Happy M 1:39 others Day to all Mums that Celebrate Mothers Dy on the 12th of May this Year. I hope you all get Spoilt. I got Spoiled today. Love to all Mums. To me Mothers day is everyday Just like Fathers Day. Love to all on this Channel Chums to All and Neil Sean for Bringing us all together. Love from Australia. ♥️🌹🙏🏽🇦🇺
Those days when I was just a toddler and when there was no TV were are of my favorite memories. I used to get on my grandfather’s lap and the family would listen to a big brown radio together. Thank you Neil. ❤
Love this radio program. Being from the US I had never heard it. These folks sound like my Aunt's, Uncle's, and Cousins years ago when there are out of town guests. Unfortunately my parents, Uncle's, and all but one of my Aunt's have left us for their Heavenly Home but this brought back wonderful memories. Thank you.
Thank you for the memory Neil. My Nana would stop everything and have a cuppa when Mrs Dale's Diary came on the wireless. She would make me a cuppa too (luke warm and milky) and I would sit with her - I was not allowed to speak ! Lovely memories of times gone by. x
Neil, I absolutely LOVE Lee Marvin's version of "Wand'rin Star" And the movie was great, too! ("Paint Your Wagon") Actually, I hope I've got the title right!? AND - Look after yourself, my friend! ❤❤❤
My mother used to sit and listen whilst knitting our socks, as kids we used to sneak in and listen to the wireless sitting under the table. What a hoot we had.❤❤
My allergies are taking over my life right now. I have them all year, but Spring is the worst for me. I hope you feel better soon, Neil. ❤️ What a great story. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for posting. I know these people Neil, theyre in my family as well. Cheers!👋👋😁
👋, Good Afternoon . Wishing all those who celebrate today Very Happy Blessed Mother’s Day 🌹💐 Thank your Neil , for another wonderful Classic Sunday, Matinee to watch. 🍿 🎦🇺🇸
I sympathise, Neil. Everything is covered with pollen and the wind is causing havoc spreading it around like mad. Ugh 🤧 Happy Mothers Day to all mothers (!) in the many countries which celebrate today 💐🌷🌸🌻🏵🌹💐
I wish I could play this on my 1940 Art Deco Zenith Floor Model Radio/Record Player. It was the radio that my dad listened to as a kid. He said him & his brother talked all night after the very first show they listened to. Then they fell asleep during church the next morning and got whoopings. But they didn’t care, they believed it was a whole new world and were so excited about what was coming next. Would love to have seen his reaction to 8K videos and today’s cgi. We’ve come along way!
Happy Mother's Day ❤ from North Florida. Prayers for our area. Storm left us with no electricity we are on day 3. Grateful for Mother's Day with our men grilling a beautiful meal 💕.
I love old radio programs of any kind. We have SXM (satellite radio) in all our cars plus my iPad and iPhone and my car is 99% on Radio Classics station! I don’t 😂remember hearing them when I was young (1947 boomer here!) because we got a TV when my sister was born in 1951 - I “heard” it was because she was a cranky baby😁. What I never knew was that radio shows continued into the early 1960s here in the US.
🇭🇲 🦘👋 Another wonderful treat, and a radio 📻 episode, at that! So funny and such fun 🤗 as there are people in families, just like that - even today. Different times of course - but the 'themes' of 'family life' when dealing with relatives who you haven't seen for quite a while, seldom change. Most enjoyable 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and "Thank you" Neil xx 👔 ⭐👋
😂 That ending was absolutely hilarious! Not only is the show delightful but the accompanying pictures and paintings are too. Thank you so much for sharing. I wish we could still have the relative innocence of that era. And I agree with the man at the end if he's speaking about black tea, and as long as we take coffee in moderation.
You wouldn’t remember the original of Wandrin' Star when it got to number 1 in 1969, with Clint Eastwood singing I Talk To The Trees on the B side - you’re too young Neil (which means I’m too old!) “Your hair's too blue, you know!” I'd forgotten how clipped their English tones were in those days. And “Where's the central heating?” 😂😂😂 I ❤ the pictures in your video. Was life really like that 64 years ago? I don’t remember because I was too young!
… Jimmy Clitheroe on Sunday … The Goon Show … all the magic played out over the airways from a big brown radiogram ! Beautiful diction and expression in the voices … setting the imagination alight !!
