@@trailerparkart2429 It's not just overkill. I think we all have this perceptiont that rich people 'stay' rich, but a lot of them can become broke quite quickly. Folks like the Kardashians are not only obsessed with wealth but they have to keep SELLING AND SELLING to maintain their lifestyle.

Sooo they actually didn’t “revamp” their brands on makeup.. remember the lawsuit that hardly no one talked about? They “revamp” phase was basically a have to to be able to go under radar and disappear a minute and come back..
lawsuit was with Seed Beauty and Coty.. it intertwined with KKW too- the 2nd lawsuit that came of it and this is ultimately why brand names changed because of results .. it’s honestly a cool deep dive if you haven’t done one yet ❤

Why would I buy skincare from someone you KNOW isn't using it themselves? She didn't get her skin from using that line. Part of it is genetics. The rest is skin care and tune ups done by doctors. Wow, can't believe I found someone voicing the exact thought I had! I noticed this a while back and it was very blatant to me 😂 To be real though, I'm pretty sure this is the case for all the mainstream brands predominantly marketed female, or even wholly unisex, actually. The body-positivity movement is grounded in females, therefore corporation only has to adhere to female pandering. (I'd rather a brand be honest from the jump, & I'm personally anti-woke. Do you really give that much of a shit to applaud a rich company for virtue-signaling properly? Haha)

Who is buying their stuff to keep them in business? I’m genuinely curious bc I feel like people my age (millennial) know better. We know luxury brands that have been around forever and can stand on their name and make us feel luxurious. Like, bffr Beyoncé is not gonna whip SKKN out before bed. Like it can’t jus be their fans making them all that money on their products, right, so what’s the market they’re grabbing? No hate, jus genuinely curious. I feel like if u were aiming like for Fenty or Rare this would make sense. Try it for the name. If u like it u like it. It’s not drug store prices but u expect that. But nothing about this gives off luxury. Like the whole point of buying luxury is that u trust the name, like if you’re selling at Clé de Peau prices I expect Clé de Peau results. Or Tom Fore prices/results.
Also, no one should be paying $90 for hyaluronic acid. Ok. I am a biochemist. You are overpaying. Just, no.

This is my opinion or rather understanding of SKKN and the skincare aspects of it, and some of the critiques i saw when it came out. Skincare sort of made sense for Kim since she has spoken theoughout the years about her struggles with psoriasis and finding treatments that worked for her and her flair ups. Thats even how she inteoduced the brand and it was even in collaboration with the dermatologist that she uses for her own personal treatments when fomulating the products. The derm also has her own line of products it seemed if im not remembering wrong. Some of the critiques though were that some of the steps that Kim indicated in the advertisement just wouldn't work or be the best for someone with her skin condition, specifically when it came to the exfoliants. It was also said that obviously it was overpriced where there are comparable products on the market with similar ingredients for more affordable prices. Another thing was that the skincare was said to be sustainable but the packaging that was said to be refillable just wasn't sustainable in the way it should have been. You'd have to buy almost a new component just to add to the outer covering. This alongside the fact that some of the packaging just couldn't sit well and wasn't accessible to people with disabilities and such.
The skincare made sense but its still too expensive for the time. But so is everything else that Kim sells so it's not a shock
Also, i think she's releasing the make-up under the SKKN company because there were ownership and formulation lawsuits because of how KKW Beauty were owned by Seed then Kody. I believe she has more ownership over production, formulas and profits when its under the general banner of your Skims and SKKN which is a good thing for her.

I dont wear lipstick, and KC is coming out with lip liners soon, so ill just wait for hers🤷‍♀️ i love supporting small brands

I feel the only reason Kim keeps rebranding and relaunching gray makeup lines is because for some reason she still feels a need to compete with Kylie in that market & become her mothers “favorite” again. Now that Kylie’s brand has slowed down, Kim sees this as opportunity to have a monopoly on said market. It’s clear that after the success of Skkms & it’s rise in brand reputation, that it would be smarter to revamp her past contour kits under the SKKMs umbrella. Admittedly, it is a good idea but in execution??? Skkn needs slot of work. It’s too bland color wise, there’s nothing advertising friendly or consumer friendly about it. The brand doesn’t scream BUY ME- it screams THROW ME AWAY

She bought from both Kylie and Kims brands, only got a part of her order and didn't get any explanation till she reached out to them about it to learn that with the Kim products they didn't have what she ordered and with Kylie that the stuff was apparently lost in the mail. The latter can be forgiven but with the Kim products they were gonna keep money for something they didn't even send her. It's shocking to think it happened to her twice with the same family's brand.

A brush like that seems like a bad idea. Most people aren’t going to clean those brushes so they’ll just be spreading bacteria all over their skin each time. 😂

Shw ended her last makeup line with a smile on her face believing her skin care line would be the best thing that ever happened. But it didnt. Ao I felt like she qould come back with another make up brand. Its just the obvious thing after her flop, I think. 😢

The perfumes were the most relevant venture as she actually has always been passionate about fragrances.. but nude makeup ? At that price point for this amount ? No.

Do ppl even remember how she stole her make up artist technic and branded it? She used to make him live at her place and prevented him to create his own brand, right b4 she released hers....why no1 talks about that? I know it s old tho....especially 4 the internet!

But didn't Kylie become a billionaire through crappy makeup? My point is that the products don't have to be good for it to be a worthwhile venture for HER.

I'd rather buy from hourglass at that price range. For a few more $$ you can buy a Dior lipstick/balm. Absurd pricing.

Kim confused her fan base, with ordinary consumers. Her fan base probably can't afford her line, and ordinary consumers don't give a rat's a** if she's Kim K. They're expecting the quality they're paying for. There are too many high-end competing brands on the market, to settle for something comparable to drug store products. I'd rather buy Maybelline, for half the price. I wouldn't be surprised if her products are manufactured in the same factory as cheaper brands.

What is up with the packaging kim chose. This weird beige color aesthetic is so underwhelming and unattractive to me. Id NEVER purchase this. Im hitting Dior and Chanel for my make up. I trust the brand and the ingredients are high quality and the results from the products are worth every penny. Kim will never be high end trust worthy. I use a 13 dollar hyaluronic acid from Korea. Kim is nuts! My Korean skin care beats out anything kim is sourcing for 80 bucks. The colors of the eyeshadow are really basic.
    How do they sell this?!
