My grandparents got married 5 weeks after meeting, married 71 years and still going strong 💕
That's Ricky Van Shelton. He's a 90's country singer. He had a great voice. Check him out.
Love Ricky Van! Such a smooth classic country voice. I'm going to sound my age, but country just doesn't come close to this anymore.
@@JasonHalversonjaydog Miss hearing him on the radio.. That was era of great country music.. I miss it dearly
He’s one in my favorites! Keep it between the lines would definitely summon BYSE
My parents married at 16 and 18 and they are going on 65 years together now.
My Husband and I started dating when we were both 19, married at 22, still together at 51 lol wow
we were young lol
Same here, only now I'm 69, he's 70. What's funny is at 21 we felt ancient getting married when most married straight out of high school back here in rural south. We only got married then cause my hubby got drafted. At first base married, we only ones that old without kids. Waited till out of service. Not having A baby without my mom there, my hometown doctor!
Been with my husband 36 years. 35 years married. He still makes my heart flutter.
My mom and daddy met when she was 15 and he was 17 and got married at 19 and 21. The were each others firsts and lasts. They were married 40 years when cancer took mom 5 years ago. I hardly ever even heard them argue my whole life💕☺
Thank you so much. It was very hard loosing her. I was only in my 30s and feel like I got cheated out of so many years but it's really made me be sure and appreciate the time I do have with my loved ones. There are no guarantees that we have them for many years to come.
My parents grew up together in the same small town and have known each other their whole lives. This December will be their 67th wedding anniversary!
@ Jo Jones .....That is so beautiful it brought happy tears to my eyes . God Bless you all
Been with my husband counting our young years 50 years, still going strong, been married 48 years
My late husband and I went to school together. I have no doubt that we would still be happily married. I think people give up too easily these days. Relationships take effort.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear husband. It’s so hard ro lose a spouse, no matter how long you’ve been together.
My husband and I got married after knowing each other for only 6 weeks. Yes, weeks. Considering everything you go through as a new married couple, I don’t recommend that. However, we are blessed. It worked for us. We’ve been married 24 years and are completely in love ♥️
My husband and I got engaged on our third date. Married a couple of months later. 20 years in the USAF, raised 3 amazing kids and we just celebrated 25 years in July! 💜
I met my husband in the 5th grade in 1987 we were 12 still together
Our song is by vince Gill "Look at us" beautiful song
Ricky Van Shelton is a legend with an amazing voice
Haven't heard this song in a long time.
I didn’t really grow up with my husband but we started dating when we were 14 and we never broke up. We married at 18 and I just turned 30 this year and we have been married 12 years. We have a 9 &7 year old and a baby girl in heaven that was born between the 2 of them so we are already through with the rockin babies stage. The kids don’t let us rock them anymore which kinda sucks lol they grow up to fast!
Ricky Van Shelton, you should out his song "Somebody Lied"
After meeting my husband we met dated 3 months got married and have been married 16 years.
I had forgotten all about this song 💜💜
My husband and I have been together for 17 years!! We will be 39 this year. We went to high school together and I couldn't stand him 😂😂 saw him again a few years after graduating and instantly fell head over heels 💜 he is my best friend and even after 17 years he still looks at me like the first night. It CAN happen still.
Ceelebrating 28 years of marriage in September.... Thank God for him every day! Thank you for this! ❤️
My wife and I have been rockin' together for the past 40 years
27 years and still rocking. I was 21 when we met. About to turn 50 in December. Yeah, true love is a thing.
My parents have know each other since kindergarten and have been made thirty five years
Billy my husband an I was together for twenty eight years we rocked until January 2020 an I stood by him until he took his last breath
Dear Billy, My father passed away just after his 75th birthday. He was married to my amazing step-mom for 29 years.
46 years married, very devoted to each other, 4 kids, 12 grand babies, 2 great grand babies, ups and downs, Married in our teens, very best of friends, gave each other space to grow and not over react to mistakes. kept the humor alive, support for each others dreams. Retired now, not a lot of conversation but a lot of memories and hand holding. Young people will give all this up for instant gratification, us old timers are here to ask how it works, but no one listens anymore or takes the time to at least. We got married 3 weeks after we met, when it is love you know it.
