I think jonghyun and onew are closer because their age gap is close, same applies to minho and key. Teemin is everyone's baby so they all adore him. Hence it's easy to notice the missing feel in onew since his otherwise twin is gone. Overall they all still feel the missing gap of jonghyun's presence.
Honestly this is how jinki was in real,even when jonghyun was there,he had stated in many interviews that he was usually quiet and shy guy and being surrounded by his members doing antics was enough to make him happy, it's just that jjong always prompted him to do silly things, he still jokes around but now you can see they simply feel happy just being in each other's company even without jokes or humour sometimes
