    Young's Modulus :-
Young's modulus, also known as the elastic modulus, is a measure of the stiffness of a solid material. It is a mechanical property of linear elastic solid materials. It defines the relationship between stress (force per unit area) and strain (proportional deformation) in a material. Young's modulus is named after the 19th-century British scientist Thomas Young.
Young's modulus measures the resistance of a material to elastic (recoverable) deformation under load. A stiff material has a high Young's modulus and changes its shape only slightly under elastic loads . The stiffness of a component means how much it deflects under a given load. This depends on the Young's modulus of the material, but also on how it is loaded (tension, or bending) and the shape and size of the component.
This video explains how to determine the Young’s modulus of elasticity of the material of a given wire using Searle’s apparatus.

Cool lab and cool video! Still, in the table the Modulus is given to a different number of s.f.'s, which is penalized on A-level.
