  • Safe and Continuous Power Beaming Optical (SCOPE-O) is an NRL research project that uses a direct-energy laser to transmit power to a remote location. Analogous to wireless communication, it can deliver power to almost
any location without having to run wires, transmitting significant power over significant distance.

but you need line-of-sight in order for it to work. What about weather and obstruction?

That can be controlled/modified and those obstructions can be cleared.

You can also use the same energy to heat a place or even destroy circuits ?

If you had a bunch of these in space, which I imagine is the plan, you could focus multiple satellite lasers on a single point on the ground and start a fire or cook something or someone. I think Musk's satellites already have lasers onboard, the military can and do use these for communications as well as power beaming or the aforementioned melting.

USNRL do you have a technology transfer program?