My husband and I have been through it all. We met at 22, neither looking for anything serious but I got pregnant and we both came from broken homes and wanted to make it work. We were homeless in the beginning, sleeping in a 1990 Dodge Shadow when I was pregnant but through hard work we moved up one step at a time. We've been through poverty, our son (firstborn) was diagnosed with autism two months after our daughter passed away from SIDS. It was indescribably hard but her name was Faith and through her passing, we found our faith in Jesus. We've been together 20 years now and our lives are amazing. We're working our dream jobs and doing well, our son graduated high school and is starting trade school in the fall, he's working through the summer. Our relationship has made it through things that a lot of people can't get through but if you really want it and work for it and put Jesus first in everything you do, then you can absolutely make it to the rockin' years. God bless.
BILLY WHERE ARE YOU🥺🥺🥺
20 years next month and very happy and respectful to each other
Can't say my marriage went on so long. But my parents, 60 years. Would have been longer but my Dad died of cancer during the 61st year. His parents, 65 years, and my Mom's parents were headed for 50 years when cancer took my grandmother. So yes it, marriage, can last a lifetime.
These new generations, instead of fixing whats broken, they through it out and get a new one. Marriage wasnt meant to be easy. Its a full time job. You have to wake up everyday and make the choice to love your spouse. You have to make the choice to be happy. And yes, its a choice. Even on days you dont like them....and you dont always have to like them. But you always have to love them.
I met my husband when I was 14. We just celebrated 13 years of marriage and will celebrate 21 years together this labor day weekend. I had to graduate high school and then college before we got married. He waited for me. Now we have 2 beautiful children.
married 15 years. We've had our ups and downs. Long distance, depression, sickness, surgeries, family deaths, kicking, screaming and loving our way. I would do this with no one else.
I have been married nearly 16 years. My son has, over the past 3 years attended the 50th wedding anniversary of both sets of grandparents. Children follow the examples they are given.
Billy! Where’d you go? We’re worried about you and miss you!
This was our 30th anniversary song! I grew-up with my soulmate
A favorite. ❤
Been married for 20 years, goin' on 21. He's been with me through deployments, babies, through ptsd, and depression. Love him like mad. ❤
That’s Ricky van shelton. I’m pretty sure u did a reaction to his song “Keep it between the lines” before
My husband and I met when we were 21. We got engaged on our third date and married a couple of months later. We celebrated 25 years in July! 💜
My husband and I have been together 24 years.
Billy, you crack me up! I love your enthusiasm and how honest you are. Thank You for your service!!!!
Been married 23 years and going strong
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this on another video. I met my husband when I was 8 & he was 9. We started dating when I was 15 and got married the week he finished USAF basic training and celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this past April. Our oldest son met his now wife when they were 13, while we were stationed in England. A year after he joined the US Army they got married. That was 8 years ago and they've given us two beautiful granddaughters (6 & 2).
Ricky van Shelton, he has some great music and a great voice. Married my husband at 18 been married 28 year's in January. We didn't have to marry and yes we was very young but I wouldn't change a minute of all the years. We are best friend's and soul mates. One grown child at 26 and one grandbaby why would I change anything. Love your channel!
I met my husband when we were 9 years old. We have been together for 30 years. We have a son 28 years old. And have been married 21 years! Still going strong! It is possible. It does happen!
My parents were married for 46 years until my Momma went to be with the Lord. My Daddy lived 10 years after that and has now joined her. He was undiagnosed Bipolar most of his life so it was NOT easy but they gave me love and a Christian home, and one can't ask for much more than that. Can't wait to see them and my savior one blessed day.
Married high school sweetheart. 42 years ago. Now rocking grand kids.
I started dating my husband when I was 16, got married at 23, and we are still together and I’m 40. Still can’t imagine loving anyone else. It’s possible ❤️
Not in our rockin years yet but we are 21 years strong!! So many more to go!!
