- Service workers and patient care staff at UC San Diego’s Jacobs Medical Center picketed Wednesday. KPBS reporter Katie Anastas says they’re asking for higher wages and housing assistance amid ongoing contract negotiations.
UC San Diego is the Queen Campus of Protests. Is this the University that offers a Protest Studies Degree ?
Affordable housing is something worth speaking out for.
You dont need living assistance or higher wages. You need to elect better and stop buying into stupid ploys for election.
Per indeed the average salary for an RN at UCSD is $67 an HOUR.
Most RN listings open are in the 6 figure range. Really?
Yeah thats bullshit 😂 I’m sorry but most RNs I know make under $50,000 and honestly the amount of hours they work and how many patients they each individually have they deserve a lot. We need to stop paying sports players and celebrities so damn much and start paying the people saving lives more.
Sure, buy me a house too.
People can be greedy. Just be thankful you have a job.
Everybody struggles.
And deserves a living wage & healthcare & affordable rents. There, finished it for you.
@@mE-zx7ptThe average wage there is $67 an hour. With many positions STARTING in the 6 figures. How the fuck is that not a livable wage?
@@mE-zx7pt sure we do.
Didn't say that people don't deserve a living wage etc...
I'm just saying we all struggle.
So I guess we should all go on strike until that happens.
So everyone in California will demand a higher wages. Fast food workers will feel left out again and soon be asking for $30 hr and restart the cycle. He comes $25 Big Macs.
They get what they vote for
This could all be solved by not voting democrat
They voted for this.. What’d they expect?
*votes for communism, gets communism*
“we’re starving, why is everything so expensive”
You voted for Bidenomics, so why would you want a raise ?
Move if you don't like it or S T H U!
How about you stop calling for higher wages and start demanding lower prices on everyday items...? At some point with higher wages, youll end up with less jobs and even higher prices on whatever merchandise they sell... youre screwing literally EVERYONE including yourself when you demand higher wages. Start demanding livable prices on everyday items. Trust me, youll get A LOT further and will still have an occupation. Remember fight for 15 that started in California? Now its a 20 minimum but the jobs have been cut and even some stores have closed... you dont need the housing allowances or assistance if everything else was affordable.
I don’t think you understand economics. It’s not the wages keeping up prices. I work at a hospital system where our testing price without insurance can get over 10k for an hour of our time and it’s a “non-profit”. This is big companies gouging you.
After Covid, be thankful you have a job and aren’t under legal pressure…..
Tell US politicians you are israelis then you will get more than you ask for
Hahahahaha. You spelled ukraine wrong.
