  • In the latest episode of Ahsoka we were introduced to a few new concept for Star Wars but what exactly does it all mean? Who is Captain Enoch? What is Thrawn planning? Are the Night Troopers truly an undead army? Why are the Great Mothers so eager to leave Peridea?

    I'm not entirely convinced that any of the stormtroopers are undead yet, because the undead on Dathomir did not move like humans do... and had terrible posture. However if the army is undead, I'm guessing that Enoch isn't. Due to his Biblical significance being a man who was delivered to God without experiencing death, I imagine that Captain Enoch has been reborn (infused with the nightsister's magic) like the others, but without actually dying. I'm looking forward to seeing more about these night troopers on screen.

      I also don't think Enoch is dead. He could be something like Savage Opress, just without force powers (or maybe he has, but unlikely). But i think the Troopers are dead and got ressurected. On Dathomir, we had one mother, reviving a whole army. Now we have three of them and maybe three who are even more powerfull. And the dead bodys on Dathomir might be there for ages, while Thrawns army was thinning out in a shorter period of time. Also i think Morrok was a revived Inquisitor, but since it was only one body Morgan was able to give him some degree of free mind, while again, the Witchmother on Dathomir had to revive many bodys but with much simpler tasks to do.

    I started re-reading the Thrawn books after the last episode, and something that I was reminded of was that Thrawn's higher purpose was to protect his people.
    It makes me wonder if the Imperial Remanent/Shadow Council are going to be disappointed by his return. If he might not actually take some of their forces to go fight whatever he thinks is the biggest threat rather than immediately fighting the New Republic. He was loyal to the Emperor, who is "dead" now I could see him not committing himself to the Imperial Remanent cause unless he were confronted by Palpatine's force ghost or something.
    This could also lend some explanation as to why the First Order seemed to lack decent command structure. I would think that if the command of the First Order were trained under Thrawn they would be a lot more competent, and I highly doubt they would have built star-killer base if they were trained under his doctrine.

    Regarding Pellaeon and Thrawn's other ships, my guess is that the whales only took Chimera out of the galaxy and left the other ships damaged and away from Lothal, but still within the regular galaxy. Ezra wanted to protect Lothal and remove Thrawn from play, but not kill any more people than he had to, and so I think the whales interpreted his orders thusly. That's why Pellaeon is still in the normal galaxy and Chimera appears to be alone at Peridea.
    Since Nightsister magic appears to be the only form of communication that worked between the galaxies, I suspect that the Three Mothers contacted Morgan, who then told Pellaeon that Thrawn would soon return, hence his combined confidence and vagueness at the Shadow Council.

      Not to mention Pellaeon was in orbit commanding the blockade when the space whales attacked and no where near the Chimera when it got taken away. He was probably left salvaging what was left of Thrawn's forces having an absolute WTF? moment.

      @@ImNtDead Having rewatched the scene, Pellaeon is talking to Thrawn on the radio but gets cut off, and at the end one of the Rebels reports that the sky is completely clear of Imperials, so I'm pretty sure that the orbital blockade ships were moved as well. I just don't think they were moved as far.

      @@michaelramon2411 The report from Wolf calling in from the Ghost flying above the city stating that they are all clear does not specify both sky and orbit. When he states that there are no Imperial ships left there are none left because they have all been wrecked or destroyed. All clear is also another term used by military personnel for stating that the area is secure. We get to witness the other Star Destroyers falling from the sky as Tie fighters are being smashed; but only get to see one ship being taken away and thats the Chimera. There is nothing to suggest that any of the other Imperial ships had been taken away by the purrgil.

