I grew up on Pinto Beans and cornbread and I still love em. ❤️
Me too! 💙
Me too.ilove the juice with cornbread.
You read my mind! I made a combo of white and brown beans in mine when I got home today! My mother often mixed white and brown. And I made some fried cabbage with polish sausage and hot water cornbread. A "mama" meal from my childhood. My sister stopped for a plate!
Thanks, you gave me good pointers on the water level. I threw in a package of salted pork with mine, it came out out great. I also add hatch chili, like my grandma
Tammy, I just got an Instant Pot and was nervous about using it for the first time. Your recipe sounded easy, and I had all the ingredients so I just now made it. It turned out perfectly! I followed it exactly. The only change was I added some diced onion. I like that your recipes are easy to follow. Thank you. You helped me over this hump!
Awesome!
Your beans look delicious, just need some cornbread to go with it. Hope you feel better...God Bless❣️🌹
ItsMyLife Tx I love onions with my beans too...
Yeah right with moist cornbread with sweet corn in it so good!
Looks delicious. My Mom always made them for my Daddy. And Navy Beans with ham. I never was a bean eater or veggies until I got older. Lol
Praying you get better very soon. So sorry you are sick. Get rest. 🙏❤🤗
Nothing like good ol pinto beans!!.......I put olive oil, garlic, salt/pepper and honey in mine, sometimes I put in a little chicken bouillon....and serve with cornbread and slaw.....yum, yum!!....Great video!
Praying you're feeling better. Take care of yourself sweet lady!
💛💛
This is how I make my beans too. Praying you and hubby get well soon!🙏🏻
I was scared of my pressure cooker but once I got into it- I love it!
I love watching you use your Cutco knifes and utensils. I bought mine when I was 17 as part of my hope chest. I have had them for 48 years and just sent them to be serviced along with my knifes about a year ago. They renewed them and even replaced a knife that I had broken the tip off. If you own Cutco never throw it out, they replace it for free if broken. Best investment I've made.
You get what you pay for with knives!
Pintos are my favorite beans and i love my instant pot for cooking anything and everything. I’m a new sub and been binge watching your recipes. I’m from Alabama and love southern cooking. I’m gonna be trying out a lot of your recipes soon. I’m so glad i found your channel. Can’t wait to try this recipe.
Glad you found it too Linze!
I eat a lot of dried beans as a good source of plant based protein and always use my instant pot cause it’s fast and oh-so-yummy! I use the Knorr jamon seasoning instead of the beef bouillon with a pinch of garlic powder and cumin. Great video!
Wish I had that bowl of beans to enjoy right now!
I'm going to have to try this one! Thank you for sharing!
Yum. That's how my mom made them when she used her stove top pressure cooker. They always turned out perfect.
I am SOOOOO going to make these. Looks so good.
Hello! I found your channel a few months ago. I’d like to tell you just how much I truly enjoy it. Your recipes look wonderful! I really appreciate your kind and genuine nature. You’re a very special lady. Thank you for sharing your art of cooking , as well as, your heart. 💕
Thank you!
Need some rice and cornbread with that. Mercy!
I throw half an onion, two smashed garlic cloves, salt pork, and a teaspoon of Texas Pete to mine.
Hello from Lexington, North Carolina! Bless your heart you sound bad. My husband Cooks pinto beans with ham hocks. I love to eat onion and coleslaw with mine. Hope you two feel better soon!
My grandma used a pressure cooker all of her life, and when she was 90 years old, we had to take it away from her because she forgot a pot of kidney beans were on the stove in the cooker. It exploded, and there was red kidney bean stains on the ceiling 20’ in the air. It looked like a crime scene. 😂 These electric pressure cookers save lives and walls.
I agree. I have heard of taking a parents keys but never a pressure cooker lol!
Oh, WHAT a story!
Funny thanks for the laugh. You made my day
You cook like my grandmother did- except she didn't have an instant pot! Thanks for sharing your recipes and tips.
I love u Miss Tammy ur so authentic & kind. A real lady!!!!!🥰👏☺️
Easy instructions for the best beens I’ve ever eaten. Thank you
We used a smoked pork hocks too at times. Because just like some of the comments, I was raised eating beans and corn bread. We had a family of seven and it's very healthy. So being budget oriented. Pinto/lima/butter and white beans were economical. Along with collard and turnip greens. Mom could throw in some fried chicken/pork steaks etc 90% of the time. Wonderful video!!
Good eating!
And I'll pray for you to get well soon I really love to watch you to you are amazing cook
I love soup beans, definitely will try this in our pressure cooker.
Love your channel, look forward to your videos 😉
Love pintos and cornbread! Praying for you and Chris to be well soon🙏.

So yummy 😋! I just made black eye peas and they were delicious also! 👍🏻❤️
Oh Señora! Delishous, your beans are very fresh nice and pink the caldo is nice. My Mamasita is in Heaven now but she made them with a ham hock and would really cook them down she would also make butter beans on a rainy day with some corn cakes butter and Brer Rabbit Syrup put us right to sleep yes ma'am. God bless you.
Hi Esther! What precious things to say about your dear mother. I was thinking while watching this video how good my mother cooked..Those beans she cooked so delicious! .. My precious mother also is with JESUS,,Safe in the arms of JESUS, GOD bless you & You family.

