In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
    Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
    Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
    Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
    Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
    Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
    When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

Outstanding video! This is my new favorite HL channel. I’ve been rocking a unit for 2 years now. The emotional component is, by far, the most important one, when you start off. It truly is a yo-yo of feelings. One day, I’d be like “I look amazing”....then “I can’t believe I have a man weave”...
however, once I acclimated to this new life, I found myself super appreciative that I chose this path, with only the occasional “ughh” day.
Some words of advice to those looking to start this journey:
    1. Rock a non-exposed hairline. Far less maintenance. Once you feel confident, then switch (if you want)
    2. Tape is way easier to clean than liquid adhesive
    3. Filling in thinning temple points (With like an Eyeliner) makes the unit look even more believable.

Inspiring video. I’ve followed your channel for about 3 months now. You fully prepared me to get a hair system. Despite the fact I’ve had mine for two weeks, I’ve already done my own clean up and re-apply on my own. It did take me 2 hours and there was a panic but I now know I can deal with my system on my own and feel so much better for it. Keep up this channel bro it’s truly benefiting people with hair systems and people who are looking to get one

I remember you hearing talking about this existential stuff before i had my hair system and i thiught it's a little" boohoo" but to be honest hearing it again after having a hair system is literally what im going through. There are moments where all o want is to get out of house talk with people meet new ones and so on and there are moments when i feel like somebody can notice it and afraid to leave house feel like a fugazzi like this hair system is all that matters about me. I changed myself completely anyways im much more.open to people and their life choices now. I dont judge others as much. There are times where i feel so good about myself i want to wear a t-shirt that says im a hair system wearer and other times i feel it's all over for me because i lie to myself. That being said it's only getting better and more stable. I remember after my second reattachment i felt like i was coming back to my normal self. Its even hard to explain. Before i always looked in the mirror i always felt that there is something on my head thay doesnt belong to me but in this moment i just stopped feeling i wear anything. Sometimes i have to touch it to make sure it's there is it makes any sense. It became so natural for me and the look of it too. I remember my first reattachment truing to put on tape and finding the right spot for the hair system. It was a nightmare i was in horrible state j couldn't leave a bathroom for three hours and planned to shave it all because i thought there is no way i can finish it myself. So many hairs got lost to the fight with a tape. But somehow i got through it only to realize two days later that i didnt put system symmetrical. Nobody noticed not even me. Only way i noticed it was sliding my fingers through my scalp and noticing that right temple starts much higher than the left one. It's really hard to mess it up to the point of no return. Second reattachment was much much quicker arleady. It only gets easier and more stable.

Thanks for the vid Jake...I wear one too...bout 18 months or so..at the end of the day I always say I look far far better with than without but I get the reservations thing..biggest for me when I first had it was being seen with hair rather than the thinning look before...I just wanted people to say hey you look great with that..get a decent unit because the cheap n nasty ones look awful and people notice..it's about confidence and I have it now..

From my research the one thing I like about a hair system is no stress on things not working in terms of HT failure or they mess up placing the follicles on the head and cause bumps. Still trying to learn this and I am doing treatments right now to see if I am a good responder to micro needling. Seen some amazing results from it, but I am keeping it real in terms of my gains. One year of treatments and learn where to step next.

  • @browningslifeinthephilippi7791

This is great information, I am currently under a learning curve, I have a french lace and have ghost bond in the front and tape in the back, the problem is I installed it in a hot environment with no ac , once we started the install I began sweating profusely, and then when I washed my hair for the first time the water was hot, I believe these 2 events causes the glue from the tape bleed through and my hair around the tape beame sticky , , I will remove it tomorrow witch will be 1 week , and wash the glue out and scrub my head, and reinstall under the fan or in a different ac room, I will not use hot water again, its all a learning curve, next time it will be better., and I orderd walker tape vrs the no name tape I currently have.

As I sit here and read some of these comments I think that some either just don't understand the work and dedication it takes to this every week. What it's like to open up to anyone on a subject that maybe your most valuable issue. It doesn't take a real man to type in insults and take shots on a keyboard. It just takes immaturity. great videos, my main concern after cost of these systems, is that once you start, you cant really stop. because then when you take it off you;ll have a bald crown. Jake, how does it feel when you work out? I saw other videos where they say the sweat etc is locked in so when u change the system your head smells bad? And then there's the cost, these systems don't last very long by what i've seen, over 10yrs I estimated it will cost me 30k, thats mindboggling... I don't think I can do that

Its my opinion that the length of time that anyone spends worrying about their hairloss, prior to getting a system, directly corresponds to (and influences) the time it takes to adjust to suddenly having hair again. When you focus so much on something, you lose perspective. This isn't the greatest basis to then make the decisions and employ the necessary coping mechanisms, to start wearing.
Losing your hair often leads to you looking out for and analysing other people's hair. Its easy to get hair envy when you see guys with great floppy manes.
But, you also see people with a lot less hair and say to yourself "I'd even settle for that".
TAKE NOTE! Its those people you should try and emulate with your first system.
You'll get more natural results and it will help you ease better into the transition process.

Also i am always uncertain about what i can do with it. do i dare sit by a bonfire? do i dare go on vacation for 14 days swimming, do i dare drive a convirtable, what if i get a head injury infront of everyone :D and loads more.

No pain. Systems last typically 2-4 months depending on how you take care of them

Anybody thats here for guidance and help, please note that you will learn more from people (like Jake) talking about the mistakes they've made, than you will from so called 'professionals'. The same applies to the mistakes you may make in the future, so don't fear getting some things wrong. It can be the quickest and most effective way to learn.

I’d much rather have a natural looking hair system than an unnatural looking hair transplant. At least with the piece that naturalness is in your hands. Getting a natural transplant is just luck.
