Hello, any items you plan to sell on Amazon you will need to get registered UPC barcode numbers. You cannot create your own UPC barcode numbers for any items sold in a distribution channel. You will need to purchase registered barcodes numbers for your company’s products. Visit www.gs1us.org/ and purchase registered barcode numbers from them. Once you have a set of registered UPC barcode numbers, you can then create and print the barcode labels yourself so you can sell your items on Amazon.

Hello, then you would need to create a new UPC barcode number for items that are different. For example, items of clothing with different colors and different sizes would each need to be assigned different barcode numbers

Hello, you don't "download" the created barcode. You need to right click on the image and "Save As" an image file to your computer. Then locate that image file on your computer to format or print.

UPC code = Universal Product Code Code (C in UPC stands for Code) (Redundant Acronym)

7. How to Calculate a UPC Barcode 'Check Digit'
The last number in a standard 12 number sequence UPC barcode is a ‘Check Digit’. If you want to create a fully functional UPC-A barcode for an item to be sold retail to a consumer, then you will need to have a correctly formatted 'Check Digit'. There is a specific mathematical formula (algorithm) that calculates the correct ‘Check Digit' for a UPC barcode, but don’t worry…you won’t have to do any math here, simply click the following link to the GS1 website: www.gs1.org/check-digit-calculator, enter the 11 digits (Number System Character + Manufacturer Number + Item Number = 11 digits) of your custom UPC barcode to get the correct ‘Check Digit’ (12th and final number of a UPC barcode).
