The early years of Real Madrid's Galaticos were so special, a team of superstars. Even though I think Real Madrid didn't win enough to justify the astronomical transfer fees, that team were beautiful to watch during their prime. No one will attempt to build a team like that again.
As a lifelong Barcelona fan, he deserved all the hate, but to be honest, he was so calm and mature to withstand everything and stay by his decision to join Madrid and play the game. Truly, massive respect for that. Still remember this like yesterday, he was receiving death threats before the game, police had to shield him when he went down the tunnel at half time and full time, lighters, galss bottles and a pigs head thrown at him. Crazy
The pigs head was a different game. In this game he didn't take any corners or throw ins because he didn't want to be too close to the fans because he knew they would throw stuff at him. The next year in his second game at camp nou, he decided to take corners and he got absolutely pelted by bottles, lighters, cans etc. Everytime he moved to take the corner, multiple items would fall around him and prevent him from kicking. Eventually the ref had to suspend play for 30 mins and as the cameras filmed the staff cleaning up the waste they saw the infamous pigs head.
