I respect my parents very much.
I studied hard not only for my future but one of the prime reasons I worked hard my entire life only with an intent to bring glory to my parents. My parents also have sacrificed a lot for me and my sister. I want to repay them for all their sacrifices. They also love me. They keep saying that I'm a good son and I take good care of them.
But all this will go into drain if I make one small mistake unintentionally. My each step is watched. My each word coming out of mouth is measured. And now I'm a married man. Now my movement, the way I speak, the way I communicate, everything is not only measured by my parents but by my wife as well.
One small mistake, and parents say that I'm changing. All of my life's work, all of my love, their own statment that I'm a good son will not be valid anymore. It's like whatever I do it's a mistake.
Wife also sometimes behaves like this.
All of our struggles, throughout life to take care of parents and other dependents, what does we get? Just a moment of happiness when we do something for them...but in the background we know, that this love or respect which we get after we take good care of family, is not going to last.
Because each step is walking on a board of nails and thorns...
