Can she make 145? I feel like maybe that's her issue... If she could, Dana would fight her against Amanda with the quickness... I can't say she's a Khabib style grappler who can dominate a high level striker because she hasn't fought one yet... There are like 4 145 women fighters lol, she'd fight for the belt immediately... From what little I've seen, I think she'd be slightly above the majority of grapplers in the women's division in the UFC and I can see her beating most of them should it hit the ground, but I need to see her handle someone with quick hand speed who can defensively grapple like most of the women in the UFC.... It's just that there ain't no 155 division in the UFC and with hardly any at even 145, there's a reason Dana didn't take her immediately... Right now there's no market and sadly the market that determines whether any division stays alive is the American market, and grappling ain't what they want... They want knockout artists or at minimum a total dominator and there just ain't enough competition to REALLY showcase what Kayla can ACTUALLY do with high level competition

People who keep saying Kayla should go to the UFC do not understand weight divisions. Kayla is a natural 155. There is no 155 women's division in the UFC. In fact, there just aren't many high level 155 women fighters period, which is why Kayla hasn't fought anyone of significance. Cyborg fights at 145 in Bellator. Nunes fights at 135 and 145 in UFC, but that 145 division is pretty barren. Shevchenko fights at 125. Kayla is an elite female fighter in a weight class where there aren't really any other elite female fighters, so she'll need to drop down to find competition and drop way down past what's healthy for her to find lots of elite competition.
I mean, unless she wants to switch sides and take a shot at somebody like Tony Ferguson. 😆
Well, Cyborg could join Kayla's organisation. Or Kayla could fight one with Bellator. Fighters should have more freedom and not be limited to one organisation

Right from the start, you can feel the dynamic. Harrison is the predator and Dandois is the prey. You see that kind of thing a lot with the women. You rarely see it with the men. Just think of the last Amanda Nunes fight. Most of her fights were like that. Her being the lion and the other being the terrified little prey.
If you're not allowed to MAKE your opponent LET GO of a submission hold, BY FORCE.
Then the rules are as phoney as a $3 bill.

I'm referring to MMA rules, regarding armbar submission holds.
Every time I see a fighter tap out, or get their arm broke..it makes me angry. Because, MMA rules create a handicap in favor of the fighter, who is executing the hold.. creates a false choice for the defender, by making "Effective" options illegal. Turning the situation into a complete farce.
When you see a fighter tap out.. it's not because they think that quitting is acceptable, or something to be glorified.
During armbar submission situations..the rules regarding kicks and knees to the head of a downed opponent should have exceptions. Otherwise, breaking an opponent's arm, because they're not submitting, should be illegal.
The whole thing is a one-way street, as is.
@@MoonRay0325 if a person is in an armbar, they don't even try to punch or knee their opponent anywhere. If you can punch your opponent with the arm they armbarred you with, then you are not armbarred! You managed to pull out of the armbar to punch them. And if you are armbarred, the only thing you could punch with the arm that isn't armbarred, is their legs., it won't effective in getting out of the armbar. Armbars have been used in street fights, can you link me to any clip of somebody escaping by punching their opponent? It can sometimes be possible to stand up to get out of an armbar, (unless the opponent can do a flying armbar too). It can be possible to roll towards them but if you manage that then you are largely out of it, certainly not at risk of an immediate arm break. If there could be a rule that it has to be straight for at least a second or two without injuring force then that'd protect a fighter but it'd be impossible to referee without a sensor.

Dandois isn't actually that bad, her striking is abysmal but she's way more accomplished than most in PFL and her grappling, whilst not being near Kayla's level, got her plenty of wins and a decent record. In the divisions she competes in, she's not one of the cans.

That sort of thing isn't fly in a street fight. You try to break someone's arm.. it'll be open season on your head, with whatever it takes to get you to let go.
