      Agree. Structuring the serve practice to continually work from a bad serve to a good one in stages is so important and difficult. Not wanting to get it all right at the same time, first work on wrist relaxation, then contact point, then contact height above table, then different spins, then different placements etc.

    Wow. Great Video. Thank you very, very much! So much input I will have to watch it some more times and take some notes to work on the different aspects. For me, as an ambitioned, intermediate player with not so much time for training it’s always important to use my time effectively.
    Would you recommend an order of priorities to practice? And would you recommend a certain milestone when I should practice the next aspect?
    And would you recommend to work parallel on one aspect for let’s say two or three serves or better work on one serve at a time? Normally I practice three different serves. Long and fast, short underspin and pendulum. Too much?
    Thanks again and keep on making such great videos!

      Thank you for the compliments really happy we could help you!
      I would recommend you to first of all learn the basics of the serve and how to get the spin you want.
      2nd i would practice the placement which hopefully will go öretty smooth when you already have the basics.
      Then finish with the Hiding spin part. It is what make a good serve amazing but its not possible before you handle the other steps

    • @pingpongmaestros
      @pingpongmaestros  Před 3 měsíci

      Of course! I actually changed pretty late. I was 17 years old when I got pimples on both sides and the reason was that I always played very close to the table, blocked alot and often used flat shots. So my coach thought I could play similar with short pimples but make it harder for the opponents

    A lot of these serves are illegal because you don't remove your free arm immediately after tossing the ball which the Laws clearly state.

    • @maddean3893
      @maddean3893 Před 4 měsíci

      Unfortunately he is right. I used to serve exactly like this using my left forearm not to cover but mainly to balance weight and having a reference point to the ball. I re-entered the game after 16 years of not playing. Although I really try to avoid it I get in trouble with referee’s quite often.

  • @williamtranbill3559
    @williamtranbill3559 Před 17 dny

    Ur rotation is awkward, it would make u lost a lot of time and slow to change direction, u have to be at the ready position immediately after serving

  • @mortuc1
    @mortuc1 Před 4 měsíci +1

    For your pendulum serve you pull your throwing arm out of the way too late. Id definitely BE calling you out on that as a player and a ref.

    • @mortuc1
      @mortuc1 Před 4 měsíci

      @@CMCMTTTV I know it's tiresome. There should just be a correction to the rule. Either make it not illegal or before the rules more. And tbh in this case I think it's too much. Just pull your damn arm away 1 second earlier... It's really not a big deal, thats what I find frustrating the most. Just learn proper serves and this would never be an issue...
