They never sent me mine after being over 100k for 6 months. I finally got on the tech support chat asked why and they did a song and dance. This took another 3 weeks of BS before I got mine. Another friend of mine was at over 200k when they out of the blue sent him one LOL
It's always been my understanding that it doesn't happen automatically. You have to request an award be sent to you.
@@UnitSe7en Incorrect been a youtuber for 10 years. The system used to auto confirm at 105K and contact for an Email. During the summer before Corvid. Something in the system got messed up and CZcams has never bothered to care to fix it. They fixed the one for 1mil but do not care if we hit 100k now. And to top it off if you ever need a new one to replace it its $45 they charge you for it after shipping.

As a laser operator, thank you for mentioning some of the nitty gritty details. We catch shit ALL THE TIME because we can't cut hair thin features into 1" thick steel plate (which is always rusty and bent), usually I can get to about 1/4 or 1/3 the material thickness before we start having issues but yes, you are completely right that 1/2 of the material thickness is a fairly comfortable guideline.
My laser beam is 0.012" to 0.016" wide, I have no reliable control over the thickness and as such, I cannot cut anything narrower but people can't seem to grasp the fact that there IS a fixed minimum.
Kerf always exists. Working with Joe Q. Public is the worst part of any job.
Of course you would engineer your own play button. Wouldn’t expect any less!

It would be awesome if CZcams had a department who designed channel appropriate one off play button awards for their "Flagship" channels. It would show the world that they actually understand how some creators go above and beyond to make great content and have EARNT their play button, rather than getting half a million subscribers purely through being a pretty b1mbo who uploads weekly videos of them trying on and reviewing whatever swimsuits and under garments they'd bought that week..........
Maybe Matt could cater to THAT market as well though? "Hi, I"m Matt. This week I'm going to be fitting some of the Jaguar's interior, and trying on a few brands of underwear I bought". LOL !
My guess for the secret project is an F1 inspired shifter kart. The carbon fiber looked like an F1 steering wheel and the engine looks like a BMW parallel twin street bike motor, not sure which though. Whatever it is should be fun regardless!

Wow, I learned quite a few things in this video! I didn't realize you could sand and re-brush materials, I didn't know there were materials made specifically to rust, and I didn't know there was a company I could send a file and get laser cut parts in various materials.
When you hung it above the toilet it reminded me of Back to the Future cuz he was hanging a clock above his toilet when he slipped and fell and made the flux capacitor didn't know if that's what you were referencing
That last cut to the plaque hanging above the head was quite the statement. I don't entirely know what statement that is yet.

Doesn't help that the play button is not only made in China, but also shipped directly from there.
So shipping is also an issue.
But they have so much time to demonetize and cancel channels that offend their politics.

You could have a play button as the "start" button (high voltage battery contactor or whatever constitutes start on an ev) on the Jaaaaag ...
They used weathering steel on the metal kerbs in our skatepark. It looks pretty and matches the aesthetic of the old bridge perfectly - but boy howdy does it love grabbing on to urethane (wheels) and plywood (decks) that we very much wish were sliding.

Nobody seemed to notice though…
I had kind of expected some recognition, a “good job”, maybe a coffee…
But rather than wallowing in self pity, I chose to reward myself with a SuperfastMug.
I believe it’s some kind of Kaolin core with a ceramic flux on top. I’m just happy I’m not putting it together.

Re: a Cor-Ten car. Up here in the Rust Belt Cor-Ten doesn't weather well, it just rusts through like everything else. My state installed hundreds of miles of Cor-Ten guardrail that ended up being deadly shards of broken car spear when hit after a decade or two of salt spray.

For uniformity, anodizing titanium can give you a great range of solid colors. Just have to set voltage to the correct level for the color.

you can also anodize titanium for a really consistent finish. Dip it in baking soda water with a power supply hooked up to the ti. vary the voltage gives different colours. Have done this for some parts with good results!
Every recording studio (back in the day) use to hang gold and platinum records on the way to the bathroom... and I have been to latterly tens of studios... you went for an "inside" the bathroom look...
