    Passed my Civil FE in June, couldn't resist starting to prep for the PE even though I need to find a job and gain experience first.
    The Steel Manual was my favorite source of information back in school, I still get giddy thinking about it. I haven't touched mine in 5 years but the smell of the new pages every time I opened it up for steel design just hit different, y'know? Loved that thing. Mine is the 14th ed but I cant wait for the 16th ed to come out and I'm gonna go ahead and buy that.

    I am about halfway through this video. It takes so long because I have to wait until the ink dries on the tabs before I can apply them to the book, and I have to look around in the book for the sections you tabbed because I have the 15th addition. Definitely, thanks for the help with the tabs because it was hit and miss trying to glimpse the tabs in your other videos.

      John Thank you so much for the kind words! I didn't realize everyone was looking at my tabs lol. And i hear you about the ink drying, I had the same problem everytime I tab!

      If you’re using the Post-it “plastic like” tabs, I’m writing with pencil on those, it doesn’t get erased very easily.

      @@Kestava_Engineering I used some white plasticy tabs and a fine point Sharpie for mine. They are very legible and don't smudge.

    Hi can you go over how to find the deflection equation for simple beam with two equal loads unsymmetrically place and two unequal load one below in Table 3-23. They didn't give the equation for that why. Thank you for the videos. These are great!!

    • @matthewma9112
      @matthewma9112 Před 3 lety

      I don't think Table 3-23 covers those cases. Superposition can be the solution.

    What does BF stand for in the Zx table?

    • @Kestava_Engineering
      @Kestava_Engineering  Před 2 lety

      BF is the factor used to calculate the flexural strength for unbraced length Lb between Lp and Lr, but I cant recall if they actually give it a name! I'll have to double check

    Hey there!.... Welds & Dmin - table 8.4 - when I solve for Dmin, we get kip/in? Could you explain the 1/16th of an inch for Dmin? I just get stuck once I solve.

    • @Kestava_Engineering
      @Kestava_Engineering  Před 2 lety

      D is just always represented as 1/16th of an inch. and "D" in the equation represents the numerator while 16 is the denominator.
      i hope this helps Tamarah!

    If I am taking the SE exam in October 2021 would it matter if I use the 14 th edition instead of the 15 the edition. Do things and equations numbers change ?

    • @Kestava_Engineering
