Thank you for the commentary. Im semi casual, but I like to be as efficient as possible, so your vids are the best among comp players to learn. I still struggle to understand Cress because it requires to distribute counters and that means that energy is difficult to get back to the bin, so it can't precede a big Zacian attack (as you will likely miss 4-5 energy on that). Could you provide some paradigms on Cress usage?
sure, using it early is fine, as long as you keep in mind you need to discard the energy, otherwise if you are using it multiple times or later try to avoid it if you plan to use zacian (aka against any vstar/vmax deck) against lost zone using cresselia is generally fine because you won't need zacian
Keep up the Garde content! Lost Zone is a tough match up and it's everywhere on the ladder, I've been playing 3rd Rare candy + Cheryl to more consistently be able to brawl early with a Garde EX, then later heal off the damage. It's pretty good into Mew too as they rarely can OHKO with proper attaches.
I’ve been trying double collapsed as well.
Whats your opinion on adding in a forest seal stone + arven so you can make sure your getting vip pass turn one I find without getting a mew into vip pass you just never get setup
Can add it to slightly increase odds, I would always rather play research than arven on turn 1 so I don’t see much reason for that but I do like the idea of forest seal stone even without arven
What would you do to counter alolan vulpix v star, im considering putting escape rope over mimikyu EX. I'm just not sure if I should run 1 rope or 2.
I think personally path is the best counter, rope had very little application elsewhere but path helps in the mirror, being able to Roxanne and path(beating alolan Vulpix by shutting off zacian’s ability allowing it to attack the Vulpix)
What are your thoughts on setting up a zacian turn 1 and using its ability? In this game you didn't set up a zacian and put 3 ralts in instead, I'm curious if you think that's generally the better play (and if not, what target for the Zacian ability is best?)
Having 2 ralts is a bit too few when mew or a ralts can die, and zacian can just end up being a liability. If you use zacian’s ability you would attach to the zacian to try to attack with just a 3 energy zacian turn 2, but that’s not really the best play most of the time, there are very few matchups where attacking with zacian early is the best strategy
@@jamesctcg I see! Thank you!
The opponent usually bosses Zacian on the bench with 3 energy turn 2
Had the cress KO at 3:46 if you used attach from turn to retreat gardy into cress
u right