👋👋👋 Hi Neil and Chums. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms, Nanas, Mums, etc in our Neil Sean World. What a fun program. I am an audiobook fanatic so listening to the "radio" show was easy for me. i love the format and timeless simple message of the old radio shows. family oriented, loving, and funny as only families can be. Thank you for this piece.
❤Thank you Neil, enjr listenin g to these old programmes, nothing vhas changed with Expats visiting after a prolonged time in the colonies 💐more of the same please A Big Wave 😊 Happy Sunday all, 💐
"That's why English women knit. They underheat their houses and then spend every waking hour knitting hideous garments to keep out the cold." and "We don't drink tea." Some great writing and a good story premise to have a Canadian commentary on the British way of life. I can see why the late Queen Mother would have enjoyed it.
love the old radio plays, more of them please! I grew up in South Africa, and I remember listening to a programme called Squad Cars, always started with the police scirons blaring. I was all tucked up in bed, with just a bedside light, after Squad cars came The Squeeking Door. Supprised i got any sleep :)
Good morning Neil 👋☀️ Thank you for sharing Mrs Dale's Diary, I heard about it but that's the first time I've listened to it, and your right it you can relate to some of the characters, my grandfather's sister coming to visit when I was a wee girl, the fuss, china tea set, special cut sandwiches, and my granny breathing a sight of relieve when she had gone 😂 Have a wonderful day Neil stay safe ❤
Neil, at age 13 I was given a 5 year Diary, & 58 years later still keeping a Diary every day. Lovely to randomly re-read & remember the people who touched my Life briefly, or made an Impact. The Teen Angst, Lovelorn Years, Traumas at Work.... Almost Need a Magnifying Glass, I wrote so small - to cram in the Info in such small Squares. Began Using a Calendar 20 odd years ago, more Space. 😮
You can see why it was ended in the 60’s ,youngsters wouldn’t listen to it ! My family all spoke like them ,my Gran used to say she was brought up to speak the King’s english lol . I think the episode you chose is relatable to every family ,we all have them 😮 Hadn’t listened to any episode before ,but it did bring back memories of my Gran and Great Aunt’s chatting away 😂 Great photos to accompany it too ! Thankyou for sharing Neil 👏👏👏😎💖
Thanks. Pipped at the post by our Australian Blue Hills which ran for 27 years and with 5795 episodes was at one time the world’s longest running radio serial. Quite enjoyed listening to Mrs Dale’s Diary but not as much as The Cedar Tree to which I’ve become addicted. Almost on to Series 2. I remember when I was going on five, with my sister and brother already off to school, snuggling into bed with my Nanna to listen to her morning serials. And then later at 6 pm we had our kid’s serials which were heralded in by Dance of the Chinese Flutes
Thank you, Neil, for posting on other topics than H & M. I enjoy your presentation style and am happy to support you by watching and liking. I enjoy videos about the real royals. Not the quitters. The show business, today in history videos, things that educate, and the sidebar pictures add a lot. Your gentlemanly presentation is wonderful!
Bless your heart, Neil. Thank you for this. I had heard of Mrs Dale's Diaries but was too young and active to actually listen to it before. I do love audiobooks. I feel they do the brain a lot more good than watching DVDs and the like. You have to picture the participants yourself, and differenciate between their voices, instead of just absorbing what is being fed to you. I really love this idea of yours. 😀 Thank you, Neil. xx
Neil, I had a course soe years ago of desensitivation injections which just about stopped my serious hayfever. All I get now is a bit of a stuffy nose in the season. It's well worth doing. it takes some months of regular weekly jabs of very slowly increasing amounts of your personal allergens so your body learns to cope with them
Happy Mothers Day to all the Aussies watching 💐💐💐💐💐💐
My daughter lives in Australia and sent me some cute pics of her gifts from her son.
Thank you from Adelaide Australia
Thankyou from Brisbane Australia 🐨🇦🇺🦘.

I'm in Georgia for the weekend. My blue car is yellow from the pollen. I sympathise, Neil❤
I live in Florida and it's horrible. Good luck.
I am struggling with it too. The yellow pollen is over in Georgia. @ least in my area.
👋👋👋 Same in Washington !
Oh goody I’ve been waiting for this Lots of pollen everywhere ! At least know that the 🐝 Bees are good 🐝 and make yummy honey 🍯 xx
@@bryaud73My husband’s family is from Alabama ! Georgia is beautiful 🤩👋👋👋
How funny how life cycles never change. But how lovely to hear such polite and well spoken people
Love this radio program. Thank you.