    • @michaelramon2411

      @@ImNtDead @ImNtDead When Thrawn first learns that his blockade is being attacked, the officer reporting to him says that the blockade ships are "destroyed", but then amends that with "our ships are just... gone". I'm pretty confident that this is meant to imply that the orbital ships were grabbed and moved and the officer just doesn't realize that is a possibility.
      We do see one of the Star Destroyers above the city listing pretty badly, but there's no indication that it crashed into the city and exploded or anything. That could just be the writers not thinking that part through, but it seems logical to me that the purrgil could have disabled it and then hauled it away.
      We know that Pellaeon was on one of the orbital ships that was attacked but survived the battle. It is possible that his ship could have been smashed and he evacuated it, but I don't think it makes sense for the episode to end with Lothal's orbit full of Imperial escape pods. Either someone would have to come and pick the survivors up, or Pellaeon spent some time as a prisoner on Lothal but got out somehow.
      Obviously this is all unclear on the episode's part and not terribly important overall, but I think it makes more sense to say that the other ships were moved rather than destroyed.

    • @ImNtDead
      @ImNtDead Před 8 měsíci

      @@michaelramon2411 The exact line is "They've destroyed the blockade. Our ships are just gone." not exactly an amendment as the bridge officer is more likely just shocked at how fast their forces were taken out. Something we witness the purrgil doing with great ease in the following clash over the city. The severely crippled Star Destroyer that's listing could easily drift off away from the city before crashing. Just as the Dome gained altitude over the sea away from the city.
      Just because the Imperial blockade is taken out of action does not mean the Imperial survivors were rendered completely helpless. They could have gotten by with some emergency repairs to a few ships and used shuttles to gather up their remaining forces and retreat. Plus escape pods don't have to remain in orbit they can make planet fall.
      Its like I said there is no indication that they pulled away any other ships. The Imperials only picked up several unidentified objects entering orbit. Its safe to assume that these are the largest of the purrgil which crash straight through the blockade and down to the city.
      Just before the big hyperspace jump we witness three of the giant purrgil latching on to the chimera with at least two or three other large ones gathering around. The whole epic space whale attack scene lasts about three and a half minutes. If you consider how much time it takes a purrgil to charge up and jump they don't really have any time to be jumping back and forth.

      To be fair, all the senators on the call viewed it as Hera just making up a tall tale to try and get resources to look for Ezra. So in reports it might not even be “Rumor that Thrawn might be back” it could be “General Syndulla once again tried to get help for search for dead hero”

    • @ImNtDead
      @ImNtDead Před 8 měsíci

      That's assuming Thrawn is even mentioned in any sort of reports or rumors coming from the senate. I get the feeling that many in the New Republic like to believe that if you don't talk about it, it doesn't exist. So after the call with Hera the senators probably don't ever mention anything about Thrawn in the slightest probably not even joking about it around the office with each other. And I sincerely doubt hes getting any information out of Chanceller Mon Mothma's office given her own experience in dealing with spies. He probably knew certain bits and pieces here and there; but didn't have that one piece to connect all the dots so he treats the idea of Thrawn's return as some sort of fantasy.

    Here’s some interesting food for thought:
    What if Thrawn kept those Imperial Guards that Ezra crushed after Palpatine tempted him to change the past, and either has or planned to resurrect them? What if one of them has become Enoch?
    What if these aren’t undead stormtroopers, but zabrack/zabrack esque people who follow and obey the nightsisters and supplement the humans who might have been lost over time?
    Palleon mentions “Project Necromancer” as being headed by Commandant Hux during the shadow council scene. Given that he also mentions Project Necromancer as happening in conjunction with Thrawn’s return, What if Palleon had some intel on Thrawn’s access to nightsisters magicks and plans on that being incorporated into that project?

    Palleon probably is just in contact with Morgan. Morgan was likely told to seek out certain officers and prepare them for his return in the messages the Mothers passed for him. Palleon being one of the highest ranking at this point was likely approached by Morgan and given some evidence that she's been in contact with him and was working to bring him home. It would also explain why he seemed to not really have details only knowledge that his return was imminent. He's been told that he's coming but not the entire plan because even Morgan didn't know exactly where the map would lead them.

    We know that Morgan was in contact with the Great Mothers, who informed her of Thrawn’s survival in exile. As an Imperial loyalist, Morgan was probably in close contact with members of the surviving remnant, including Pellaeon, who she would have told about her plan to return Thrawn to the Galaxy. I think this is the most likely explanation.
