- This is a random video, no one asked for. This is board gaming channel, with mostly game reviews and top tens, but today I am mixing it up. The best Star Trek episodes to watch with 7 years old and under. ALL Star Trek episode were made for adult but some are more mild than other. These are the one I like to watch with my kids. My kids love the Enterprise, and the star ship battles and of course the characters; especially Picard, Geordi and Data. Thanks for watching!

Ohh i just rewatched the one where dr. Pelaski had to quarantine a station. I love the ethical question ones. If they like the borg they’ll love Voyager!
I LOVE Star Trek I grew up watching TNG. We live in a golden age of Trek. Hearing you kids excrement for Star Trek gives me hope for the future.
lol thanks James, keeping the tradition alive :)
This is a great list and highlights a lot of really good Star Trek adventures that don't get discussed enough. I started watching Star Trek: the Next Generation when I was five and look forward to introducing my kids (currently 2 and 4) to the show in a couple of years. FYI - just ran across your channel on BGG. Will have to subscribe!
Absolutely love Star Trek, and also grew up with TNG. I also used to play the “A Klingon Challenge” VHS Board Game a TON back then. One of my favorite board games at that time.
Keeping up with new Trek at all? Prodigy is supposed to be geared towards kids, though that’s a newer one I haven’t watched.
I am NOT a MERRY MAN!

I would say board game content creators get a free pass to talk about Star Trek because of the comparatively few great Star Trek games out there 😉 it was funny I was expecting Disaster to be on this list as it was a nice fish out of water episode for Picard and Final Mission is one I always remember fondly. Excellent list.
Nice change of pace spotlighting some Star Trek favorites. Do your kids like the old Lost in Space TV series? I've never seen it but saw a trailer, and it looked like it had adventures, monsters, etc.
Not yet, I think the robot might scare them, but its a fun series for sure, thanks for commenting!
Star Trek is made for kids as well as adults. My parents watched it when I was little and I found Patrick Stewart very attractive. I used to watch the Original Series with my best friend as well.
So now you'll have to post a top 10 favorites of your own from the series. This is what I grew up on as well & watched the other series that came after - DS9 (loved), Voyager (ok-ish), Enterprise (good). I even used LCData as a screen name back in the AOL days & still use it as a username other places as well if it's available. I actually watched First Contact the other day - it's my favorite of the "Next Gen" Trek movies. They really fell off after that. I haven't seen anything more recent since I don't have the CBS streaming, but would probably be most interested in the Picard show given the association.
I was hoping someone would suggest this.:) I use to wear a head band over my eyes and pretend I was Geordie.😄 I also have not been wowed by the latest Star Trek stuff, but I would recommend The Expanse if you haven't seen it. Not Star Trek but one of favorite Sci-Fi shows ever!
Between the old and new Star Trek stuff I’m into the old Star Trek. My favorite one is the original series about Kirk, Spock, McCoy etc.. I’ve even met some of the original celebrities in person. All nice people.
I love this!!!
thanks man :)
Thanks for the video! I love all the Trek! I suppose your family may be a bit young for the Next Gen movies?
Also curious, do you folks enjoy playing any Star Trek board games? Star Trek Fluxx or maybe Panic? Or, is this foreshadowing reviews of upcoming games like Star Trek: Missions (Fantasy Realms retheme or the retheme of Super Pinball 4-Kade?
Hey EK! actually no, I haven't play any star trek theme games yet. I was interested in the Fantasy Realms game but haven't heard great feedback about it so I cooled on it. Do you recommend any?
@@onepipwonder915I don't know how old your kids are, but I really enjoyed playing Fluxx games with my daughter, (Star and Zombie). Star Fluxx takes several space Sci fi tropes, including Star Trek (eg red shirts), but there are also several Star Trek specific Fluxx packs, including Next Generation, and even a 'bridge deck' that lets you combine some of the decks. Just need to be able to read the cards to play, but it's a very silly game and it can be over in literally one turn or take a long time. I suppose Star Trek Panic could also be a family game, it's a coop so you can help kids with strategy and cards. It's based on the Original Series. I would say it has a bit more going on than base Castle Panic, which it's based on. I think both those are easy to find. Note that Star Trek Panic has lots of plastic, Fluxx games are just a deck of cards. I think your hubby and you like heavier games where I have Fleet Captains, Frontiers (retheme of Mage Knight) and Expeditions. They're all out of print and hard to find. I personally am on the fence about Expeditions, but it might be suited to you? It's a coop, based in the recent Kelvin timeline movies (Chris Pine as Kirk) where you play through a mission to a planet on the verge of joining joining Federation, but the Klingons are interfering. I prefer Frontiers and Fleet Captains, but they're kind of 4x type games. They are less than just straight attack, there are rules or faction abilities that direct you thematically (eg in Fleet Captains Federation leans to diplomacy, Klingons to attack). Another one that might be worth checking out is Five Year Mission which I've seen available at stores. Too bad regarding what you've heard for Star Trek: Missions, though I will check it out still. I think for me, the Star Trek version of Superskill 4-Kade will be an insta buy! I've been on the verge of getting one of the current versions, so Star Trek theme will push me all the way!
Do u like any of the new current shows?
I've only seen the first season of Picard which was okay. The Expanse is the only current show I really like 👍
@@onepipwonder915 lower decks is good too. Funny, family friendly.
Have you watched discovery?
Not yet. Would you recommend it?
@@onepipwonder915 still in the first season. I'm enjoying it, but it doesn't "feel" like Star Trek. The crew doesn't respond to situations like we're used to seeing from previous crew members. They say they interact together is also more drama. I call it mass effect instead of star trek.
@@GameBrigade interesting, I'll have to check it out for fun :)
lol. Yeah, off the top of my head- I EASILY remember even being when I was watching TNG when it was NEW and those scenes when a character- a good-guy or bad-guy getting vaporized was very disturbing. lol. IT still is a horrible moment whenever someone on a show gets killed.
Yeah... there's ALSO: sexual situations implied, the BORG are easily distubing on their own AND there ARE in fact, times where Q was disturbing- even sometimes WHEN HE'D TALK.
...Tasha Yar's gradual death scene is pretty sad, too. Dr. Crusher REALLY pushed herself to save her, only for Artemis's small oil-slick shaped infection to take her life. TNG has what TOS always deserved: a budget, a much faster to notice fanbase AND even better actors / actresses. TNG also was very matched intellectually for its time, too. TOS however SHOWED everyone WHAT humanity could BE.
