Glad to see that at least a small channel has been opened. And good to see at least two tugs helping that ship out. Its going to take months to get the whole channel cleared.

What do you mean 1st ship? How many ships were trapped? Thought it was just one ship involved.

No, the ships stuck at anchor or docked. Who could not leave, due to the channel being blocked. But it seems that a narrow channel has been opened. Which is why that ship going out. Had a tug on bow and stern.

The harbor was full of container ships, busiest east coast port. The one that hit bridge has been removed after the gps got hacked, ooops, cant say that.

@@tico4940 I think the Dali is still there right where it's been since 3/26/24. They need to remove containers, steel bridge parts, and the concrete roadway before it can be moved. I have seen no proof of anything malicious before the ship lost power. There were some problems before it left the dock, but apparently the Dali thought the problem was fixed, best to my understanding.
As of 20:01 on 4/29/24 the Dali ship was still in the same position since hitting the bridge. Your post was prior to mine, so you are incorrect. Sorry!!

I would have thought they would have released the essential navy ships (the always ready to go ships) first.

Maybe the Navy vessals aren't needed anywhere urgently, because I'm sure they would have priority.

They haven't moved in a long time!

The four Ready Reserve Force ships aren't technically Navy vessels unless they are activated, which theoretically can be done in four or five days. All four have deeper drafts than the temporary channel. There are RRF ships in other east coast ports if the need arises before the main channel is cleared.

Ok. I was just worried about them getting out in case things go south.

@@IamValentina66 There is a lot of rubbish on the internet but this is one of the things I do like about it. I'm not too old to learn stuff! Have a great afternoon from the Welsh Marches.
