- Is this Fossil Gen 5E better than the apple watch. The new Fossil Gen 5E watch is the newest smartwatch from Fossil. Apple certainly has a huge part of the market with the Apple Watch. But Fossil is bringing a strong product to the smart watch game.

My favorite watch growing up was a awesome silver and red fossil. Before that I was a g~shock kind of guy but now I have the Nike Apple Watch series 6 and I love it
i dont get why these reviewers act so surprised that fossil release good watches lol, they're one of few decent watch companies for quality + price and have been for decades
Because it's not a flossing watch . Which is what they are used to.
I agree I love fossil watches. Yes Coach, MK, Rolex etc are great and nice watches but for the affordable price and how beautifully expensive they look they my to go watch company! Love them and when I go to there store for repairs always top notch customer service. 👍
I hope the 5e doesn't develop the same issue as the regular 5 gen where the mic/speaker goes out and you can barely hear it or no longer talk.

Gen 5 is a good watch but not suitable for iphone, not only fossil watch all wear OS runs perfectly with android but not with iphone

The thing about that charging style is the watch can't handle getting wet and then drying on it's own. I have the Fossil 3 Sport and 5. I had to send the 3 back to get replaced, and the same thing happened to the 5. This time, I won't stand in the rain with the watch exposed while directing traffic, and if I sweat I'll wipe it down. However I am looking at the Galaxy Watch 3 as a replacement unless Fossil swaps the charging style. If the rings was on the charger, and not on the watch then it would be more water proof. I find it odd they over looked this.
...and don't get me started on Wear OS. I like it, but it's got some shortcomings outside of battery life.
Why would you want to take a watch that was wet and plug it up to be charged 🤔
Wear os watches have amazing battery life. I got about a day and a half out of my Gen 2 fossil and my 5e can go 2 days. Also the 5e charges completely in about an hour and a half to 2 hours.
Just traded my Galaxy Watch Active 2 for this. Ended up being $179 after tax at Best Buy. I'm liking it way more than the Galaxy Active, but battery life is for sure worse. And Facer on Android Play Store is great for watch faces.
Nice watch but battery life sucks! Excuse my choice of word but the battery life is a deal breaker, can't believe in 2021 Google cannot update their battery life. The Ticwatch pro 3 gps is a better option, it has the snapdragon chip which is Wear OS latest battery with much better battery life.
So grateful to find this review! I am ~over~ wearing an Apple Watch, which I have done since 2017. My Fossil Gen 6 is in the mail, and I am hoping to find others with similar experiences + tips.

@@MrPilot_moon thanks for asking! I will say that it didn't get me to untether from my AW - I now have TWO smartwatches. I use my AW for exercise/health tracking, close my rings, etc. But when I go out, I switch into my Gen 6, because I don't want to see text messages, the latest news alerts, etc. So my AW is my workhorse, and my Gen 6 is my evening watch, dress watch, and yes, I sleep with it, so that I get the sleep tracking. Suchhhhaaaaa stupid use of my resources for 2022. lol
@@luadiva Ah interesting, I'm assuming you have an iPhone. Because in my situation I have a Google Pixel 6, which I think would work well with wear OS so this I think is the go to watch. Thanks for replying!

Yes, turn on notifications for those apps in the Wear OS app.

It does not work unfortunately. Google seems not willing to fix assistant issues.
Is this compatible with a wireless charging station made for phone and watch?
I find it so hard to find an android watch that can answer calls but speak through the watch like the iwatch and txt full messages not just like 10 pre made short messages and waterproof

Do you recommend more this or Galaxy watch active2 for the same price?
I bought Galaxy Watch Active 2, and the adhesive that holds the sensor cover gave out about 3 months into usage. Samsung fixed the issue. It gave up again two months after I got it back and Samsung refused to fix it. I will not buy another samsung smart watch and I would advice you against buying it as well!
@@DMaN4245 have been using an active 2 since last one and half year and I've never faced sich issue. Maybe it's your product that was faulty.

Both are best. Gen5 has gps for Google map in ur watch.gen5e doesn't have this...

You should review Huawei GT 3. A much better watch with 2 weeks of battery life, Wi-Fi, and NFC.

Not waste your money. I returned 9ne today very bad battery life.
@@colonhas That depends because it has 3 different ways to save battery, so as I say in my case I do not use many things, it lasts the whole day and in extended mode 2 days, it is a very good watch especially if you buy it like me especially for $ 149 in besbuy, i love it
The way to save battery life on a Ware OS device is to 1. turn off your OK Google notification 2. turn off GPS and 3. turn off Wi-Fi. I feel what's the point of Wi-Fi and GPS always being in when it's connected to my watch through Bluetooth and receiving notifications that way.

I can’t for the life of me find any information to fix it. Pretty disappointing! And I found another problem as well. When I press the Google assistant and try to send a voice text it won’t send! Just says can’t connect to phone.

I was into Fossil Watches so much that I introduced my wife to its brand as a proud wearer for nearly 10 years...
And this happens:
I purchased a none smartwatch and on 2 of my purchases the second hands fell off each time, only to have me return the damaged watch back to the store for repair!
True, the watch average cost was under $125, but that's a lot of valuable hassle to be bothered with.
I since moved on to Samsung as my go to replacement brand.
So, if Fossil can't people can't make a non smart watch work, it wouldn't be very encouraging to ask people to spend their hard earned money on ineptitude - would it?