Dated 10 months and now married 41 years. Love this song.
My husband and I have been married almost 10 years and we have had our shares of ups and downs that's for sure. We have even separated a couple times, once was his decision once was my decision but we always came back together. We truly do love each other and neither of us could imagine being with anyone else and we eagerly look forward to our gray haired rockin' years.
My husband and I met at church when we were 11 and 12 , then became bestfriends at 15 and 16 , started dating at 17 and 18 and now we have been together for 12 and 1/2 years . Almost 6 years married ❤❤
I haven't heard this song in forever! Thanks for playing it Billy!
I love anything Miss Dolly does.
I have my forever rockin years partner for 28 years now
Celebrated our 20th anniversary in June. Seems everyone else around us just gives up, but with fights and love and work it can be done. My parents just celebrated their 44th they set a wonderful example for me. Side note my husband use to be in a band and we use to do this song all the time. I'm 3 and a half mins in and already crying. I hadn't thought of this song in years!
23 years on the 17th of this month. We were in kindergarten together, found each other again in higher school. 2 boys, three bouts of cancer later and we’re still rocking together. Always been one of our songs.
54 years for us until he passed in March...high school, college, our own business for over 30 years, 2 kids, lost our daughter to hodgskins lymphoma, shared everything together...can’t wait to see him again...
Met hubby when I was 19 and he was 22. We had 4 months together before he joined the military and went overseas. We got engaged when he was home on leave and had a 2 year engagement. When he came home he basically walked off the plane into the church for our wedding. This December will be our 35th anniversary. It hasn't always been easy but it has always been worth it.
What does it take? Listening. Compromise. Love. Trust. Honesty. Never giving up on each other.
I am 44 years old and I have been married since June of 99! Oh yes 21 years and I married a little younger than average. I was 22 and my husband was 20. We are still going strong.
My hubby and I were together for 16 years before I was ready to get married (trust issues thanks to an absentee dad). We've now been married for 11 years this September. So we've literally been together for 27 years. Good and bad, we've always had each other's back.
So glad you are talking about true commitment through thick and thin. How it is possible, hard work sometimes but possible. And worth it! Another country song telling a valuable story. ❤
Married 33 years and still going!
I have been watching you for 3 years on making another comment cuz you know what you are so sweet and this world needs more people like you and more people that want to rocks through the years God bless🙏🙏
My sister and her husband have been sweethearts since the 5th grade. Married at 19 years old, they are about to celebrate their 55th anniversary........and happier than ever!
Ricky Van Shelton "Life Turned Her That Way" is a good one.
My husband and I have been married 33 years, against all odds. He is 87 and I’m 63. He takes care of me like a baby. He is my rock. It’s funny how love changes and grows through the seasons of life. I wish everyone a great love like ours. And that’s Ricky Van Shelton.
My parents met on the first day of first grade (they didn't have kindergarten back then) and were great friends all through school. They got together and married right out of high school at age 18 and 19. Dad went to Vietnam and served 24 years in the USAF. They were married almost 51 years when we lost Dad this March. My husband and I met in high school, went off and married other people, and then ran into each other again years later. We are celebrating 20 years this year.
Billy, my wife and I have been married 41 years! We dated almost 2 years before that! Met in 1977!
My mom met my dad at the funeral for his dad. My mom and her brother were friends with my dad's baby brother (both uncles served in the Army together in Korea), so my mom went to the funeral to support my dad's baby brother. She accidentally spilled coffee on my dad's lap, and that started 8 years of dating, then I was on the way and they got married, and have been for 45 years. So counting the dating, they have been together for 53 years. My folks are in their "rockin' years", they still get around, but my mom struggles with a bad knee, and dad with arthritis. I live at home with them, because mom has Alzheimer's, in the early stages, and dad needs someone to help him out with things around the house and yard.
