A Plague Tale: Requiem is an impressive sequel to the excellent action-adventure game A Plague Tale: Innocence, upping the ante in almost every way. It doesn’t do a ton to distinguish itself from its predecessor in terms of its actual gameplay mechanics, but with a depressing yet awesome story, fantastic graphics, and memorable rat-filled moments, this unique adventure very much deserves your attention. - Hry

Hard to understand how they managed to make the sequel even darker, they nailed the incredible medieval setting. The story and writing of these two games is just incredible. Few games these days nail emotional resonance. And I’m glad they added new gameplay elements to the stealth.

@@zhuangcorp First one has better pacing IMO and is a lot shorter, both have similar mechanics but requiem is a much bigger adventure with new mechanics like the crossbow. Requiem is graphically better too.

@@zz-uq2ow agreed.. it is 100% story because you are basically forced to follow a very linear storyline without any options unless it is the part where you are sneaking past guards to move on to the next area.. that was the only aspect of the game that was nice..
0 difficulty in puzzles.. pretty obvious.. you are in a big room with all the doors and side rooms convenietly blocked by debris etc.. you know that the only one available to get into will have either a collectible or something to be used..
and unless you get crossbow 3 or alchemy 2, you pretty much stuck to killing the archers or javelin throwers with your sling

Just finished the game, without a doubt 10/10 masterpiece. This would even be a fantastic movie opportunity if done right or a series like they have done with The Last of Us. Hope the 3rd Plague Tale does not take ages to release!

There were 4-5 moments where the game mechanics were just horrible and frustrating, and some more times were it all got too slow and repetitive, but other than that the game was great. An 8 is the perfect rating for me

This series is a masterclass in story telling and atmosphere
The first one already gave me anxiety and panic attacks, cant wait to experience it again with twice the intensity.

The game is amazing. The graphics are incredible, second only to Horizon: Forbidden West. The music is heavenly. The voice acting and story is phenomenal. Got me crying 😢.
But horizons graphics aren’t better than ratchet and clank or demons souls

Only gripes, combat feels very annoying at times because Amicia is so slow and lacks tools to defend herself in a pinch (which is probably intentional but still) also Amicia has a bit of unrealistic plot armor. There’s are about 3 times in the story were she absolutely should’ve died but just didn’t. Aside from those things loved it.

If you have Dolby Atmos headphones you have to play this. The sound design is unlike anything I've heard before
This game really went above and beyond. The game play was amazing and the emotion stirring and plot was just insane. A worthy sequel.

Started playing this today. The intro story combining tutorial is so touching
No 60fps performance mode? Hard pass. Unacceptable for a next gen title.
You might as well start passing on pretty much everything going forward as the last gen is being ditched. The only reason why you're so used to 60fps on current gen is because the games have to run on last gen. When the lowest common denominator is eliminated, the current gen is the lowest, meaning better visuals and physics at the cost of performance. Only way to overcome this is going PC where you can buy far better hardware than current gen to power through it
Nope all next gen games should run perfectly period. That's why we bought one in thr first place

You probably should have mentioned it's capped to 30fps and has no performance mode. After being spoiled by nearly all new releases being 60fps or higher on ps5 and xsx, this simply doesn't wash with me. Deal breaking.

8 is really harsh, just finished playing this on psplus and for me its an easy 10. Perfect story, fun gameplay. If you want a challenge don't go for the crossbow upgrade, makes the game too easy
