What do you think about the poor pay that Nurses receive in the UK after the 10 year pay freeze by the Government? Do you think nurses deserve to be paid less than teachers, social workers, physiotherapists and other professionals in the hospital setting?

Hello, please I want to ask this question
My assessor is so tormenting so I have decided not to work with her and I have beg another sister to help me signed my placement document. I just want to ask if this is going to affect me negatively and secondly at there end of my placement how are they going to sign me off. Is my university going to send out any documents for them to sign me off or are my going to leave just like that
    Thank you

Hey Zara, I have trained through COVID. This has meant I have not been allowed to work on wards or residential homes. I have only had community placements. I'm on my management placement and my assessor's expectations are much higher than what I have been trained to, with the limitations of the university's COVID rules. I have given everything.... but I never seem to do anything right. My mental health is really suffering with them expecting me to know things and then sending me loads to read knowing I'm dyslexic...
    What am I doing wrong?

Noah Goldsworthy I hope you are OK and have found support.
I also studied through Covid in Australia so was locked down and Placements wherever I could get them-with stressed staff and months apart ie 18ms apart.
Access counselling support from university or college or your workplace.
Also request a meeting with your superior and take your expected skills list with a view to creating a professional development plan to help meet your goals.

These videos are super helpful!! I started working in administration 2 mnths ago at my local GP practice and the nurses I work with have inspired me to work towards becoming a nurse.
What would you say the first initial step is to start my nursing career? (Coming from someone with 0 experience… lol)
Thank you for these videos Zara - also hair goals.💜
