I have also since the first episode, as it was suggested all over CZcams… 8.9 Million views on the first episode.
I was SUPER happy when I first saw that. I was at the gates in 2003 of Cerro Gordo, but it was private property and firmly gated off. I've explored plenty of ghost towns in my life all over the west, from Arizona to Alaska. It's a hobby. When I saw that first episode, I was ALL OVER IT! Kept me sane through the shutdown too! 🤪@@Super_Bros.

Get that money dude, good luck on the sales and the future of your project. I've been visiting the Owens valley for 35 years, the history is incredible. So many stories that will probably never get told again.
I mean he could have gotten a heck of a lot more money if he insured that hotel that burned down after 100 years of being fine just fine :D Or maybe he could just make his investors that footed the 1.4 MILLION dollars for the town in the first place :D

@@DesertDog8989 As I was preparing to go to the middle east to work my library ordered a few books for me. When I came back I left souvenirs in the books for anyone else that might check them out. It was just Iraqi currency but it made good book marks for the next person

I can’t wait to visit Cerro Gordo again one day! I came back in the summer of 2021. Unfortunately my wife and toddler were having a panic attack from driving up the mountain as they didn’t know that was part of the deal when I convinced them to let me make a “pit stop” on our journey from visiting family in Cali to Las Vegas and then Utah and finally back to Texas.
I only had enough time to get out, ask some volunteers for water (it was 114° that day), pop my head into the gift shop, sign the guest book, and then turn around go straight back down the mountain.
I will be back one day! Can’t wait. In the meantime, I’ll definitely be checking out that book!
It's cool to have actually been there though, even if it was a brief visit.
That place has the potential to be something really good. I just hope the corporations never get a hold of it.

I only found this channel last year, binge-watched through every video, eagerly awaited every new video, and am now eagerly awaiting the end of the day, when I can go home and dive into my copy of the book, which should be waiting for me at home. Thank you for making history come alive and carrying us along on your incredible journeys of discovery and revival. As a child in Los Angeles, I read about the Owen's Valley water wars and the legacy of William Mulholland, but I never really understood what it meant to the peoples of those areas and how it changed the land. Thank you for bringing this to life in such a personal way.

I listened to your book on Audible a couple of weeks ago on my way back from a weekend camping and hiking in Tennessee. I soaked up all 7 and half hours of it during the 14 hour drive. Although I have followed your channel since the beginning, I felt the book kind of fill in all the blanks about the history of this great mining town. Most of all what I took away from the book is your determination to make things happen when most would fold. As I head out end the week on new personal adventure, I'll not only listen to your book again, but also embrace the unknown as the adventure unfolds.
