jan 2022. We’re still waiting for recommendations on treatment to come through. But most likely home / unschool and low demand parenting for a while until we get it all figured out.
