If a Olympic Gymnist would play Monster hunter world for the first time, I can imagine he would pick up the Switch Axe, that is how agil this weapon is.

Chilledtiger I myself am a CB/LS main, mostly because those are the two weapons I’m any good at. But I am more often LS tho.
A Person Im also a CB/LS main, but i use either weapon in matchups they’re effective at, I just can’t hunt a rajang and furios rajang with CB, but I just dunk them like a god with LS, But mostly use CB i have 1000 uses after all.

Been playing the game for a good bit, main both Switch Axe and Charge Blade, and I finally NOW learned you can do the Zero Sum Discharge from the ground one, plus also the Claw Shot. JUST. WOW. Going to use such tech for now on, thank you Chilledtiger.

Even outclassing the LS.
You don't just flinch your allies anymore.
You don't trip them.
You launch them in a 360° 10ft wide AoE.

@@kazeith Yeah it's a very cool move. I loved playing with it but I hope it doesn't return in Wilds. It made sense in Rise but it's one of the few moves from Rise I wish to stay there.
The alternative elemental burst, the rising slash, the overhead slam. I want all of that to stay.

When using switch axe to it’s full potential that is. Also I think bow would be better because I think you mean highest possible dps on a downed monster, bow has one of the highest average dps, because you can schmove around to the head while other weapons have to slowly roll to it and probably fill some guage, while bow is max output from start.
@Hunter Gillow yes it's true , but weapons like the swaxe when clump together has a 25% damage incrrase per explosion so the DPS potential is very high. As for the bow , it has to aim for weak points and for the likes of ruiner nergi.. it's blackened spike HVZ is like 🐧 so i think every weapon has it's own pros and cons

@@shomejuan2179 One of my Friends mains the Charge blade and I can tell you: if it's played properly it becomes almost unstoppable. But a wise man once said: the the best weapon is the one you by yourself feel most comfortable with.
While in the ZSD animation you gain 4 levels of earplugs so having lv1 in your build will protect you from any roar plus if you stop spamming the button before the explosion with the correct timing will let you recover faster when landing on the floor.

This video perfectly sums up my experiences with it in World. I was already a switch axe main before World, then world just had to give me even more reasons to love it!
I love how even though I've been maining the Switch Axe, I still learned a few things watching this. Also seeing all of those crits go off like that, was just beautiful. Switch Axe crits are fair and balanced.
Me: "I finally can use 5 diffrent weapons and not Cart every 5 seconds".
The Chad Chilledtiger: "14 take it or leave it".
Started learning Switch Axe, it's got a bunch of little tricks. One thing I noticed is that, if you bail from a monster from high enough (like Safi about to slam down), you can re-grapple mid-air before you hit the ground, after an attack has passed. Glide mantle makes this significantly easier, allows grappling from practically ground level, letting you re-grab and ZSO after the danger has passed.
Also with the zero sum distage every tick before and including the explosion is all slashing damage, god i love this weapon

A lil tip if you're into playing switch axe; you can charge the sword by doing a single double swing (circle or B [I think] on Xbox) one time, then going straight into elemental discharge (triangle+circle or Y+B) and from there, count 5 explosions and press the claw atk. If done right and everything land on something, it should charge your sword costing less sword metter.

I’ve only done it a handful of times, but mounted zero sum discharge on a flying monster that ends up killing it on the last hit is THE BEST FEELING

I used to be a Swagaxe main but then I took an Iceborne to the knee.
I played all of the base game with SA but I finally decided to try something else when IB dropped and I haven't gone back since. I miss my orgasmic explosions. U __U Perhaps it's time to dust it off and give it the love like I used to.

Having a kaiser 100% crit + agitator build, i will say the SwAxe gets numbers much higher than that, so just imagine. (As an example, u were getting around 140 per crit on zinogre, but u can get it up to 190~200)

"WHERE THE HELL I AM" I feel that so much as a Swagaxe main! When fighting KT or Safi, for some reason mysteriously I often end up under them when just trying to clutch claw them lol. As it's kinda cool how ZSD in base World was kinda a mini-claw in itself so when Iceborne released I found clutch claw very easy probably becos of ZSD experience.

Huh I always wondered why hunting Zynogre always felt easier with a switch axe. It is so easy to get multiple flinches that knocking it out of super charged mode is not a problem.

Just a heads up, if you use the axe form swing and slam combo on the legs of monsters you can knock them over. I love doing it to rathalos'. It's funny just watching them try to stand on broken ankles.

When I first started to play mhw, i had no idea what other weapons did but when i saw how sexy the switch axe was, i chose it and now its the best weapon I can play. I refuse to play other weapons lol.