It is kinda sweet to see them together at this age (mom is 77 and dad 79). When they go shopping, they both will stand and stare, like little kids, in the candy aisle. It's like a role reversal, because me and my siblings did the same when we were kids, and we'd be told no and it'll spoil our dinner. Now they are doing what we did, but they are at an age where they can get away with it. Every now and then, dad will show he loves her by getting a fistful of dark chocolate for mom, and mom will make him some of his favorite treats and snacks. They don't say "I love you" all that much, they don't need the words, they have actions to do all that.
So I grew up looking for a relationship like my parents, and it is damn near impossible to find someone with THAT level of dedication. Hell, it is hard to find someone who will keep the same hair color for a week these days. My folks only got mad at each other 3 or 4 times in 53 years. All they did was go to separate rooms and stew, and later they'd be over it. I know people that can't go a day without getting in a major argument, and then get confrontational about it. So my folks are a real rarity, and I am so honored and blessed to have them!
I still love this song. I was alive when it came out and I still love it today!!! Love Dolly, Love RVS!!!
My parents have been married since 1977...no "breaks" or leaving, and the thought of cheating/lying/etc has never even been a thought to either of them. They've always supported each other, and stood side by side through it all. They definitely showed me what True and Unconditional Love really means!! 💕
My husband and I met when we were 13yrs old. Here we are 23 yrs later...still together and still in love ❤
Love this song too. No one does it better than Dolly.
I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 43 years - we grew up on the same street and our hearts joined together when we were juniors in high school. Never let go when you love someone.
My brother and sister in law have been together since they were 16…they’re 48 now…they’re incredible. They’re truly the blueprint ❤️❤️❤️
My husband and I have been together since I was 15 and he was 17. Married 23 years. 2 babies who are now both in college. I’m an incredibly blessed woman!
My husband was 19 and I was 16 when we got married. We had 4 children 2 girls and 2 boys.we had 5 grandchildren 4 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. We was married for 55 years before my husband passed away at 75 years old in june of 2016. I am 78 and he was my one and only. I was blessed to have been married as long as 55 years.!!
Rockin’ together for 38 years. It’s possible, with respect, compromise, friendship, and of course, love.
This month made 34 years for us. Couldn't imagine life with anyone else. We started with nothing and still have most of it, lol. We have gotten rich with love and our little girl. My girls are my life! Blessed beyond belief.
Played this song at my wedding, going on 15 years & still going strong! 💕
Been married for 31 years. Have always said we wanted to make it as long as my grandparents or die trying. Every year on our anniversary, my grandparents would call and congratulate us on getting a year closer to our goal. On their anniversary, we would call and “fuss” at them for raising the bar on us again. At my grandfather’s funeral, my grandmother hugged me and said “Well Dawn, the bar is set. 72 years and he died in my arms. Top that.” We’re still trying! 😍
Used to work for elderly couple until they moved closer to their son. Married 60 years. Met when they were teens. They never looked at anyone else after that. Thru both of them going to college at different times, rough lean years, 2 kids, several moves, caring for elderly parents. They werent overly affectionate to each other but givin enough time with them i learned what marraige truly is. You dont have to show other people how you feel about your mate, you just have to show your mate. Most people never saw the depth of their love for each other, i was privileged to see and hear the stories.
My wife and I just celebrated 30 years of marriage this month. We dated for 5 years before that. I met her at age 18 and she was my first real girl friend. We've raised two kids, lived in six states...the whole "in good times and bad times, sickness and health". Three keys to successful marriage: You got to love each other (which is easy), you got to like each other (a little tougher), and you got to be committed to the institution of marriage (by far the hardest in this society).
My wife and I just had our 30th anniversary, and I know that I love her more now than ever, my sweetheart. 🙏🙌❤❤
My husband and i just celebrated our 25th anniverary on August 5th ..We married young i was 15 he was 18 . I couldnt imagine my life without him he is my rock, my soulmate and my best friend . Our youngest daughter is starting college next week and we are having to now learn how to be empty nesters . True love can make it ,
My parents have been married 57 years. Mom was 18 when they got married (Dad was 27). Nobody thought it would last. They dated 2 months, got engaged, and were married 2 months later. But, they have one of the strongest and most loving relationships that I know of. Life hasn't always been easy, but they have always done it together. It makes me sad because my father's life is coming to an end. My mom is a strong woman, but I can't imagine how hard it will be for her without my dad.
