@casiomusicgear Privia PX-S7000 is Casio's latest model of their Privia line. In this video, I unbox it and demo some of the sounds that I really liked. Make sure you stay till the end as I layered a bunch of patches and composed a short piece using only the PX-S7000 (including drums).
The keybed is a combination of Casio's grand hybrid piano hammer action and Privia's hammer action which adjusts to your playing. As you can see in this video, I utilize some advanced piano techniques and it responded to them really well.

Here's my latest video unboxing and playing the Privia PX-S7000. I really enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, making music on this one. In fact I loved the keybed action so much that I decided to use it as a MIDI controller in my studio cuz it's slim and fits perfectly in front of my desk, with its own integrated, STURDY stand! And those additional piano sounds are gorgeous. Hamburg Grand is by far my favorite! Let me know which one you like in the comment section below!

I went to a Sam Ash recently to see their Roland and Kawai keyboards and saw this one in black. It looked so dang cool in person. Very sleek. It felt and sounded great too.
It's a nice keyboard. I was just playing it right now. Too bad Sam Ash is gone!
So I bought this a couple weeks ago in white and I feel I should’ve went with the black or yellow. But it’s ok. I love the keyboard itself. It’s expensive but it’s a piece of art that looks and plays great. It doesn’t feel like it’s a Casio.
The Yellow one is lovely but so is the white. I like the black finish as well, but it's a giant finger print magnet generally. Other colors are more forgiving.

Leon, that is absolutely beautiful ... I just subscribed to your channel as I thoroughly enjoyed your playing and your demonstration of the Casio Privia PX-S7000. Are you playing it directly from its inbuilt speaker application system or you have used an external mixer and speakers? Also if I may ask, can you set more reverb such a concert hall, club, cathedral and so on from the front panel of the lovely PX-S7000. I really enjoy your playing and your style is very rhythmic I love how you almost compose a phrase and build your composition around it! :) You must have used some audio interface in a DAW as it sounds brilliant. I have also viewed another video and you're playing I believe the same model, the Casio Privia PX-S7000 in Black which also looks amazing. I'm in between the two colours as my home is Mid-Century Modern in style as either would look great. Thanks a million for your brilliant playing as I always now check your channel. I am in my 50’s and just getting back to playing after close to 20 years, and would love this to be the first piece I learn. Have you notated it yet? and sell the sheet music?

Thank you! :) this has a much improved keybed which is very quiet I actually use it as a midi controller for that purpose, my wife has her office setup right next to me so when I’m playing the keys with headphones on, it doesn’t bother her at all

Future will tell, but I've had it for 2 years now and no issues at all so far.
8:00 not sure why in the video it seems it takes no effort to press the white or black key near the felt area... I tried it in a store to play Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement and with the thumb and little fingers on the black key and middle or ring finger needing to press on the white or black key near the felt area, it was very difficult to press down. It almost was unplayable... on the Casio GP series piano or the Roland FP-30X or FP-90X, there is no such issue

It is inevitable to feel that the keys can be heavier towards the top end when playing on a super slim keyboard like this cuz you don't get that advantage of a longer key pivot point. However, after a few runs, I found it was easy to adjust my playing to this keyboard without any issues.
@@LeonThomasian ok, if you are already skillful playing piano, I guess you'd have no problem, for example, move your fingers 1cm away from the felt. For me, I am an intermediate... so I hope I don't have to constantly remember to do these tricks
Ive been thinking about picking up this keyboard. My main reservation is the dual sensor. Im a classical pianist, and will mainly be playing classical repertoire. Do you ever feel that the action prevents you from playing ppp. Does the action work well for VST controller?
I've been playing this keyboard for almost 2 years now. In fact I sold my VPC1 and been using the S7000 as my main midi controller. This keyboard is a great compromise between a traditional midi controller that has no sound, and a top notch midi controller like the VPC1. It's narrow, and it first in tight spaces pretty well. My VPC1 did not. It's hard to say though. You really have to play it and experience the keybed for yourself.

Hey I only like Nord Grand and keys like the Kawai Mp11, like classical pianos.. is this kinda similar for practising serious music ?
I've practiced some prokofiev, chopin, liszt, etc. repertoire on it and it delivers

Hi sorry about the late response, it lasts about 4 hours, and I recommend when it's not being used, remove the batteries for them to last longer.

You make this piano sound so good...I have owned a Privia PX-850 for 8 plus years and the piano sounds are very realistic and full...its hard to tell that it is not a real acoustic piano...I just received my new PX-S7000 and am so disappointed in the thinness and muffled overtones in ALL of the piano samplings (through the internal speakers)...The other samplings sound correct (organs, EP's, midi instruments) as do the demo songs (all 3 of them-even my $1000 PX-850 had 60 songs). I have tried all of the positions variations for sound and none of them improved this condition. It just does NOT sound like a real piano...not sure what the problem may be or if that is the way it is supposed to sound...If so, it is disappointing...

Just curious, do you have the keyboard facing the wall directly? And what is your room acoustics situation?
@@LeonThomasian ...the piano sits about 7" (at the top body of the piano) from the wall. This is exactly where my Privia PX-850 sat (and it sounded fantastic there). This is a converted second bedroom (about 13'x15') and the acoustics are pretty good...the speakers are trying too hard to create a stereo or surround sound and end up not sounding like an acoustic piano...it is definitely improved when I run 1/4" cables into my soundboard and listen through my Focal monitor speakers.

It beats all VSTs
After seeing so many videos of this piano, i decided to go to a music store a few days ago to try it in order to have a better idea of how it sounds and how it feels, especially considering all the positive points these different videos mentioned about this instrument.
If i've been very much enthusiastic about the look (i played the yellow and the black one and loved the black one color, unlike the yellow one), i must say i've been disappointed by the acoustic piano sounds, compared to the sound and the feel of a Zimmermann acoustic piano (made by Bechstein) which was in the store and which i tried at the same time.
Of course, the price of the acoustic piano is almost 4 times more expensive than the Casio and it would be too nice to have a piano with exactly the same sound and feel of a Bechstein, but for the price of a Casio...😏
All this to say that when manufacturers claim they managed to reproduce the mechanic and the sound of a real grand or upright piano with a digital piano, it's simply not true.

A couple months ago I was holiday in Poland and I entered a music shop where they had on display both PX-S6000 and PX-S7000, in this amazing mustard colour. Tried them and blown away! I had no idea that CASIO could make such great instruments! I thought they make only entry level cheap keyboards. Since then, it's my dream to buy one for my daughter who learns piano (who am I fooling? For me too! hehehe)

This really is an annoying amount of plastic used, to pack up those parts. Come on Casio, couldn't this be done better in 2022?
For something this expensive I don't mind the plastic.
