Fun Fact: The actor who played Shooter MacGavin said that this is favorite role he ever played, because he has never had to pay for a round of golf ever since.
"You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?" One of the best comebacks in movie history. Also, Fun Fact: Bob Barker's only request when asked to be in the film was that he won the fight, so they had to do a quick rewrite to let him win. RIP to the legend
Part of me likes to think that Sandler didn't even realize that Happy won the fight in the original copy because Bob beating his ass is honestly just way funnier. Also Happy winning would be kinda bad taste because he would've just beat up a beloved old man. lol
Yeah they were gonna use a double for the fight, but Bob said "Hey, i know how to fight" and revealed he trained at Chuck Norris' school. THEN, the EPs let him do the fight
24:36 they use the quarter as a marker for where a player will putt the ball rather than leaving the ball there. If they leave the ball there, it would interrupt the other player's shot if they happened to be farther away.

Bob Barker (RIP) beating the shit out of Adam Sandler is still one of funniest things I’ve ever seen. Especially when Happy says “The price is wrong bitch” and Bob rises up like he’s the Undertaker and absolutely destroys Happy!🤣🤣
This is my favorite Adam Sandler movie and it’s not even close. For 30 years, I’ve been tormenting my best friend by sneaking up behind him and yelling Jackass!😂
Here's a cool story that just happened in 2023. A kid on the bird app with the legal name Happy Gilmore just announced that he is going to play golf at Ball State. Both Adam Sandler and Shooter quote-tweeted it and Sandler wished him good luck. He also said in his post that yes, he can do the Happy Gilmore shot.
Putting the quarter there is just to mark where the ball position is. The rule is usually that the person furthest away from the hole takes the next shot so if your ball is in the way of theirs, it needs to be moved out the way so they mark it with something flat
You are right! Although I prefer The Wedding Singer personally, Happy Gilmore is the movie that I instantly recommend to anybody who is thinking about watching Adam Sandler. It is just so funny and charming and heartwarming and ridiculous, it's amazing!
Great thing is Sandler actually hits the ball like that IRL. Now the distance is probably not the same but it's an impressive feat to hit a ball like that
Agreed! I went to a driving range once and not a single ball even cleared the gravel 😂 golf is hideously boring to me but I will always be impressed by anyone who can actually hit a ball x
Showing my age here, but his construction boss was well known for being Jaws, a James Bond Villain!!! So many good quotes...this is in my top three with Water Boy and Little Nicky!!!
Happy’s former boss (the super tall guy) was played by Richard Kiel who was famous for his role in 007: The Spy Who Loved Me as the iconic character named Jaws who also returns (one of only a few Bond villains to do so) in 007: Moonraker as well
The homeless guy was actor Allen Covert he was Walter in Waterboy the hillbilly in the stands with Clint Howard, he was also in The Wedding Singer & a l9t of other Adam Sandler movies. He was also in the Disney movie Heavyweights with Ben Stiller the year before Gilmore., and had h8s own Movie Grandma's Boy in 06 under Sandler's HappyMadison productions.
You know it’s a good video when John and Aaron are laughing and just having pure fun on screen. I love the chemistry on camera between these two. We need more of this
24:46 The quarter was being used to mark his ball on the green. When one person’s ball is in another person’s way, it CAN be the tournament’s rule that an object may be used to mark the ball’s position, while the other player putts. A quarter is flatter than a golf ball, so it’s less likely to provide interference (but real pros would use a traditional ball marker).
Hopefully you'll check out Little Nicky in this series of watching Sandler movies. It's one of my favorites! Happy Gilmore was one I watched a ton of times!
Big Carolina Hurricanes fan here. Happy Gilmore is Sandler at his best. The side plot with Stiller and Happy’s grandma deserved more time. Also, Shooter McGavin is iconic!
What a fun movie. Great actors and characters. Even the minor roles. Christopher McDonald is always great. Then Richard Kiel and Bob Barker. As usual in almost every Sandler-movie also Allen Covert. And of course Ben Stiller. What a riot. Thanks for the reaction.

Dallas Stars baby!!! And this is the Sandman’s best film imo. Hilarious, heartfelt and an absolute classic. Happy is actually a sweet person with a crazy temper lmao. Such a great film! Leaving the quarter there marks the ball for the other opponent. It’s funny because he picks it up so now the guy doesn’t know where to place his ball. They do that so the ball is not in the way for the other person to actually make a putt. The funniest thing about this movie is that golf is a very tame sport that’s what makes Happys antics so hilarious.
