  • Missile Command was one of my all time favorite arcade games. But was there ever a good C64-version of this great game?
This video takes a look at four Missile Command games on C64:
    - Missile Command, Interceptor Software, 1983
    - Armageddon, Ocean, 1983
    - Aftermath, Alternative Software, 1988
    - Missile Defence, 2023, Zzap 64

I was a huge pirate, but I never had any of those. The only Missile Command clone I had on the C64 was Red Alert, which was a type-in game from one of the magazines. I downloaded it from a BBS, I didn't type it in myself. Actually, i have a weird memory about this game. I had an Atari trackball, which had both joystick and trackball modes. For some reason, I remember Red Alert working with it in Trackball mode. However, I once tracked down a copy of the magazine that it was in, and the article doesn't say anything about it supporting the Atari trackball. Maybe I downloaded a modified copy? It did work with joystick as well.

Meh, never heard of any of those, but I played something similar on a PC. It was a SVGA era, so it looked better than these. Missile Defense is expectedly technically superior, but they are all very same in essence.
