david has to be one of the most gorgeous men to have ever lived.
he manages to teeter along the line of rugged masculinity and beautiful androgyny; the perfect man.
Thanks for forcing me to expand my vocabulary. The combination of feminine and masculine characteristics : the quality or state of being androgynous
My favourite film of all time. I've even visited the locations where scenes were shot in New Mexico. Why it's being remade is beyond me. Bowie IS Thomas Jerome Newton.
Wasn't aware it's being remade. I agree with you; hard to imagine anyone else in the role.
If they never remade anything u wouldn’t have half of what u had even this so get out of your close minded shell , the remake now is amazing , u people complain about remake and everything and end up destroying movies and series before they get a chance
I'm watching the new show and I came here to see David Bowie verson. Didn't disappoint at all
I watched this movie recently and aside from admiring David Bowie's beauty, the script felt kind of weak to me, it had so much potential, I wish they fully focused on David Bowie's character like what's really happening in his mind, what is he feeling and his hometown, his family etc
Oh, may I know where you saw this movie? I've been looking for this movie lately😢
I still don't understand why they couldn't let them keep his normal eyes, they already got that alien quality to them
Love Bowie of course - But I just love Candy Clark in this film - she plays naive innocent so well - her character perfectly imagnifies Bowie's character , such a memorable film
7:58: You know, had he just *spoken to her* through the door, something like, ''Yes, I'm fine... Try not to be scared, I'm still me...'' she might not have wound up screaming and using the floor as a toilet... 🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂🤷♂
This movie is so tragic.
an interesting parallel that happened to me not to long ago has to do with the particular song that's playing in the first scene that's shown in this video. Now and Then, i think it is, though i'm not certain who sings that exact version in the film.
I had first seen the film around 2 months ago, and didn't even notice the song playing in the background, a few days later, I discovered the song on Spotify, completely unrelated to the film.
a month or so later i went back and played this video, and discovered that the song i had been playing on loop was in the film all along!
kind of interesting, i thought.
god I miss him ... I miss god ... I miss him .... omg I loved this movie ... standing in line in Westwood when it came out I was 12 and I have seen it in theaters over 100 times and total 200 oh yes I love that man
One of me favourite movies of all time i love it.
I miss Bowie. 'Bye, buddy.
Lizard eyes, burning like fire
Lizard eyes, how can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Lizard eyes
First class thanks x
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH OH MY GOD HE'S PERFECT
Loved the furry train cars on his home planet.
Read the book. Walter Tevis, who also wrote The Hustler.
What if they had written it that Newton was prepared for trouble and could stand up and defend everything he created I would have liked it a lot better than when they threw the lawyer and his
friend out the window. That was going over the top. Even in the book the didn't do that!!!!
May i ask where can i watch full movie for free? I cannot find it anywhere.
I found it on BFI Classics with a free week long subscription.
I can't believe he did not know the RAF motto
Some very good movies were made starting in 1969 until about 1980. Thats my observation anyway.
Me gustaría volver a verlo pero todo hay que pagarlo. 😭
Well that was fucking scary

Is it really true that some ex astronauts are basket cases?
Lisa Nowak cracked pretty badly. Google her. That happened long after this movie was made, though. Humans had only been going into space for 15 years back in 1976. It was too early to tell what the long-term effects of space travel would be.
OMG the weirdest movie I have ever seen

Guy in the spaceship talking to bowie is a bad actor...no?
Although he is the best singer and musician of all time,he is a very very good actor and many people said if he continued acting he would be a very good and famous actor
Are u Lithuanian? 😂😂😂
dang........his "singing" sounds like a reject from American Idol.
he's literally one of the most talented singers that ever lived, not just by preference but by some of the notes that he was able to hit and just minutes of research will show that
Excuse me??? What did you just say?????!!!!!!do you know who is legendary David Bowie??? He Is the rock god!he Is the best singer of all time! What do you say??? David Bowie in my and many people's opinions is the best and in everyone's opinion is one of the best musician of all time! Do you know who are you talking about? No one can ever write a lyrics like his songs and no one can compose any song better than him and reach to the beauty of his songs and tunes and lyrics ... And the most important thing is that his voice Is the most beautiful voice I've ever heard and at least one of the most beautiful voices in the history. Everybody knows that ! If you are not a fan that's ok but no one can deny who David Bowie is and how much legendary he is. Don't forget he is a musician first and the best or at least one of the best musicians in the history and of all time . Have you ever listened to his amazing and fantastic songs? And his wonderful singing and voice? I can't understand how someone can say it to the rock god and the king of glam rock David Bowie??? He Is one of the best musician of all time you can go and search a little and you will understand!!!!!!!!!
wow what a bad actor this david bowie guy is.
Agreed, he delivers his lines too quietly, speaks too slowly to be convincingly conversational and barely emotes or does so flatly. I'm not a fan
*STATION TO STAION* 3:31

being attracted to david bowie in this film wasn’t something i had on my 2023 bingo card but here we are
I just wanted to see the film in the original 65mm, which I did get to experience a few years ago, to my everlasting gratuitous plaudits to.the crew.........
Nice pfp
I guess 65mm & 70mm were essentially the same thing.
