That is a beefy looking, meat-eating, monster fly! I dig using the deer hair to prop up the wing - so smart!! I'm always amazed at the amount of deer hair you can cram onto what looks like a small space for the head. The times I've tied deer hair heads they end up looking less than ideal.

The vertical eyes are some of my favorites for that back half and I love schlappen tails so much I use these patterns in the salt too 😂
I love the vertical eye mfc hook I use it for a rear hook aton. It makes articulating much easier. ❤

I finally get to give YOU a pointer lol.. I’m a little wimpy when it comes to bleeding. I stopped using the slicker brush and bought me a set of wire soldering/welding brushes. They are only about 1.5 and 2.5 inches long. I bought a set of three for less that $4 at Walmart. I can control them better and while I do still occasionally poke myself with one of the wires, it’s not nearly as often as I did with the slicker brush. Best of luck and thanks for the great pattern

You make it look so easy! Just getting started in the world of streamer tying & fishing streamers and I’m already totally ate up with it. When it comes to a razor and deer hair, I break a sweat and screw it up most of the time. Any tips on that? Great tie, love your channel! Perhaps a subject for your “tips” vid or short… storing your fur… should you leave it in the bag or can you leave it out of the bag, in a drawer, out on display, punch a hole in the hide and ring it???? Your thoughts???
I usually tie a bunch of bodies, and when I am done I tie the heads at one time....them I trim them all at the same time. GREAT way to have some repetitive tying.
How do you make deer hair heads look so dang easy!!!! By the time I'm done, looks like I killed a deer at my vise.
Now that looks like the real deal as far as a killer streamer goes, I think that would take care of the big river browns on the river Don in Scotland.

Deer hair is such a pain in the ass, but it's effective.

Makes me think of an unweighted sex dungeon, though I tend to think that way with deer hair heads otherwise not much in common with it, but this looks another I should add to my list.
