One curious thing about the Chinese CZcams pirates cited. They all have professional quality video, lighting, makeup, content and set design, none of which is common in the real CZcams environment. That combination of professional production qualities suggests big money subsidies and support We know who provides that support (and ease of access) as that ensures conformity with the Communist Party line and approved propaganda. There are many VPN providers. If you want VPN, you will get it. Of course, many are paid VPNs, so it's about 16 to 24 RMB per month. (I've heard of free VPNs before though).
As he said, many people actually need VPN because their job requires it. The possibility of "getting caught" is actually very low. So many people use VPN. If the police will put every person in jail, that'll be half of China's population.
As long as nobody's badmouthing the Chinese government (and they have proof that they said something wrong), there won't be any problems.