They look really good!
Yum,good oh soup beans ,cornbread, greens, and some onions with it.my kind of meal....🙂🤗😜👌👍💓
I was raised on pinto beans with country ham. When mom didn't have cornbread, we would eat them over plain white bread. Yummy! But because of health reasons I can't have country ham so I just use 'herb-ox' chicken boullion now.
Looks delicious!
Bless you're heart!!! Hope you feel better soon!! I can tell you're sick!!!
I saw you and you said "Hey y"all"... I didnt need to know anything else. SUBSCRIBED!!!
Thanks!
I would be happy as a clam with that, just wish I could get over my fear of the pressure cooker. My mom used them all the time. I put red pepper in when I make beans too, gives a sweet fruity flavor.

I have not had good luck with beans in my instant pot. Some of the beans get done while others are not. Can't wait to try your recipe. I have tried numerous times, but no luck!
Iv had this isdue alot too lol snd when id add rice to beef meat when i was younger and its most likely from me packing too much and cant have the right amount if liquid or if have sufficient liquid no room for them to all eqyally evenly cook at sane pace.
Very good looking beans ma'am, I'd say pinto beans are one of my favorite food
Thanks Tammy! ❤️ I used smoked pork neck bones, added coarsely chopped onion, and one diced clove of fresh garlic. It was awesome! I'll use my instant pot to make beans from now on!! 😋
Pinto beans yum yum

Absolutely
That looks good i will try to find ham like that where i live i never saw it like that.
I lived in Gulfport Ms. And couldnt find country ham anywhere.
Hey Tammy... try sprinkling some original Ms. Dash in your dry beans, if you haven't already. It's delicious. You won't be sorry! Still enjoying your videos so much!
I just made pinto beans on sunday with a turkey tail!! Yummy mm mm I need some cornbread
A turkey tail???
@@daphnemiller5910 yes you can buy the scrap parts like necks, wings, and tails. Bones make excellent broth 😉
@@lolubusi2022 I know about necks and wings. I've never known anyone who actually used a turkey tail, though.
Thanks for this Instant Pot recipe for pinto beans!
Yum
Where did you get that metal basket stand in the background? I want one!
Sam's Club
I'm gonna cook these next week I am cooking a good ole country meal for the fire department that my husband volunteers at .
This will be a crowd pleaser!
Double or triple your recipe and it will be enough and so tasty. If there are 5 or less you can double recipe unless you need to save some at home for your family
@@CollardValleyCooks I will be cooking for around 22 firemen and they love pintos so should I triple or just double ?
@@kimberlygathings2936 at least triple, I think I would cook 4x the amount!
@@CollardValleyCooks ok sounds good to me I will definitely be 4X the amount then . I always say it's better to have alot more than not enough. Thank you so much for replying back and letting know . You are so awesome and I truly enjoy your videos .
I am not sure how they compare but I buy the bouillon without the sodium. Sure wish I could put some ham in mine but after December I can…I am getting a liver transplant. My 19 year old, Emma, is going to be my living donor❤️
Looks delicious Tammy! My big white beans did not come out very well in my pressure cooker. I hope you feel better soon!
They are better just on the stove top because they fall apart.
Collard Valley Cooks I will do that next time! Thank you for telling me that! You’re the sweetest!!!
@@stokely418 Or you can cook them for a much shorter time, like 1/2 the time in the cooker.
Was this natural release or quick release of the pressure? I want make some of these for my hubby for the work week...
I do the quick release, just be careful with the steam!
after the r done pressure cooking do I do a quick release or a natural release pls ??
I always do the quick release
@@CollardValleyCooks Hello, hope all is well be safe/careful thx for the reply the beans taste Great! Got it.

LOVE IT! Ima do it. Any Witnesses here looking up what to do with beans? LOL me too.
Good evening, Collard Valley Cooks (Tammy). I was able to try your recipe... with a couple of changes. Nonetheless, it came out very delicious to say the least. Thank you very much and a Happy Saint Nicks to you and yours.
Wonderful!
I love ❤️ beans and cornbread i love mayo in my beans 🫘 it's delicious 😋 ummm thanks Tammy
I love beans AND ham! Yummy, Tammy!Tammy, have you ever made boiled dinner? My mother used to make it but I never learned that recipe. 🤔
I love pinto beans with country ham!
Hey Tammy how about making some Brunswick stew
czcams.com/video/hp8W8PGfpeg/video.html
Is the multigrain setting different from pressure cook setting ?
Yes
Yes ma’am! Would you cook dried white Lima beans the same way? Thank you Tammy!
No I would only cook them 1/2 the time or on the stovetop.
Collard Valley Cooks thank you Tammy! Never hurts to ask😊
I love pintos but I like a thicker roux and seasoned well..I cook them like red beans with sausages + ham
Next time try putting your pot on sauté, then brown your oil and ham for a few minutes. Add your beans and begin pressure cooking. You’ll get so much flavor out of that meat. Thanks for your recipe.
garlic, onion, rosemary and thyme would be a great addition.
Can you make it in a regular pot in the same way?
Sure it just takes longer
I like bean with fried potatoes. I dont make them often enough, husband gets ⛽ lol
