  • Alabama Hills has been used as the backdrop for over four hundred films and television shows throughout the twentieth century. Seeing and photographing it in person, I could see why. Epic boulders, wide open sky, beautiful light, and magnificent sierras (including Mount Whitney). In this video I take you along for the trip, and share a few of my images.

Just stunning. Just when I thought that I had seen all the fantastic Alabama Hills videos, you blow them right out of the water. This video is remarkable. It comes with the searching speed used by a photographer's eyes. The drone sequences were equally as stunning.

Great Video Todd. Alabama Hills is a great place for night photography, but it also has so much more on bright sunny days. Thanks for sharing this great time of day.

I'm a bit paranoid about getting lost in places like that, so I would probably carry a topo map and a compass, but that's just me! I'm always losing my car in big mall multi-level parking garages, I'm that type.

I think most us want to create beauty in some fashion. Some of us seem best able to do that with a camera (and editing software) and gravitate to photography rather than painting, glass blowing, writing, etc., etc.

Sorry to be a pain, but Jean Luc ???? Pfft I say, Pfft again! Try Kirk and Spock. THE REAL Star Trek!
On the nice side… I’m glad to see it hasn’t been over run with tourists and developers (much worse).