I met my wife in 7th grade Sunday School class. We started dating at 17 and we married when we were 20. 2 babies and 5 grands and then one day she was gone, died in her sleep. I had just retired from work early because she was in bad health. Songs like this really break me down. It's bittersweet. I thank God for the 37 years he gave me with her and I know one day we will be together again.
We have been married 36 years and he is still my best friend. I wait in the car while he goes to get something, look up see him walking back and I have to smile. There is no one else. Meet him while we were both in the military in Alaska.
I met my husband when I was 14, he was 15. We’ll celebrate 50 years married next week. We’re definitely in our rocking years
My husband and I have been together for 39 years come next month!! I can't imagine my life without him. It's possible. 2 daughters and 5 grandkids later, I love him more and more all the time!
This song has always been a favorite of mine! My husband and I just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. We met when I was 16, started dating at 17, married when I was 19 and he was 21. We have a 14 yr old and a 10 yr old. The way to make it is to have Christ at the center of your marriage. There is so much forgiveness and grace involved in choosing to love someone forever.
Eta: all of our grandparents and my parents were together until death parted them (the longest was 65 years). My husband's parents are at 43 years and quite happily! Having so many committed couples to look to is amazing.
So far its been 33 yrs for us. We started our journey together when I was 16 and he was 24. Yes, thats a major age gap but it was live at first sight for both of us. We had our 1st child 8 yrs after marriage. Hes 25 yrs old now and we are now 49 and 57 yrs old. I am truly blessed to have this man un my life.
This was one of the songs included on my parents 50th Anniversary video.
My best friend and I have been married 43 years. He is my rock and I will love him forever. He never left my side when I went through breast cancer and all that that entails. And I was there for him when he had a heart attack.
Yes I'm still rocking to this and will trough my rocking years 👨👩👧👦15 years and counting 🎊💖
Been married for 30 years, together for 34 years. Started dating at 15 and still strong as ever. It is possible, it isn't always easy, but it's a blessing.
Married my husband after very bad marriage! We’ve been married for 17 years now. He stepped in and raised my babies as his own. We stood together and buried one. The other in now grown and in the Navy! He’s my rock and my love and I thank God for him!
My Mommy and Daddy have been married 47 years. Im the oldest of 5 kids, 6 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. I am a very proud NAVY Brat!!
Bro you got people depending upon you to react take this to heart my man quit taking so long brother love you God bless you and your family......
Recently lost my love of 60 years, after brief illness. I loved her more more every day we spent together. I miss her every waking moment. We were so, so very lucky.
Man I love this song!! This is the music I grew up singing lol. I met and started dating my husband at 15yrs old. My freshman year, I'm 34 and we are still together. Weve made it through, highschool, 2 babies, he joined military, was in bootcamp when I realized I was pregnant with our second child. 🤣 that was a fun letter. My great grandmother died 2 days before his bootcamp graduation. I moved 1700 miles away from home with a 2yr old and a 6week old, to join him on base. Me having 2 brain surgeries. Going to school. While he was gone 4-6 weeks every 3 months. Became a paramedic. Had to start that school over after brain surgery. Moved home. We separated for a year! Civilian life was difficult for both of us. The last two years weve made it through his company falling through, bankruptcy, and oil field layoffs due to covid. But as we always have said, if we have each other, we are solid! Now he's back to oil field, I published my first book, and just got into the recording studio for the first time in 20 years! We are looking forward to spending the other half of our life together!
42 years and still going! We only have forever together!
Married 23 years . Children , miscarriages, surgery’s , no money , family issues , grown kid issues , grand babies , son deployed. We really do still hold hands !!! God is the foundation!!!!
Amen sis! 25 and the same hard knocks. Isn't it wonderful knowing we'll have someone that we can build our entire lives memories with?
Beautiful 🌹❤️
